The Vex are a race of cybernetic organisms. No one knows exactly where--or when-- they came from, but they have the ability to go anywhere throughout space and time. They're known to be ruthless, aggressive, and precise. If they came to Earth, it was for a reason.
Cayde took one last swig and stood. Being an exo, alcohol has no effect on him unless wants his sensors to simulate intoxication. Unfortunately, now was not the time.
"Sorry, kid. Looks like duty calls."
"I take it this is on my tab. Mind if I fly over the fight? Give you a bird's eye?"
Cayde winced at the question. "Not this time," he said. "Hate to be 'that guy', but the Fallen's one thing. The Vex are a whole different-- slightly uglier thing."
"I'm not a child, man. If the Vex are here they can show up anywhere on Earth without a defense shield. You need eyes on them. Come on, Six--"
"Don't give me that 'Six' crap," Cayde said. "You go up there with the Vex running around, you'll get blown outta the sky. Sit tight, kid."
And like that, the guardian was gone.
The android bartender chuckled in a synthetic, dead tone. "LEFT BEHIND AGAIN," it said loudly, poking fun at Hunter.
"Not this time," Hunter said with a smirk. "Cayde thinks I need his permission to get in on the action..."
Hunter finishes his drink, pulls out his communicator, and begins to make a call.
"...but he fails to realize I'm nothing if not resourceful."
