There were certain things that were inexplicable in this world. In the first place, we've only recently come to realize the importance and position that language holds in our lives. Capable of bending and influencing our perception of reality to such a large extent. Was this why the Divine and the Mystical were so well hidden?
Take the word 'Chaos'. As it is, the word is similar to pandemonium, or ruckus. However, its origin and true meaning is rather different. We know through the developing worldview of Genesis that Chaos is the Progenitor of the Primordials. This simple distinction in conception or imagination is what allows for things to slip past our perception.
