Chapter 4 - the sick women

"This man might be able to help you Lizzy." and stepped aside for me to step up and kneel next to the bedside. I felt her forehead. 'yep its a fever alright.' I looked at Refrig for some help. She just nodded her encouragement. I looked back at Lizzy and took a deep breath. Then I put my hand on her forehead and said, "waise heil" then I lifted my hand off of her head and looked at the inn keeper and said "done." he just stood there with his mouth opened. I stood up and walked out of the room. As I passed Carna, who smiled, I said, "Can you finish up with the rooms?" she nodded. "thanks." then closed the door behind me and walked out the exit of the inn and sat on the bench out front. "Man i feel a little weird after that, guess it's the fact that i've never used magic like this." i said quietly to myself. I heard footsteps coming up so i looked up and in front of me was a little girl that was wearing like a maids uniform that wasn't your ordinary black and white. It was blue and black and she had blue ribbons in her head that looked like she had cat ears at first until you've had a closer look. She was also carrying a small box. "Hello yentzi. I hope your enjoying yourself." she said, setting the box on the bench and sitting next to it. "Um, hello. How can i help you." i asked her after she had sat down. I heard the door open to the inn and Sungsam stepping out and asking. "Yentzi are you ok?' i looked over at her standing in front of the door looking at me. "Yeah i'm fine thanks,  just not used to this kind of magic yet, that's all." i replied. "Ok, well let's go up to our room then. Carna was able to finally book our room for the night." she said, looking inside at something that Refrig had said and she replied back "ok." I looked back over at the little girl. She wasn't there anymore. I wonder where she went and who she was. I noticed the box. She left the box. Wait. It had a note on it. 'Don't open this unless you are in a bind and need help. But beware there 'IS' a small price to pay for it.' "hmm." as i picked up the box and followed Sungsam back inside and up to our room. I could hear excited voices inside the room behind the counter. I thought to myself "I'm glad i was able to help." the hallway we had entered was a dark brown color with blue carpeting on the floor. There was eight doors on this floor and another staircase going up at the end of the hallway. I saw Carna standing in front of the room at the end of the hallway. She looked up at us as we stopped next to her. She pulls 2 keys out and hands one of them to me and used the other to open the door. We entered the room and i looked around at the other girls who where already situated. "i have a question Carna." i said as i sat the box down on the dresser. "was up Yentzi?" she asked me looking over at me for she was on the other side of the room. I looked at her asking, "does this world have a magical bag that is bottomless?" she nodded "yes". I pulled my pack off and sat it down next to the dresser. "refrig is there a spell that can be cast on a bag making it bottomless?" i asked, using telepathy. Who would have ever thought Telepathy could be so useful. "yes there is. it goes like this, 'cor-roe-tai-kah'.'' she replied twitching her tail happy to be useful with something. I smiled at that. And so I put my hand on my pack and reached for the magic in my mind and said 'cor-roe-tai-kah' and the magic pulled on my strength some but not much. The bag glowed green for a sec then went back to normal. I looked up and everyone was looking at me. "what?" i asked, nervous all of a sudden. They shook their heads saying "nothing.'' I shrugged. There was a knock at the door. I looked at it for a second. There was another knock and I walked over to it. I opened it to see who it was. It was the guy who's wife I had healed. "hello again. I'd like to thank you again for your help and give you this." he said holding out a small bag that jingled. "it's not much but i think you'd need it more than me." I took the bag. "thanks, but are you sure you wouldn't need it?'' I asked. He nodded and bid us farewell. I shut the door and walked over to the dresser to dump the bag out. I sorted the coins into 2 piles, making mine a little bigger. I handed the smaller pile to Carna. "here, this is for helping us." she took it, saying thanks. She put it in her satchel. "What kind of work is there in this place?" I asked Carna, sitting down on the bed closest to the door, claiming it as my bed to sleep on. She thought about that for a while. "Well there are adventurers, the army, waiters, librarians, priests, and etc. that's just the first things that I could think of." she replied sitten down on the other bed, which Sungsam was already laying on. Refrig jump up on my bed and curled up next to the pillow. "Thanks. I think I already know what i'm gonna do now." I replied, while petting Refrig. "Where would I sign up to be an adventurer?" she looked at me replying with "we'd have to go to the next town over in order for us to register to be an adventurer." I looked at her. "Us?" "well i was gonna register if you were." she replied shyly. She was even cuter when she blushes like that. I thought about that for abit. I layed back picking Refrig up and setting her on my stomach. "Are you sure the others will be fine with you doing that. And aren't you important to your people too?" she looked at me. "They'll be fine. They asked me to follow you around and to help you whenever you need it. As for my people." she stopped for a few seconds before continuing. "there all dead.. there was a period of silence before i replied with "i'm sorry." regretting that i asked. "Dont worry about it." she said laying down. "Let's get some sleep. We got a long day ahead of us tomorrow." "right" I closed my eyes thinking i wouldn't be able to go to sleep with all that had happened today.  But when my eyelids closed i was instantly asleep. In my waking dreams I had the same dream a couple nights before I entered this world. I was in front of a statue of a goddess. On the statue it said Rory the goddess of the night. Something about this statues seemed more familiar yet different than before. I stood there just studying it. after awhile I was about to turn around when a little girl came out from behind the statue. She looked at me and I looked back at her. Her eyes looked like they held the universe in them. She smiled and said "Hello, Yentzi." That was when I was shaken awake. "Wake up sleepy head." I opened my eyes and let them adjust to the light and looked right into Sungsams eyes as she was sitting on chest leaning over my face. "You know it's past midday right." I groaned, heaving myself up and looking outside the window to a sun high in the sky. "I'm sorry I've never slept this long before. Where are the others?" I asked looking around. "they're downstairs eating lunch sleepy head." She replied, getting off the bed and heading for the door. "Come on. We got someone else who's just joined us for our travels." She opened the door and left the room. I followed asking, "Who?" She never answered me. She just kept walking down the stairs. As we entered the tavern part of the inn we were staying at, I noticed as I looked around to find our group which was at a table farthest from the door. There were 11 other people including the owner in the tavern also. Looking back at my group I noticed a little girl next to Carna. She looked so familiar. I just stared at her. Sungsam elbowed me and it hit me, she was the girl from my dream. She was watching me with her cobalt blue eyes. Wait, cobalt, but in the dream they looked liked they held the galaxy in them. I kept that silently to myself as I walked over to the group. "Hi, my names Yentzi, and whom am i speaking with." they all giggled. "what. What'd I say." I replied smiling somewhat because I knew what I said. "My name's Vanathon, and it's a pleasure to meet such a fine gentlemen like you." she giggled. Her voice sounded so sweet, like the sound from a chorus of porcelain bells. And the way she said it made me think of royalty for some reason. "And where do you hail from Vanathon?" I asked, sitting down on the other side of the table. "And how can you all just accept someone you just met?" I looked at everyone around our table. All of them looked away distractedly. I sighed "have y'all already met this person before by any chance?" Carna looked at me and nodded saying "yes." "I see." was all I said.
