The arms of thousands upon thousands of small, insect-like creatures surrounded up completely. Bada was kicking and punching, yet the shadowing outline covering her moved with each one of her strikes. It was of no use.
I flamed on!
Bursting into a pyre of the hottest flames I could muster, the bug blanket around me quickly flew off, with some of the creatures incinerated. Strangely enough, the dark clouds around my mates flew off as well, and they all formed together into a man who fell to the floor before us.
I flamed off.
He was quite the tall man, dark skin, dark hair; looking to be of mid-eastern or even Indian descent.
Bada ran to Idhar and helped him to his feet. He was elderly and not full of much energy or strength. I realized then that saving our airplane from destruction must have been an extremely hard feat for him to accomplish.
Still, with my glowing eyes and scaled flesh, I asked the brigand who broke into the room,
"Why do you try to attack those who can easily burn you into ash?"
The man sat up, holding his left arm which was severely burned, especially his hand which was black, and crisp, saying,
"I come here to stop you because my master sent me. You have injured me greatly! I need medical help! Please, help me! And I will tell you all you want to know!" he said, then passed out from the pain, or from the sight of his grizzled hand.
"I'll take him," Idhar said. "I can still morph into my flying beast, albeit a smaller version. I have the strength. And I will check into the hospital, our hospital, once I arrive there myself as well. I have a rejuvenation station the doctors can hook me to. Search his pockets! Find out who he is, and find out who he works for. I will contact you both in two days' time. My original plan will have to wait until then. Good luck!"
At that, he stood up, morphed into a man-sized, flying dinosaur-like creature, picked up the fallen man, and flew out of the window. I could tell he was laboring severely.
Bada had taken the man's wallet.
Ramesh Amand
He was a citizen of Belarus. Or at least he held the identification of a citizen.
"His address is this building! He lives on the 1st floor. Let's go!" Bada announced.
I had morphed back to myself and agreed.
Taking the stairs, I began to speak,
"Bada! Did Idhar ever tell you who these …"
The stairs changed. From steps into a slide, a slide of ice!
We fell, slid, and wound around to the bottom where I was immediately whacked in the head by a flying block of solid ice!
I wasn't knocked out, completely, but was certainly incapacitated.
Seeing double and laying on my bottom once again, I looked up to see Bada, kicking someone in the face. Unfortunately, the face turned into solid ice as her foot struck, and she fell over screaming in pain. Most likely, her foot was broken.
We were put into a cage, of ice, and slid into the cellar of the apartment building.
I'm not sure how much time passed. My head cleared and I was lucid again, yet my head still pounded in pain. I could at least see straight. Bada, laying next to me, was enraged. She did have the right idea of holding her hurt foot, shoe off, unto the iced bars that were holding us though. Her face was three shades of red all in one. Not pleased in the least.
A woman began to speak as she moved into the light. Total American accent.
"We were waiting for you two! Such a cute couple! Ha! So young and innocent! Idhar has lost his marbles bringing you here! And where is that old turd? Oh, yes, in his private hospital. The one we cannot penetrate. No matter. I have you two now, and being that your powers only work in the spirit world, you cannot stop me. Except for you Druk, of course. But I think your sore head will keep you from turning for a while at least. I am Shiver! I have the powers of ice. And I will crush you. First though, tell me, either of you, what is Idhar planning to do?"
Remembering my dream, from earlier, and how Bada addressed her situation at the time; I knew she could handle this. I looked at Bada and said in a whisper,
"Remember the night I met you? You were using your power. We weren't in the spirit world. Take care of this nasty woman."
Somehow, I knew Bada knew exactly what I was talking about. She stood up, hobbling a bit, looked at Shiver, and responded,
"You really think this redundancy of villain vs. hero is going to work out for you? Never mind. Let's just get to the payoff!"
Shoving her hands forward with eyes glowing sky-blue, torrents of high-powered water flowed out of hands, broke the ice cell into cinders, and blasted Shiver at the same time.
Shiver, having turned to a solid block of ice, was still pushed back from the force and slammed into the back stone wall of the cellar with her ice armor shattering from her, leaving a divot in the stone.
My eyes, finally glowing emerald, eliminating my headache, and I stood just in time for Shiver to send a barrage of ice cycles towards us and meeting them with a blast of fire that melted them away. Bada then ran forward, also seeming to be healed, bounced off the sidewall, and kicked Shiver in the head, knocking her out immediately!
Her skin was blue. And scaled. Her fangs showed.
"Bada, you look gorgeous!'
She looked at her hands, felt her face, and laughed out loud!
We both laughed, and left the apartment together, in our dragon-skin, holding hands.
We decided to go to the "hero hospital" to check on Idhar. We didn't know where we were going, but morphing back into our human form, we remained holding hands and walked the streets all night viewing the beautiful architecture of the city of Minsk.
Just before sunrise, we saw it. A demon. Again, disguised as a homeless man, he looked at us, then disappeared.
Then we disappeared as well.
