The nighttime desert air was dryer than I expected, yet cool, with a breeze blowing in from the northwest. The darkness flooded over us with the night stars being the light that let us see near with the surroundings being like a blanket pulled over your head. Upon landing, after Nidar's snarky introduction, he hit a remote and turned on lights from the chopper, although not too powerful, so we may see one another more clearly with the sand glowing under our feet.
