Although he had no more information on how the rune of logic worked or what the many cycles it contained were used for, Isaac now had a new tool in his possession: His grimoire.
The spellbook cannot analyze a rune and deduce how it works, but it has a useful function that allows you to copy a rune and paste it elsewhere. Isaac had planned to use this and copy parts of the logic rune and test them individually by manipulating their energy and trying to guess how they worked.
And in a very short time a new week passed.
Isaac was in the air halfway between the wild plains and the high plains, near the cliffs next to what appeared to be a flying boulder. On the latter was Artiel currently clinging to the railing surrounding the platform.
The rock descended slowly and gradually to the ground and was lodged in a hollow artificially dug by Isaac. These were the beginnings of an elevator that was based on the principle of its floating aura and which allowed the platform to move slowly and steadily.
He didn't need speed here, after all it was a lift for Artiel. Going fast would only make him throw up for nothing, which Isaac learned the hard way.
To keep him company during the descent, Isaac had decided to accompany him for the first time he used the elevator with a smile. The young man was still trembling and did not dare to look at the ground below.
- "Fortunately Rebecca is not here. You should get used to it, you risk taking it often" Isaac pushed with a smile.
- "I ... am ... fine" Artiel replied with difficulty.
- "Yeah. If you say so," Isaac continued, unconvinced.
- "But besides, why are you not on the platform with me?"
During these two weeks, the two teenagers had finally managed to overcome their fear of Isaac and had started to talk to him and be a little more familiar. Isaac had a somewhat simple aura, although often quite cold and uncommunicative, he was in fact very attentive and often silent. It was something they initially took for indifference and boredom. After all, he was an elf.
- "And risk dying from a fall? No way!"
- "C - fall ?!" Artiel said, swallowing and gripping the handrails more tightly.
- "I'm kidding. I just prefer to float, it's more pleasant" he said at last.
- "I don't understand how you do not get sick while floating so high ..."
- "You'll get used to it. You have to do it often, it's simple. And then, if you have a motivation, it's easier. Next times, you will go with Rebecca" Isaac replied with a smile.
Artiel's face paled slightly. He didn't want to keep using this "elevator" or whatever Isaac called it, but he didn't really have a choice if he wanted to go hunting and be able to eat meat while remaining close to Rebecca. But he also didn't want her to see him like this.
- "We will arrive soon" suddenly pushed Isaac.
Lost in thought, Artiel hadn't noticed that they had crossed the remaining half of the cliffs. The platform began to slow down before coming to a complete stop and finally stand on the ground under the sighs of satisfaction of the young man who immediately jumped to the ground.
- "Oh earth! I missed you" he said, kneeling and putting his hands on the ground.
- "You know I took a long time to do this lift, eh?"
Around the platform were four artillery golems, all seemingly guarding the platform and its base. It was security in the event of an intrusion and a force ready to provide aid to Artiel when needed.
During this past week, Isaac had managed to extract some major portions of the rune of logic and identify their functions. He had thus discovered for example a rune making it possible to recognize the mana signature of an entity, a kind of biometric scan analyzing the mana circuit of an individual.
Like a fingerprint, one person's mana circuit is different from another since it is something determined when they were born and often remained the same throughout their lives.
With the rune allowing to receive voice triggers, he had thus succeeded in creating voice commands to his arcana and runes, allowing the golems to receive direct orders from those Isaac chose.
On top of that, he had added runes to them allowing them to summon black shields to defend themselves, greatly increasing their abilities.
But the most interesting rune he had been able to extract was the reflex rune. Like humans, the brain has a series of pre-recorded movements within their cortex and muscle that allow them to respond immediately without needing to be aware of it.
This reflex rune thus allowed him to program basic behaviors for golems and thus, with an accumulation of reflexes, to give them an increasingly complex behavior until finally obtaining the equivalent of a robot with a program and a routine.
The help of the grimoire in this case was very great. Also for programming the control rune. So in addition to being able to take orders, golems are now able to make predetermined basic decisions without needing to be in the area of influence of the Garden Logic Rune.
This was a major breakthrough since Isaac was now able to deploy Gelom battalions for reconnaissance and thus keep watch over the plains. He was very proud of it. It also allowed him to improve his reactor and give him a series of behaviors and reflexes to be able to manage a possible breach or intrusion.
Another rune that he had also been able to extract and found quite useful was a wind rune that used to reproduce a voice. More precisely, to record a voice in a rune and to play it after. He hadn't had time to see this rune in action in the garden yet, but he was sure he was using it.
For a day, he'd spent his time recording various messages that the golems, his reactor, or his other runes might say. He then spent an evening modifying the voice by altering the runes until he got a more feminine voice. He didn't want to hear himself speak after all, so he decided to go for a female voice.
As for the language of the messages, he had decided to opt for English. Why ? For no particular reason, just out of habit.
Isaac stood up and pointed two golems to the left.
- "You two" he said, pointing two golems to the left. "Record him as an Authorized Entity to Enter."
- "Confirmed" the golems said immediately.
- "Don't venture too far and be back before sunset" Isaac said to Artiel. "They'll automatically block the way once the sun goes down," he added before starting to fly away.
The young man nodded as he watched Isaac leave for the high plains before returning his gaze to the two golems.
A moment later, the young man was running across the plains on his way to one of the surrounding forests.
Isaac quickly arrived in the high plains and immediately made his way to the crater he was using as a combat arena now before landing.
Around, maintenance golems were still in place to maintain the containment barrier while inside, five small earth golems about three feet tall fought with Rebecca.
It was a quick creation he had made to try and train the young woman. Frail and underpowered, their strength actually resided in the rune that had been inscribed on the entire arena and the runestone inside their earth and mud body that kept them alive and regenerated them extremely quickly.
To kill them, their opponent must therefore destroy the runestone circulating in their body in random places or destroy the arena rune. In this exercise, Rebecca had been instructed to destroy runestones using everything she knew as she wanted.
Isaac hovered above the arena and watched the fight.
The young woman had adopted an offensive combat stance based on direct physical blows. Unlike her master who focused on ranged spells, Rebecca had decided to focus on her swordsmanship skills based on Kiril's training.
By following the teachings of Isaac, she had succeeded in reproducing the rune of creation of rock and had thus been able to create a very fine rock staff before extending mana vessels inside and strengthening it at the same time in addition to adding wind runes to give it a certain edge. The 'staff' could be thought of as a sword.
Rebecca suddenly came to concentrate her mana in her feet and propelled herself at high speed, strengthening her muscles in her legs. She rushed straight to the nearest golem and immediately came to slice it in half but missed the runestone. A moment later, the golem's body immediately regenerated and he lunged forward to grab Rebecca's wrist.
Without wasting time, the young woman reoriented the sword and with a quick wave of her hand sliced the golem again, this time knowing where the runestone was. The latter was suddenly sliced in half and the earth that formed the golem suddenly turned to mud and formed a puddle on the ground.
- "One of five targets neutralized" suddenly intoned a voice echoing in the arena.
It could be seen that she had received military training. Her movements were automatic and her reflexes were on point. Although Isaac was not at all in a good position to judge the qualities of a soldier, he knew that in a hand-to-hand fight, she would easily overturn him. He felt more and more inferior the more he thought about it.
Once the golem was destroyed, Rebecca moved on to the next one. In a very short time, all the golems were destroyed. She took a deep breath before exhaling, her gaze serene and her expression calm. His sword suddenly fell apart.
- "All targets neutralized"
- "Training session complete"
The barrier around the arena suddenly deactivated, leaving Isaac to float inside and stand in front of the young woman a few feet above the ground with a smile on his face.
- "Fabulous! You are becoming more and more adept at the runes, dear apprentice!"
- "Thank you Isaac!" she replied immediately.
- "Maybe it's time to increase the difficulty a little, don't you think?" he said with his smile still on his face.
The young woman swallowed. It was true that she had been using the Little Earth Golems for a week as combat partners, but she had a bad feeling. And unfortunately for her, the smile on Isaac's face seemed to prove her right.
- "AC001, admin authentication" started Isaac.
- "Confirmed" answered the voice of the arena.
It was not at all an administrator command related to his World Administrator rank, but he had made sure to code his runes in such a way that they could enter an administrator command that only he had access to. After all, his mana circuit was so complex that it was impossible for anyone else to have it.
The activation syntax was simple. The trigger simply had to start with the unique identifier of each rune followed by the keyword.
- "Set difficulty level to 2" he said with a smile before starting to fly away. "Begin training session!" he intoned once outside the perimeter of the arena.
As soon as he was outside, the barrier closed and Rebecca made her sword reappear, looking all around her, looking suspicious and on the lookout.
- "Training session started"
- "Loading training field ..."
- "Loading targets ..."
