"What is your favourite movie Paikek?" Seanyung wondered, while four of us walked through the streets to the Komorebi park, which was the most lovely place in the Kawaakari city. There was a cafe called Komorebi Cafe there, which sounded very familiar to me.
"It's Dreaming Stars because I like films about magic." Paikek continued as he effused: "The spells are excellent in the movie, and it has a good vibe. I like it when films have a good vibe."
"Kawaakari is a perfect place to film movies because it has that perfect warm weather." Bomyu commented who was walking beside me.
Eventually, we arrived at the Komorebi park, which was the paradise of street musicians and a perfect place to rest. There was a statue of a panda in the middle of the square. When we looked around, we saw some people feeding ducks, some laying on the grass, and some having a good time with their pets. People in the park all had an outstanding style. That's why we all wore matching white converses that day. Seanyung had a black and white striped top, Bomyu had a blue shirt on white trousers, and Paikek was wearing a white sweatshirt on blue jeans. No need to mention, Paikek had his small black bag on, as always.
"This is Komorebi Park!" four of us marvelled at the same time.
"This place is amazing." Seanyung closed his eyes and breathed the fresh air of the park.
"Squirrel!" Paikek gasped.
After a few steps, we stopped to watch two street performers sing and play a song which we couldn't understand. While Bomyu's mouth dropped, Paikek's eyes were widened, and Seanyung was so focused on the performance, he was literally stunned. I couldn't take my eyes off from the performers while they played the guitar extremely fast.
"This is so nice!" Seanyung marvelled as he watched.
For the next few minutes, we kept watching the breathtaking performance. When it ended, we cheered, and we vigorously applauded them.
"It was amazing!" Paikek bubbled loudly.
Subsequently, Bomyu ran towards them with a ten pounds tip in his hand. He bowed down to put the tip into their guitar case.
"Thank you." the street performer thanked in a deep husky voice.
"Thank you. It was awesome!" I thanked them for the show as we walked away.
"Isn't it that thing?" I pointed to the statue as we walked closer to it.
"Yeah right, we should take a picture here." Paikek refused.
"Sure." Bomyu put his left arm around me and his right arm around Paikek's shoulders, while Seanyung crouched down for the picture.
The power of friendship I felt at that moment made my heart warmer, my mind wiser, and my life better. My three friends were there, and we were bonded strongly together.
After taking the picture, we walked through the park filled with ducks while a piano song began playing in the background.
"Oh, look, there's a piano!" Seanyung pointed his hand to a girl who was playing the piano in the middle of the park.
"Wow!" Paikek amazed by the sound of the piano and its combination with the slow breeze.
"Let's listen closely." Seanyung rushed towards the piano player who was wearing a black hoodie and glimmering sunglasses. She looked so focused on the piano as her fingers danced to the notes. Four of us were captivated by the piano melody, which made us feel like the diamonds in the sky.
As the tune got faster, she lifted her head as the sunlight filtered through the trees of the Komorebi park. It was a beautiful moment; nobody was talking but the piano.
"It was amazing." We cheered, and we were all smiling when the performance ended.
"Thank you." She praised, repositioned her sunglasses as the corners of her mouth curled up. Something felt strange at that moment because her voice sounded familiar. However, she wasn't somebody I knew either.
"You sound remarkably familiar to me." I put in.
She glanced at me, and then she took off her sunglasses, revealing her brown eyes. Of course, she couldn't be someone other than the blonde-haired popstar Sonya Soundstrong.
"Does this look familiar to you now?" She laughed, showing her perfect teeth.
"Ahh, this can't be happening!" Paikek squealed and put his hands on his mouth.
"You are my idol, Mrs Soundstrong!" I beamed.
"You can call me Sonya if you want." She smiled back at me, and then she added, "Would you like to sing this song with me?"
"Oh, really?" Bomyu's mouth dropped.
"Yeah, I'm sure you know the song." She started playing a song which everybody in the city of Kawaakari knew. However, her way of playing it made me believe I never heard the song before.
"Yeah, I know, I know! This is the song of a star!" the smiley boy Paikek recognised.
I did not know how to sing, but the magical moment gave me the strength to sing. It was the power of the piano, which was there when there were billions of stars in the sky.
As Sonya played the intro of the song, people started the gather around us, forming a crowd, but still, everyone was silent.
"In this night, the stars are asleep. While the light of a star dreamed, the blind nights of the city lights." with his small deep voice, Bomyu softly sang the first three lines of the Star Song to the piano.
"I feel... you." While shutting his eyes, Bomyu took a deep breath before singing the next line.
In an unfamiliar place, in front of strangers, we sang a song for the first time in the street.
"Remember you and my star song." with his pure chest voice, Seanyung began singing softly, as he continued with a vibrato; "Remember you and my dark melody."
The silent audience around us were all looked focused, listening. They felt the beauty of the song and the strength of our friendship.
"I can't forget this night and this place. I only see it in my dream." Paikek sang the pre-chorus of the song. His voice was perfectly matching with the piano, as his talking voice was the same as his singing voice.
After Paikek's part, my part came, where I had to sing the chorus, so I began singing "Will dreams be memories always? In this world, I can't be perfect."
Sonya heartily smiled while playing the piano because my voice was off-key, but at least I felt the lyrics in my heart. On the other hand, the audience didn't seem to notice.
In the next part of the song, Seanyung hummed "Mm-mm, mm-mm" to the piano, while Paikek harmonised with him. The melody that they made was incredibly perfect, while the wind blew the way the sunlight filtered by the cherry trees.
It was a fantastic experience for us. After the song ended, I looked in the eyes of each of my friends, and I saw the eternal joy in Paikek's smile, infinite serenity in Seanyung's simper, and endless gladness in Bomyu's eyes.
Everyone in the audience started cheering in triumphant happiness, although I was confused because it felt like the song ended hours ago. Bomyu grinned and waved his hands to the crowd.
"Thank you for performing with us." Paikek thanked Sonya.
"I should be the one thanking you. I wouldn't be able to perform the song without you guys!" the famous singer Sonya pleaded.
Instantly, Bomyu sat next to her and effused "I can play piano!" as he played a little bad melody on the piano.
"Nice." Sonya laughed loudly.
On the other hand, Paikek came next to her hesitatingly. He blushed and asked, "Can I have a try?"
He pressed some keys at first; "I'm not sure if this is okay."
Suddenly, Paikek's hands gently started playing when his hands ran through the keys of the piano.
"Ohhh~! Unbelievable!" Bomyu got extremely surprised by Paikek's piano skills.
Creating an uninvented melody, Paikek smiled and let his fingers dance on the keys. He was playing the song called Butterfly waltz by Neal K.
"He is so good! Even better than me!" Sonya Soundstrong admired the way Paikek played the piano.
