Chapter 1: Dahlia
" Mom, I am going to school now. Don't wait for me later, we will have a group study with my classmates and I will be their hired tutor" I smiled at my mom who's now preparing my lunch box. I am saving my scholarship allowance for my younger sister's education since the business is not always selling.
I am Dahlia Manchesters,I am 17 years old and I am studying at the most prestigious school here in Lakestone City. I have a younger sister who's 4 years younger than me but I bet you will not like her because of her attitude.
If you're asking why am I doing at that prestigious school? It's because it's my parents dream. Studying there makes me overwhelm because it makes them happy. So I am doing my best to be the top in the class so that my scholarship will not lose. I also teaches other classmates but also they will pay me.
"Why are you even doing that?" My papa asked me while wearing his cozy pajamas. By the way it's still 6 in the morning . It's so early but I need to go to school early because I still need to teach one of my classmates.
"Pa, I want to buy something so I am working hard to buy that,okay?" I said to him while putting my shoes.
" I can buy it for you then,you don't have to exhaust yourself." He said
" You're papa's right. We can earn and buy it for you." My mom said while agreeing to my father.
" Ma,pa….. Just buy it for Calla. My sister's birthday is coming so buy her a gift. I'm going now" I said and waved at them. They are the most thoughtful parents.
Walking down at street wearing the beautiful uniform of Saint Mary International School makes me wanna shout and say 'Hey,I'm a student at SMIS.' If you're thinking why I'm proud,it's because only the real geniuses will passed the entrance exam and some of the students there used their money or connections to be able to study there.
I'm now inside the bus which goes to SMIS. Playing HyunA's – I'm not cool on my playlist,I don't know but it makes me hype and excited. I'm near,I can finally see the big university. The feeling of excitement is drowning me.
"Woah!! This is such a big school,Literally!" I said in a very small voice. I am now walking through the entrance of the school to go to the registrars office to see where is my classroom and what is my section and schedule.
"Hi,ma'am. I am a new student here,I don't know where's my classroom is and can I know what's my schedule is? My name is Dahlia Manchesters." I asked the lady on the Registrar's office. The woman find something on the folders near her.
"Oh You're the one who aced the entrance exam? You know what you're the only one that I know who aced the exam since the time I started I worked here. Goodluck on you're journey. You're section is 11-A and here's you're Schedule. Goodluck on you're first day." She handed me a piece of paper which I assumed my schedule.
"Oh,Thank you and goodmorning,ma'am." I smiled at her and closed the door. I saw a bunch of students who's holding the same paper I'm holding. They must be all looking for their classrooms. I looked at the clock and It's quarter to seven and I must immediately find my classroom.
Phew…. It's 6:55 in the morning and I am now here at my classroom. The ambiance is a little bit different on my old school. It's a little hard because I don't know who to talked to because I'm a transferee here.
"Goodmorning class,I am your adviser for the whole school year. My name is Mrs. Samantha Diaz and I will be you're math teacher. I know some of you are new here so let's introduce ourselves,shall we?" Mrs. Samantha said happily. She must be a walking smiley face. She's not old yet.Maybe she is in her thirtees.
I am sitting at middle of the class so I'm paying attention because I may be called next. So a little minutes have passed, It's my turned now so I stood up in front and saw all of my classmate's faces. All of them are looking fancy but not all of them are that looking good. I stood up in front and start introducing myself.
"Hi,I'm Dahlia Manchesters, I am new here and let's be friends together." I must introduced myself well. I smiled at them. I am about to go to my seat when Mrs. Samantha asked me.
"So you're the student who aced the exam?" She said merrily. The whole class looked at me amusingly.
"Uhm yes ma'am? Hehe. The exam was kinda easy I guess?" I said to her and while I'm roaming my eyes to all of my classmates,there is this one guy who caugh my eye. He must be so popular in this university because he's handsome and the one that makes me look at him is his green eyes. The piercing eyes of him is digging on my whole personality. I must not look into his eyes again because I'm not sure that I'm going to go out of his hypnotizing eyes of him.
I shookt my head to let go of what I'm thinking right now. "You can now go to your seat." She said and I immediately go to my sit. Phew finally I can now breath properly.
Hours have passed,I still don't have no one to talk to. It's break time now and I'm now eating here alone at the cafeteria with my cute lunchbox. I still need to go to the faculty to ask how can I join the taekwondo team of the school. Ever since I was a child I am learning taekwondo for our safety. Since I am the first-born of the family,I feel like I need to protect my little sister so I learned taekwondo . I am a black belter in it.
" Okay class,there's no class for the afternoon. Afternoon class is for all for you to roam around the school especially those students who transferred here. You can also join the clubs now so that you can now start.That's all for today." Ma'am Samantha told us before leaving the classroom.
I'm walking down the hallway to go to the faculty,I want to know where is the room of taekwondo club so that I can sign up. The feeling of being inside an airconditioned room after walking into the hot corridor of our school is so satisfying.
"Good afternoon,ma'am. Can I have a minute with you? I just need to know where is the room of Taekwondo Club? And how can I register?" I asked my adviser. Hey eyes is like the eyes of confusion. She now began to speak.
"Hi,Ms. Dahlia? Am I right?" She asked me and then smiled at me. I just answered her by a nod.
"Are you sure that you want to join this club? You know,you aced the entrance exam,you can join on any academic club like math club or literature club." She held my hands as if she's convincing me to join any of the academic club.
"Uhm,I'm really interested at taekwondo club since I'm learning it since I'm a child. To be honest,I didn't really studied a lot since I have to help my mom into our business but I really really want to join taekwondo club." I confidently answered her. She seem shocked with my answer but she seem satisfied with it.
"If that's what you want. Here's the registration form,kindly sign it up and I will tell you where the room is. Sign it up." I started signing the registration form. It feels right to sign this up. I gave the form to her.
"If you're ready then I can now show you to the taekwondo club. Please follow me." She stod up and all I followed her.
"Can I ask? Why are you so into taekwondo ,Ms. Dahlia?" She asked me while still walking. I'm facing her back,she did not look at me while asking that. She must be upset because I didn't join the academic club.
"I want to join because I want to protect my family from any other guys who wants to hurt them." I said She now faced me with a wide smile.
" Here's the taekwondo club and I am the head of it. Congrats!!!" She said and lead me to the door.
