Chapter 5 - 5 - A deal of The Underworld

Life was unpredictable, but nothing in my life could top the situation I was into. My body was slowly getting devoured by the sea before a majestic wall of light emerged and spawned a spirit woman from the middle of it. Her words were blaring through the water and easily found their way into our ears while our voice couldn't even make a shriek.

"I have long awaited for this moment," her surreal yet majestic sound slapped me hard like a strong high wave on the beach. I was unsure about the feeling I had when she popped out of nowhere if there was one to begin with.

My fear was dissipating as soon as she spoke but my lack of excitement was apparent when dealing with someone as mysterious as her. I was solely rendered senseless in her presence, and it seemed that Aria couldn't even change her sight direction in the meantime.

There were so many questions I wanted to ask directly toward the woman in my vision although it might be a huge failure if she couldn't even notice my voice. Even so, I urged myself to take chances anyway.

She had the appearance of knowing everything about the afterlife and we might get a guide of things we should do right now, considering the both of us were not ready for this bad fate. Heck, if she could return our souls to the body and made us alive again, I would beg her for it if possible.

'Who are you?' I started to flap my mouth open, hoping her to spot my effort.

'Where are we?' I continued my volley of questions that refused to stay in my head. She seemed to notice what I was trying to do but only stayed silent as a reply.

'Please answer me! I never wanted any of this!' my tone was getting harsher than intended, but I hoped she wasn't getting offended by it.

Unexpectedly, her naturally stoic face that was shrouded with mystery was replaced with a sympathetic frown directed at the both of us. She extended her hands as if making a motion to calm us down despite it didn't help our condition in any amount.

"Fear none, as I am here to help you. However, I'm afraid you do not have much time on your side," she spoke before pointing her finger to my almost disappearing legs. I noticed my body was already approaching the point of no return and we didn't have much time for every question.

At least we knew she intended to side with us for an unknown reason and I shouldn't be interrupting before she explained everything to us. I held back my words and nodded my head as a sign for her to quickly utter anything she was trying to say. Continuing her speech, she strode her way to our body in a swift manner.

"I have an offer to propose for the both of you, and in return, I want you to achieve my wish," said the lady. I was full of doubt when she said something about us helping her. How could we possibly do something to her benefit in this condition? I could barely feel my hip and stomach at the moment since the disintegration had reached that point. I stared at her as the wait for her next words was getting so much uncomfortable in a short time.

"I will send you to the world below us..."

She started with an unbelievable announcement.

"Find my body there then restore the world to the state where it belonged before. And for that, I will grant you a new life."

Words after words kept flowing until she finished her astonishing sentence. With each word spoken, the more confused I had become with the knowledge I had not possessed yet. What world? What body? Wasn't this form in front us her body?

But then I realized her offer in the finishing words, a new life. I didn't know what kind of life she meant when she said that, but I was sure of one thing, WE could be alive again. Our time was running out with our necks being on the last fort before our heads would be disappearing. Even though we didn't have enough explanation about either our death and the offer, we would get the very thing we needed, a chance to live.

"Will you take my offer?" her assuring tone hit me again with the same vibration as before. I didn't have to think about it, this was a deal no one should ever miss. I immediately nodded so hard with every muscle I had left on my neck. She seemed to be pleased with my answer before turning to Aria.

"How do you consider it, young one?" she asked with the same solemn tone. I glanced towards Aria to make sure our answer was similar, but then I found out that my assumption was terribly wrong. She returned my gaze, shaking her head with a frown and dejected eyes.

'Enough,' she spelled slowly, a word I never expected to come out from the same mouth of a person who refused to let me die alone.

What do you mean? I wanted to ask her that if I could, maybe shout if it wasn't enough to ask her reasoning for refusing such generosity.

'What about... the promise?' I let out those words before I could properly think about any of them.

"Shall I let him go alone on his new life, young one?" the lady's words breezed again in our presence, asking Aria again for her decision. Aria had a staggering expression when she heard I would go alone. She looked at me again with an unexplainable nervous expression before closing her eyes and nodded her head too. If time let us later, I wanted to thank and say sorry to her sincerely.

"Then, I apologize ahead for barely explaining," she spoke while her hands were doing one pushing motion and suddenly the white floor below us opened from the center.

"And I apologize again, but I had the urgency to do this," her voice ringed again but that time it was somehow unconvincing to me. To do what?

"May the luck stays by your side," as soon as she finished, the light floor opened in a flash and made our remaining head fell into a blue view with a combination of white. I truly remembered this color as I couldn't find it anywhere else, it was the sky, we were falling from the sky.

The sound of breaking wind became the inhabitant of my ears while my mouth was disintegrating. The ashes from the previous sea corpses we saw were also flying down in the clear sky. My mind was only filled with the shock I felt and she was also scared when I caught the glimpse of her face.

Soon enough, We were met with the fluffy white cloud that overwhelmed our vision. After passing the thick cloud, I finally learned how enormous they were when I couldn't find Aria anywhere within my sight.

The sky had also shifted to a darker shade of blue, marking an incoming storm from it. My head kept spinning again and again until I eventually spotted her again. But by then, she was being too far from me and she continued getting further and further.

'Ariaaaa!' I screamed in my head, obviously not being heard by her. She seemed to also not realizing what was happening and unable to do anything about it. The landing ground was getting more closer and I caught a familiar place in my vision, the sea.

Next to it, a small village was built there near the beach, but I kept on passing through it so far while she was fleeing to the opposite direction of mine. It was by then I also witnessed the rotating cloud that formed one big circle which blew strong winds to separate us.

'Noooo!' my mind remained to shout inaudibly as our separation distance was increasing greatly. Eventually, her head was gone from my surveillance as I was falling directly to the ground at a high speed. Below me, another bigger village stood there and I was making a straight way onto it.

Before I could even witness the impact, everything suddenly went blank.

Once again, I was stuck in this blackened state.
