Chereads / The Power of Evil / Chapter 12 - 12. Flower

Chapter 12 - 12. Flower

The power of evil is a very powerful force that comes from the spirit within. Very few have these abilities. That power is very rare because it requires a lot of energy from its owner. It also grows stronger when its owner is in a tight spot.

"Farewell, our knights," murmured ichiro and jirou who also bowed their heads with sadness.

Suddenly a blinding light came from prince Ken's body. Jerry and everyone there closed their eyes with their hands.

"Wha - what?" wonder Jerry was still covering his eyes with his arms.

The blinding light slowly faded away. Everyone opened their eyes and saw Prince Ken. Jerry ran over to Prince Ken's body to check it out.

Prince Ken opened his eyes slowly. He sat down with Jerry to help him. To the amazement of the spectators, it came back to life. He must have also thought that he was really dead.

Suddenly a trumpet sound was blown out and the inhabitants were asked to immediately leave the gold-sword arena. Ichiro and Jirou, who were at the time, were also very curious about what happened to prince Ken.

"Jirou, we're forgetting something about the golden sword competition," ichiro said when he got out of the competition. Jirou looked at him seriously. "The games will be considered a draw if no one dies," he continued.

"How is prince Ken?" princess Alice asked prince Ken. He went straight to the competition arena infirmary to get words from Ichiro and jirou as palace messengers.

Princess Alice was shocked to hear the news. This is the first time Prince Ken has been hurt in a golden sword competition.

"I'm fine. But I wonder why I was told to lie down like this?" said prince Ken with a laugh of shame.

"They're worried about you," said princess Alice, handing prince Ken a warm cup of tea.

Prince Ken did not know where to begin the conversation. He looked at princess Alice sitting up against the chair casually. Princess Alice, as she expected, was different from the women she had often met in the aristocracy. Her fiance's confidence appeals to her.

"Are you worried about me?" asked Prince Ken. Princess Alice just put on a fake smile. Prince Ken knew from the very beginning that princess Alice did not like him. However, princess Alice's feelings might have been softened if prince Ken kept trying.

"I'm worried about you as my fiance."

Princess Alice has never been able to open her heart to anyone. He has often left the palace without permission, but not a single man can fit his criteria. Yet, so many men tried to approach her because of the beauty radiating from her face.

"If you need anything, just call the waiter," princess Alice said. Princess Alice stood up and left the room.

Prince Ken did not prevent it. As her fiance, she has never once had princess Alice's attention. Maybe next time he'll be able to get her.

Prince Edwin went to his father to discuss the golden sword competition. There are no winners coming out of there. That means, no one will ever get a degree. According to tradition, a title is not given if the match is even.

"Can't we change the tradition, father?"

"No."

"Why is that?" asked queen Erlina, who was sitting next to King Luis.

"The changing of the royal tradition would be very dangerous for the kingdom itself. If we give ita shot at even today, then at the next competition they can manipulate the match so no one dies."

Prince Edwin has put the king's words into his mind. The king's words are very true. Even a slight change occurred, resulting in irresponsible behavior.

After meeting the king, prince Edwin asked Jerry to come see him. This time, he's going to talk about his swordsmanship.

"I applied what I learned at practice, prince. However, I know nothing about prince Ken's sudden death."

"How come? Explain the previous game. Didn't you do the same?"

Prince Edwin was in the audience when Prince Ken was dying. In fact, he watched every second of it.

"Nor did I realize it, prince. I just shut up and it just happened."

"Really? You really didn't know about this?"

Jerry's thinking about what could have been connected to it. Until finally, he had his memories.

"Just one thing, prince."

"What's that?"

"Happens when I'm in a pinch."

At that, prince Edwin remembered firsthand the rare spirit force called "the power of evil." He had read about it in a history book when he was in high school. His vast knowledge undoubtedly gave him plenty of time to learn new things.

Jerry was released from Prince Edwin's Chambers. After closing the door, he saw princess Alice heading out of the palace. Intrigued, Jerry followed her.

Jerry saw princess Alice walking into the park and sitting on the bench there. Just stood there staring at her nails. For some reason, his feet seemed to make a move on princess Alice.

Undaunted, Jerry tried to greet princess Alice. "Lisa, what are you doing here?"

Princess Alice came out of her reverie and saw Jerry right in front of her. "Uh, nothing. I was just chilling out and watching the sights. Flower."

"Why do you look so restless?" asked Jerry curiously.

Princess Alice also didn't know why she suddenly felt uneasy after meeting prince Ken. There's no way she's worried about her fiance.

Princess Alice looked at Jerry still standing. Before long, her next gesture shocked Jerry. She gave Jerry a big hug.

"Jerry, I don't know why. Why am I worried about him?" princess Alice said as she squeezed the shirt Jerry was wearing.

"What are you talking about?" Jerry asked with a small laugh. "He's your fiance," he went on.

Princess Alice let go of him and then looked jerry in the eye. "Jerry," call princess Alice in a soft voice. Jerry raised him next to his eyebrows. "The reason I can't love Prince Ken is ... I love you, Jerry."
