ROSE P.O.V.
The sound of my ringtone woke me up, I rubbed my eyes as I tried recalling the earlier moments, Lorenzo was here, he read a book for me, I fell asleep on his shoulder! But now he has left already. My cellphone rang suddenly, startling me, I yanked it off the hook.
"Hello?" I asked breathlessly.
"Rose?"
"Hey, Grace, What's up?"
"Well, we were planning on having dinner together at the restaurant near, wanna join?"
"Sure! That sounds fun. What time should I be there?"
"Oh, don't worry Zain and I will be there anytime and we will pick you up,"
"Okay, then."
"I'll meet you soon, bye."
"Bye, Grace."
I decided to wear a dress not too short and too long which covers my skin beautifully, its pink color sits upon my skin as soft petals, its hue the many pinks of a rose garden. I took a look in the mirror, my reflection looked perfect for the dinner.
My phone buzzes, I read the text, "We're outside the dorm," from Grace. I grab my purse and slip on my heels quickly.
Zain was waiting outside, soft music playing in his car, I can't help but glance around to find Grace sitting inside the car as she waves at me.
"I'm impressed," Grace comments looking at me, and calls for Zain to join us. He opens the backside door for me, "You look beautiful," he smiles and gets inside the car.
"Ready?" he asks Grace and she nods. During the drive, I sit back and stare out the window. When we arrived at the restaurant I cringed at the number of people, of course, it was Sunday.
When we walk inside I feel like everyone is staring at me, even though they probably aren't. Grace grabs ahold of my hand and pulls me along as they walk to a booth in the back.
A woman strides over to our table and takes our order. Zain and Grace ordered their drinks whereas I settled with a coke. Minutes later she brings our drinks and I hear a whistle as a group of people walk over to our table. I recognize Violet and Renee as they came closer which was followed by Adrien.
"Woah, look at you, looking so pretty tonight," Adrien says, making me blush.
"Really! Pink suits you," he compliments and I thank him quietly. Honestly, I don't know how am I supposed to reply to him after his beautiful confession through the book but I will have to tell him the truth by the end of the day. Violet and Renee grab a seat in front of us.
My eye caught up with a familiar face sitting across the booth behind us, it was Shyla, I could see her face clearly through the space between Violet and Renee's shoulders. She was with someone, I couldn't see the face of the guy, but he was wearing something black. Shyla moved a little to peck the cheeks of that guy and as soon as the guy's face came into my vision, the pang of jealousy hit me hard, Lorenzo's arms were hooked around Shyla's shoulder. I look at them once again before I can stop myself and instantly regret it.
The leather-clad women come back to serve our drinks and take our orders, I go with a regular pizza and everyone else orders hot wings. Lorenzo was just sitting with Shyla, she was babbling something that I couldn't hear properly, he wasn't eating anything. I wondered if he could still hear my thoughts.
"They have the best wings here," Adrien informs me and I smile at him.
"I'll just be right back," I excused myself from the crowd on the way to the restroom. After getting inside the restroom I stared at my reflection in the mirror, and I saw a teenage girl getting jealous over a "vampire". May I add a hot one?
The restroom's door clicked open and Shyla entered inside, her face plastered with an annoying smirk, I could feel the anger boiling inside me. She washed her hands keeping eye contact with me as she spilled water intentionally on my dress and reasoned, "Opps, it was by mistake," but then added, "It looks shabby on you," she took this opportunity to throw an insult on me and started walking outside the door.
"Excuse me? What did you just say, Shyla? Because it sounded like an insult to me," I cried out.
Shyla, who had already passed outside, stopped and turned to me, "I called you shabby, for that is what you are. Look at you dressed in rags. You are worth noting."
"How dare you!" I shot back my expression turning to disgust. Suddenly, Shyla has ripped away and flung up against the ceiling. Gasps echoed down the walkway. Shyla's body slammed against the roof as if thrown upwards by an invisible force. Then she fell to the ground, silent and unmoving.
I gasped, as soon as I realized what happened, then I turned around to look at the gathered crowd, they were as surprised as I was.
"What's going on?" asked an authoritative voice through the muttering voices, drawing my attention in its direction. Adrien rushed forward and stopped before me. He looked aghast as he assessed the scene.
"What happened here?" he asked again, I opened my mouth but no words came out, I could still feel the green power radiating from my body. It looked like green fog, all around me, but it didn't make me feel weak or miserable, it made me feel more powerful.
"That girl, she did something!" a bystander pointed at me with an accusing finger. "She hurled the other girl into the ceiling, she did something, I tell you!"
Adrien quickly rushed over to Shyla, he felt her pulse and then stood. "She is only unconscious," he announced, there was no sign of relief in his voice.
"You two," he called Violet and Renee who had just arrived. "Carry her to the hospital, make sure she is alright when she wakes up."
"Try making them forget what happened," this time, Adrien pointed towards Grace and Zain, they gave a slight nod. But, how are they going to make them forget?
He then turned to me, I was so confused, I couldn't even defend myself because I know I did it.
"Rose, you're coming with me." Adrien took my hand and took me outside the restaurant. Too shocked to protest, I allowed myself to be ushered away. Shaking my head, I blinked several times. What had just happened? Everything moved so fast that I could hardly make any sense of it.
Adrien looked in my direction, with an apologetic look, "You used magic."
His words rang like bells in my ears, "Magic...how?" I stuttered, how was it possible that I had done magic? I chewed my lower lip, trying to understand it. One minute Shyla was standing near the restroom door, the next she was slammed into the ceiling.
"I should have told you the truth before your birthday! This wouldn't have happened, it's all my fault," Adrien admitted, leaving me confused.
"What Adrien? Tell me! I cannot understand anything…" I pleaded, my eyelids already becoming wet.
He took my hand in between both his hands, I looked at him. "I can show you." I gave a slight nod.
He closed his eyes and said, "Wake the past, let it become the memory of her own."
