Kenny read through the book in one night, although he got the book for training he didn't dive into it head first as he portrayed in front of his father, he was rather calm and went about his daily routine of working out and running
While running he was thinking to himself 'in this world, people used mana to produce or control many different elements like fire, wind, water, wood, and so many more but it didn't mean that just because one used fire, they couldn't use water or wind, it was just that if one trained in fire element for a while, he could grasp fire related skills more quickly and water related spells were a little harder to learn but hard to use together with fire so there was just no point'
'cultivators strived for a perfect battle set consisting of offence, defence, movement and investigation so they couldn't waste energy using 2 conflicting elements as it would be a waste, but for me this is not yet a problem as this is my first skill but in the future if I have a choice I should proceed carefully' after his workout he had is share of potions and went to his room to read the book
after almost 8 hours of reading he was finally done, it was about 3:00 in the morning, he took a deep breath and analysed the contents, the first 2 level of this skill was to go with the wind and understand how it flows and how it changes direction and the footwork to follow the wind was also mentioned, the footwork was important because he had to reduce his interference with the wind and also to move lightly yet fast
he said to himself "no wonder it's considered so hard, and it's still the first 2 levels!"
he went to sleep and woke up a bit late, he met with his parents to have breakfast and chatted with them for a while, he thought 'I don't mind my parents, they are the only ones who genuinely care about me and I have to get used to this feeling' he still hadn't let his parents into the depths of his heart but it just needed time
can you blame him though, he was an orphan back on Earth where he had to fight for his own food and his so called "brothers" at the orphanage would steal his share whenever they could
thinking about this he told his father "father, I'm going to start training in the Vayu breeze skill starting today"
his father nodded at him and said "I can't help you in training as the understanding should be something you should figure out but don't push yourself too hard, when you pass the second level come to me so you officially start learning our family's battle art"
Kenny asked "why can't I start that along with this training?" but he already knew the reason and as confirming his thoughts his father told him "because learning and battle skill would need you to be strong and also to move agile and be nimble, this much control of your body can minimize many small mistakes and help you train properly"
Kenny nodded, got up from his seat, bowed to his parents and left
After he left, his mother Sarah looked at Kenny worryingly and asked his father "do you think he will be ok? Isn't he pushing himself so much when he can live comfortably live without doing anything his whole lifetime?"
John sighed and said to her "you may be right but he is a boy after all, he has ambitions and wants to get better for the sake for the family, the other day while he was training I heard him talking to himself that he was doing all this to bring glory to his parents, us and wanted to be the best in the country to protect our family name"
Sarah heard this and her eyes turned red, she said "our son is the most precious treasure we have, we have to help him however we can"
John puffed up his chest and said proudly "of course, he's our son after all, we will help him anyway he wants"
Kenny did say all that, but that was only because he got to know that his father was looking at him while he was training one day and felt that if he didn't give them a reason for why he was pushing himself like this, they would grow suspicious
Kenny went to the courtyard instead of the backyard as there were many plants here to help him understand the direction of the wind better, he also remembered the basics of how winds are generated and every basic things he learnt while in college on Earth
As he started to remember and exchanged his views with the manual and found it similar, the whole pint of the first stage was to understand the concept of wind resistance, drag, lift and other basic elements
And before he knew it, in a week he had already mastered the first level, understanding wind
