Chereads / My Miss Fortune System / Chapter 39 - Mediate the Unfair Bet

Chapter 39 - Mediate the Unfair Bet

'What is this?' Mike was a little panicked inwardly.

Despite what happened, he let out a slight sigh of relief that the wine didn't spill on him. 'I got an instant misfortune because of that skill? Luckily, I didn't embarrass myself in front of everyone. My side quest could fail if that happened.'

[Misfortune transferred successfully. The next chance 75% success rate. Fortune Point increased by 10.]

'O, lady system, the most almighty one. Please forgive my mistake for calling you a psycho lady system a few moments ago. I mistook you for one, but you are luck itself.' Mike was grateful to hear the lady system give him the good news. Although he had absolutely no idea why it was declared successful, and his Fortune Point was returned.

Even so, he still needed to solve the current problem in a cool and eye-catching style.

"Well, it's a little surprising that you gave me a broken glass, Young Master Austin." Mike put the glass down on the table with a neutral expression. He realized that a lot of attention was on them right now.

'Hm, now it can be said to be under the spotlight, right? Then, I need to make my move now.' Mike decided to fulfill Yuna's request at that very moment while time and situation were very favorable.

"Huh, what? I didn't-" Even Austin was incredibly confused as to why the glass could just shatter for no reason.

Mike didn't want to hear excuses because it was his time to talk. He just cut Austin's words off. "I let you go for a while because you might act like a gentleman, but I don't think so. I don't know what you mixed in that wine, but you want to give it to my Yuna? It's ridiculous. Not only did you bully my Yuna when I not there, with your friends to help you, but you also forced my Yuna to bet with you which was very detrimental to my Yuna's side?"

Mike looked at the man in front of him with a cold gaze. He then gave the tray full of food in his hand to Kisa without looking back.

"What? What did you say? That bet—" Austin was about to say something more.

Unfortunately, Mike cut Austin's words off again as if it didn't really matter. "Excuses are only made to avoid the truth. I know about that ridiculous bet and here I am, to meet a stupid loser with no manners who dares to bully my Yuna. Now that I'm here, what do you want to tell me? Isn't it time for you to apologize to my Yuna?"

Austin was taken back. He didn't expect that Mike would raise the issue here, in front of everyone. All of that happened when he hadn't implemented the scenario in his plan!

"Oh my... A commotion here? Two young masters fighting over a beautiful princess? A love triangle, or... Even so, I heard about a bet. Can I know more about it?" Minako unfolded her folding fan and walked over with sparkling eyes.

She was intrigued by the commotion. Mike had already created some interesting events by dealing with some of the young masters.

"Did someone say a bet?" Kannon looked at Mike, then at Austin.

Some people were a bit surprised that Kannon had appeared out of nowhere. Everyone just realized that the host was suddenly near Mike and Austin.

"You move really fast when someone says a bet, Kannon-sama. You have a strange interest as usual, prince of bet and trade." Minako greeted Kannon with a mysterious smile.

"I'm honored for your compliment, Minako-sama. But, aren't you not much different, trouble-loving princess?" Kannon returned the greeting with a brilliant smile.

Mike glanced left and right. He didn't expect that these two unusual people had somewhat unique nicknames. But that did sound a bit odd to hear, or more like a troublemaker instead.

"Ufufu, Yuna-sama, why didn't you tell the truth here to help your boyfriend, Might-sama? He stood up for you and was furious because you were the reason." Minako looked at the stunned Yuna.

"You two should not interfere. This is only a matter between me and this man, and Yuna-chan as well." Austin frowned with a dissatisfied expression. He felt that he would only be at a disadvantage because everything happened so suddenly, out of plan.

At that moment, the glass in Austin's hand shattered suddenly. Most of the wine spilled down Austin's pants as if he'd just peed.

"O-ya." Minako covered her mouth in surprise.

"Ugh!" Austin growled in annoyance to see his pants wet.

"Hmm... Kannon-sama, what could allow a wine glass to suddenly break like that? Isn't this wine Belien Annata?" Mike pointed to the spilled wine on the floor.

"No, this is just ordinary wine. Belien Annata is the newest product that is given to each guest with an invitation card. But, I don't know what could cause the wine glass to suddenly break like that. Austin-sama, did you do something to hurt Mike-sama out of jealousy? It's not a secret that you're after Yuna-sama." Kannon frowned and put her hand to her chin. He questioned Austin with suspicion.

"I didn't do anything! I didn't even use my ability." Austin immediately defended himself.

"Hum, Austin didn't do anything, nor the Mighty-man. The wine glass just shattered, just like before. But, it's a quality glass. What's really going on, hmm? I testify that no special abilities interfered in this." Murai took a glass of wine and examined it carefully.

"Hmn, forget about the wine. They're just unlucky. Yuna-sama, can you tell us about your bet with Austin-sama? You know, a fight might soon break out between your boyfriend and his rival. Or, maybe, a duel." Minako immediately made the subject return to the previous topic. She was more interested in that matter.

"Allow me to talk. Actually--" Yuna began to briefly explain her bet with Austin. Which was very unfair. It was as if she was being pressured and taken advantage of by Austin and his friends.

Then, she deliberately acted like a pitiful girl asking her boyfriend for protection.

Mike really wanted to roll his eyes because Yuna was very good at acting. Besides all that, he tried not to feel embarrassed because Yuna was holding his arm, and it touched something soft by accident. Or maybe, Yuna did that on purpose!

"All right, that's really unfair and it's as if you were really bullied by Austin-sama and his friends, Yuna-sama. One against many, huh... But, well, back to the bet. I, Horikiri Kannon, will mediate this. Yuna-sama finally brought out her secret boyfriend, thanks for this. Then, Austin-sama, also brought a girlfriend." Kannon stretched out both hands forward like a referee.

Then, he stared strangely at Austin's girlfriend. "But, isn't she Watanabe Kiyo from Osaka? Would you allow your girlfriend to go out with another man, Austin-sama? I believe you are the fourth man who is also her lover."

What Kannon said seemed to instantly shake the hall. Whether it was a man or a woman, everyone was surprised to know that a young master with honor was willing to share his girlfriend with another man.
