I shut the door behind me as soon as I entered like I was trying to hide from his presence. Or maybe I was trying to hide my rapidly pounding heart like I feared the man, which I clearly didn't. I despised him yet not so much after him having saved me from losing my honour.
I placed my back to the door and sighed with relief. His dark aura and demeanour had caused some fright which I was able to release in the privacy of my own room. My clattered mind had realised that I was already dressed in my funeral clothes.
"To have to wear this foul dress yet again," I muttered in anger. "This can't get any merrier."
'Of course, it can't, child,' said the little voice. ''
"Do you not understand sarcasm? If so, then please just do keep quiet."
'How would Iā'
"Just shut it!"
After saying it, I realised I had screamed to the walls and the sound had definitely penetrated out the door.
