"Congratulations!" we yelled at the group of sprinters from our university.
Their many smiles spoke louder than their words of thanks. The coach was having a hearty time with them, laughing and joining the conversation. The female athletes were happily talking or gossiping about the day, while the male athletes either played board games or talked about happenings in life in general.
A shadow towered us as the two of us hurdled for warmth. We retracted to see green eyes shimmering through the now shaggy blond hair. He was wearing the team's white jacket and black shorts along with his mixed collection of medallions. And the first thing he did was pass the jacket onto Mel's shoulders, eyeing me from the side as he left with her. A surprised Mel questioned the change and he just said he had to talk to her about something.
