"What in the world happened?" he asked me. I bit my lips hard as I massaged his head and the spot where he had been injured with the little balm. I pressed his head on the floor so that he wouldn't be able to see anything even if his eyes were closed now.
He winced from the pain and grabbed my wrist to stop me from squeezing the sore spot. I stopped for a second, realising the pain he must be in, but the fear of him finding that I was harbouring powers that shouldn't be known by any human at all made me get back to work.
I could see the balm taking its immediate effect on the hole on his head, sealing the spot and leaving no scar at all. Now I would have to make up a legible lie that would hopefully work against his memory, unlike the last time Lucas had done it. I prayed that what he said about it working out when he was asleep would work.
"Lest," Aidan called and I froze immediately.
