February 1986, 02, Sunday.
The trees stood bare as if their leaves were disrobed by the misty winter of fort Kochi. Seagulls seemed nothing less than a silhouette in the pale morning sky of Arabian sea. Pearls of sweat streamed through the dark muscular flesh of fisher men as they towed the Chinese nets. The fish market in the beach resembled a beehive. A group of morning joggers were seen busy doing various cardio vascular exercises in a children's park adjacent to the beach. The aroma of camellia leaves in boiling water and ripe plantains fried in coconut oil from a nearby tea stall pierced my nose. It was a hectic journey of 697 kms from Chennai to Kochi. The Intercity Bus Express of
Chennai-Kochi has just dropped in the bus station before 5 minutes, the bus station offers a 360 degree view of fort kochi beach and its enchanting habitat. I blowed some hot air into my spectacle lenses and rinsed the mist with the edge of my pulpit robe. The time in my wrist signaled 6:30 am. I sunk my arms into my pocket and took the paper out .
Dear Fr.Kennedy,
In the Name of the Father, And the Son , And of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Our ministry comes from Christ through the Church and belongs to the whole people of God. The gospel calls all Christians to be ministers in word and deed. So it is the privilege of every Christian to be a steward of the gospel of God's reconciling love. Keeping in mind the apostolic advice that all things be done decently and in order (I Cor. 14:40), the church provides for the appointment of senior pastors. Accordingly, the Bishop of the Kochi Diocese of the Church of South India appoints you to serve as Senior Pastor of: St. Francis, CSI Church (Vasco Da Gama Church) w.ef. February 02, Sunday 1986.
