Early in the morning at Mt.Kumotori, a family of four was scurrying around, each minding their own business.
Kamado Kie, the mother of two children, was doing her best to take care of the household. While Kamado Tanjuro, the father, was out in the woods chopping trees to gather wood to make charcoal.
The two children, Kamado Kiyomi and Kamado Tanjiro were still in the crib, asleep.
"WAAAA~~WUAAA!" A loud sound of crying resounded in the small wooden house.
'mmuhn...Ugh!!! Shut Up, little bro! Don't you know that girls have to take their beauty sleeps?!' I complained in my mind.
Reaching out my stubby little hand, I wanted to smack him right on the forehead to stop him from crying. But before my hands had touched his forehead, I stopped myself in a cold sweat.
'... Yeah on second thought... that's not a good idea. His head described in the anime was basically "harder than a freaking rock".' I sighed inwardly.
So instead of smacking him on the head, I reached out and gently rubbed my hands against his hair.
Sensing something on his head, Tanjiro stopped crying in confusion.
'There, there. We'll be fed very soon. You don't have to cry.' I tried comforting him, but what came out of my mouth was a bunch of garbled nonsense. Which was, actually kind of cute.
"Wua~wuwuuuuwuu~buaa! Euhua~!"
"Pfft.. hahahaha! Oh~ little Kiyomi, thanks for helping me take care of tanjiro. I have way too many things to do." Mother quickly walked towards our crib and started feeding us.
After being fed, Tanjiro turned towards me and started to stare at me intently.
'Nani? Why are you staring at me, stupid little bro?' Confused, I could only stare back.
After a while, he got tired and fell asleep again, which left me there with a bunch of question marks above my head.
Deciding to ignore it, I started my daily breath training. After being adopted by the Kamado family, I did baby things for an entire month before my Lil brother was born. During that month, I had to heal my injuries because every time I tried to 'breathe' I would feel an acute pain that spread from my chest to the rest of my body.
I started calling Kie and Tanjuro by mom and dad in my mind. It wasn't very hard considering that my previous parents were jerks that never cared about me. And it really was hard not to start liking the kind couple when they work hard from dawn to sunset, but somehow they still have enough time to play with me and to take care of me.
Tanjiro was born on December 28, and apparently, I was born on September 12, so that makes me older than Tanjiro by three months. One day my adoptive parents just barged into the room to talk about it in front of me. So.... that's how I knew my birthday.
'So let me get my facts straight, my body was already two months old when I crossed into this body. And when I crossed, it was the month of November? Does this mean that whoever I am possessing right now was also abandoned when she was only 2 months old?'
I shuddered at the thought of my one-day experience to the frozen hell.
Doing my best to push the distracting thoughts out of my head, I continued to practice total concentration breathing. Now, I can hold on for barely an hour before my body would start to collapse.
The desperation I felt when I first crossed had stimulated my potential and that allowed me to gain an insight into total concentration breathing.
But now, under normal circumstances, holding on for an entire hour was already great progress.
<>Hello there! 0-(>o<)-0 <>
"Buah!"
A sudden voice that had just sounded in my head startled me.
'What the heck? I'm sure I just heard someone talking.' I scanned the room.
<> (^-^) <> A darkish grey panel with an emoticon popped up in front of my face.
'..... System?'
<> Ding Ding Ding! That's correct! This is your system package! Please sign for it. <>
'Ok....? Well, explain yourself? I guess?' Stunned by the sudden appearance of a system, my brain stopped functioning for a moment.
<> Well, first of all, please sign here, you can just imagine it with your mind since you cannot move your body. <>
Another grey panel appeared in front of my stunned self as I subconsciously thought of the way my name would be written If I had written it on a piece of paper.
<> Thank you for using the System Delivery Express! Now, first of all, there are only two functions of this system, a status page, and a novice gift pack that gives you two-five random things. You can call your status page by simply thinking 'status'. Nothing else. Well okay, that's it. Have fun In this world! Bye! Bye! <>
'...The frick was that?' The system delivery person came and went so fast that I didn't even have time to think about what had just happened.
So I just laid there in the crib, using a few tens of minutes to process what I had just experienced.
Once again deciding not to think too much, I decided to check out the system.
'Status'

========================================================
At least the status page is very detailed. Sadly the attributes module is not applied. It would be very convenient to be able to see your progress of your body strength, and not just skill proficiency.
Good thing that it still has a chance of being added in the future.
With my attention turning towards the novice gift pack, I hurriedly commanded the system to open it.
The status screen disappeared from my sight and a lottery with five different spinners appeared in front of me.
On the wheel, it had "Talents", "Items", "Thank you for your patronage", "Skills", and "System Modules".
Each section was equal. I stared at the "Thank you for your patronage" for a good minute or two.
My luck was not considered bad, in fact, it was quite good. However, there was this one incident that traumatized me.
I played this game called Golf Blitz, and even though my skills were impeccable, I would always get third or last place by some chance. I never got past the 2:1 Games played:Win ratio.
But that was only one time in my life! It can't possibly be any worse than a 1/2 ratio.
And with confidence In my eyes, I spun the wheel.
