Chapter 16 - We Gave You The Silver Dragon, So It Was Only RIght For You To Help Us Out, Right?

Those people were obviously coming for him, so Mitchell didn't bother to go over. Instead, he stood on the spot quietly and waited for them to come.

Soon, that group of people arrived in front of Mitchell.

The woman in the lead was shocked to see the corpses strewn all over the ground, but she still pretended to be calm and asked the servant beside her.

"Is he one of the thieves who stole our things?"

The servant squinted at Mitchell as if he was trying to remember what had happened.

Mitchell only found this sight to be amusing.

Although he had half of the human's bloodline, overall, he still looked more like an orc.

The bandits who had stolen the cart were all humans. None of them was an orc.

And this attendant actually still needed to think about it.

However, something made Mitchell even more shocked.

The servant actually shook his head and said in confusion,

"At that time, I only cared about escaping, so I can't remember how they looked very well."

The leading woman started to look at Mitchell even more suspiciously, as if she had already determined that Mitchell was one of those bandits.

Meeting her eyes, Mitchell said calmly,

"Kid, open your eyes wide and see clearly. Isn't the difference between me and those humans obvious?"

The servant was shocked when he heard that, and so were the others.

The female leader of the group even sized up Mitchell before saying with a faint smile,

"Why? Do you have one extra hand or one extra foot? Or are you an immortal? I don't see the difference between you and the bandits. Speak up. Where are all the treasures in the cart?"

Hearing this, Mitchell finally understood.

These people were here to find trouble with him.

Mitchell asked coldly instead,

"Is it a must for me to answer your question? Moreover, who knows if these things really belonged to you?"

When the woman heard that, a trace of anger flashed across her face.

In her opinion, if this matter had nothing to do with him, he just had to say what he saw.

But now that he was covered in blood and the corpses of bandits were all over the ground. How could this matter possibly not have anything to do with him?

Since he was unwilling to come clean, he most likely had done something wrong.

Instantly, the already hostile ambiance fell to the freezing point.

Little Mitch on Mitchell's shoulder had regarded Mitchell as its father, so naturally it was paying constant attention to its father's emotions.

Obviously, Mitchell wasn't happy now.

Hence, Little Mitch decided to stand out bravely by flapping its wings and yelling at them.

Hearing the cry, the woman was slightly taken aback. Only then did she notice the little silver dragon that had been crouching behind Mitchell's shoulder.

"T-this is the Silver Dragon!"

The woman was slightly startled before she pointed angrily at Mitchell,

"You still dare to say that it has nothing to do with you? It must have been hatched from my silver dragon egg!"

That made Mitchell speechless.

He wasn't an unreasonable person.

He only insisted that he couldn't remember because the other party dared to lie even after they saw that he looked more like an orc.

In Mitchell's opinion, this was equivalent to a scam.

However, now that the other party even knew that there was a silver dragon egg on the cart, this had proven that they were the owner of this cart of treasures.

Even so, the other party's cultural attitude was clearly somewhat problematic.

Therefore, Mitchell decided to make things difficult for them too.

"This silver dragon had hatched by itself. You can take it away if it's willing to leave with you."

Seeing that Mitchell seemed to be speaking the truth, the woman muttered softly,

"Then, I shall take it."

But as soon as she took a step forward, Little Mitch put on a fierce expression. It flapped its wings and howled loudly.

The woman was scared by it instead.

It was not her fault.

Dragons were inherently intimidating.

It was normal for the woman to be frightened by it.

However, when the woman soon realized that it was just a baby dragon, she felt utterly embarrassed and immediately pulled out the whip at her waist. She was going to use force.

Right then, the old man who had been observing behind the woman the whole time, finally walked out and stopped her.

"Young Mistress, it's useless to resort to violence. Forget it."

"Forget it?" The woman frowned and said grudgingly, "It belongs to us in the first place, so why should we let it go?"

The old man shook his head slightly and lamented,

"You might not know this, Young Mistress, but this young dragon probably already took this gentleman to be its parent. It's useless even if you insist on taking it away now. It won't listen to us."

The woman's entire body froze. She seemed to understand the crux of the problem.

Seeing that the woman was no longer throwing a tantrum, the old man turned around and bowed slightly to Mitchell,

"Sir, my lady has offended you. Please don't take it to heart."

The old man's words were rather reasonable so Mitchell's expression eased a little.

Seeing that, the old man immediately continued,

"I am the butler of the Leon Family. This is the young mistress of the Leon Family."

At this point, the old butler paused slightly to see Mitchell's reaction.

If Mitchell looked surprised or worried when he heard the Leon family's name, things would be easier for them.

Unfortunately, Mitchell was completely unmoved.

He had never heard of the Leon Family.

Seeing that Mitchell didn't respond, the old butler continued very naturally,

"Forgive me for being blunt, but this silver dragon egg, as well as this entire cart of treasures were originally the property of Leon Family. However, since the silver dragon has broken out of its shell and recognized you as its master, that could be considered to be fated. Since that was fated, there is no harm in giving this silver dragon to you."

At that, the young mistress immediately paled and she was about to say something.

However, the old butler seemed to have eyes on his back as he stopped his young mistress immediately.

The young mistress instantly ceased when the butler stopped her.

It was clear that the old butler was placed in an important position within the Leon family and had a high status.

The old butler continued,

"In itself, this cart of treasures was only a smokescreen set up for the silver dragon egg. This silver dragon is still the most important thing. To tell you the truth, the lady of Leon Family is waiting for this silver dragon to save her life. We can give the silver dragon to you. We only hope that you could help us by making the silver dragon cast a healing spell on our lady. As long as you are willing, the silver dragon is yours. Furthermore, we, the Leon family, will give you other great gifts of appreciation."

After the butler finished speaking, Mitchell began to ponder carefully.

He had to say that the butler's words really made great sense.

Initially, Mitchell had already indicated that they could take the silver dragon away if they wanted to.

However, they knew in their hearts that the silver dragon had already recognized him as its master so it was useless even if they took it.

Hence, the old butler changed the topic and gave it to Mitchell right away.

Since they had already given him the silver dragon and didn't mention the treasures again, it was only right for him to help them out, right?
