Chapter 5 - SOFIA

I knotted my tie over and over again trying to get it into the right angle. I hate ties. I finally got it and put on my blazers. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked weird. I grabbed my phone, my school bag and purse before running down the stairs.

The kitchen smelt of pancakes and eggs. My dad sat at a corner already dressed for work in his normal attire of suit, black suit. He was staring at his phone while also stuffing his face with pancakes into his mouth.

"good morning dad" I said walking into the kitchen and seating on an island stool. His head shot up and he stared at me.

"morning sweetheart, looking good" I stared down at my clothes. God, I hated the uniform so much. I began to eat my pancakes. Vincent and Alessandro came down next, Alessandro was dressed in suit similar to my dad's but Vincent was dressed in a sweat shirt and sweat pants. Alessandro ruffled my hair as he passed by me, muttering a good morning.

"where is your suit?" my dad asked Vincent who was already inhaling food. He stopped eating momentarily and stared at my dad.

"wasn't feeling suity this morning" he replied.

My dad narrowed his eyes at him and Vincent shrunk back in his seat "don't step two feet into the office in that"

Vincent smirked "can I step one foot?" I almost choked trying to contain my laughter. Alessandro was grinning but only my dad didn't get the joke because he dumped a cup of water on Vincent's clothes. My jaw dropped.

"now you can't wear those to work" he stood up and dusted imaginary dust off his trousers. He walked over to me and kissed my forehead" have a great first day, don't let the twins disturb you"

"what do you mean by twins?" I yelled after him but he was already gone. I turned to Alessandro for answers.

"the twins go to the same school" he informed.

My eyes went wide "they're in college"

He chuckled "the high school and college are in the same compound but separate blocks, sports and lunch are joined though" my heart sank. Surviving the twins at home is enough but seeing them every day in school is going to be a disaster. The twins came down the stairs sluggishly. Talk of the devils. They were both dressed in the same uniform but their ties were just hanging round their shoulders and Giovanni was dragging his bag making it slap every step that he passed.

"I can't believe you guys started breakfast without me" Gio whined before throwing his bag across the room. He grabbed my plate of unfinished breakfast, added more syrup and began to gulp it down.

"you guys are driving Sofia, so don't be late" Alessandro said earning a groan from Theo "Vince, go wear a suit". Vincent rolled his eyes and just walked out. Theodore finished his breakfast and motioned for me to follow him. We walked to the garage.

"let's go low key" he took the keys to a Bugatti. How is that even low key. Gio came a few minutes later, licking a jar of Nutella with a spoon. I gave him a disgusted look and slipped into the back of the car. Gio slipped in and stuck his tongue out at me. I turned to face Theo who was glaring at me.

"seat belt" I rolled my eyes and put on my set belt. We sat in silence for a minute and Theo didn't start the car. He was just staring straight ahead.

"um...Theo the car doesn't drive itself, you have to turn It on" I told him. He turned to me and gave me the stink eye.

"one: shut it and two: we have things to talk about" I blinked twice "our school isn't like your former school so be careful, stay away from boys and ii mean it. Don't think about them, look at them or anything. If you're in school, stay in school, no skipping. You have to stay with your assigned assistant for the entire day, you seat with us at lunch and wait on the bleachers after school because we have football practice" I stared at him just blinking occasionally if I remembered because his face was so close to mine. I could almost smell his cologne.

"anything to say Sofia" he growled. I shook my head at him. He rolled his eyes and turned to face the front of his car "I prefer the use of words".

"I und...erstand" I stuttered. Gio threw his empty jar of Nutella into the car's waste basket. I stared at him in shock. Who could lick a whole jar of Nutella in a few seconds.

"can we stop at MacDonald's?" Gio asked as Theodore started the car. Theodore seemed like a chill guy but truth be told, he scared me a lot. He drove out of the garage and into the street. I just hoped we weren't late because the twins looked like people who didn't mind coming late. We drove down the street and took a sharp turn. We just kept turning until we came to a neighborhood with houses which weren't as big ours and yet not small either. Theo stopped in front of a large one coated peach. The lawn was well trimmed and I could see a bush of roses. Theo honked twice and the front door opened. The boy I met before on the stairs walked out and came to the car. He was dressed in the same uniform as ours but his tie was done unlike some individuals I know. He opened the passenger door and slipped into the seat. He turned to face me with a bright smile.

"hey Sofia, right?" he asked.

"yeah and you're?" I replied with a small smile.

"Drake McKenzie" I nodded and he turned back to face the road. Theo spoke to Drake in low tones as he drove, Gio went on his phone and I went on mine. I had gotten no message or call form my best friend Mia. I was worried and I knew the only way to contact her was through her mum who is friends with my mum and we aren't really on good terms so I have to just wait for her call. Theo stopped at MacDonald's for Gio to order. After his order, we were finally on our way to school.
