Sillis and Velyn had taken the liberty of bringing in the supplies from Jimmy's cottage, the ones they had all set up prior to trying to capture Kaylan for coins. Zaniva accompanied the Silvanir Sisters, and agreed that they should all meet at the center of town, where the statue of the heroic figure Elraith stood tall.
"It's not funny." Belva spoke at a smiling Jimmy. Her eyes saw Langdon from afar, the adventurer with blue eyes, carrying a sack of books on his own. Although the bookstore wasn't far from the statue, it was too much of a coincidence for the adventurer to pass by.
His eyes didn't notice her and Jimmy.
"It's been a while since I seduced a man." Belva admitted.
"Tis but a joke, Belva."
"I know that! But…." she paused, holding up her finger against her lip. "It's been a while."
"Yeah, and I bet you fell in love with the last man." Jimmy laughed, facing the air. He turned to the succubi, her eyes furrowed and her mouth pouted. "Oh."
She sighed. "Can you not-"
"Okay, okay." Jimmy raised his hands. "Sorry for that." He said, the scarf till covering his mouth. He soon started to look at his hands, before snapping his fingers.
"What are you doing?"
"Trying to get my eyes back to normal again" Jimmy kept on snapping his fingers, then paused. He sighed, took in a deep breath and snapped his fingers once more. The impact and the large sound went through his ears, as he felt his snake eyes roll and slowly morph back into his usual eyes.
He shook his head. Good, guess I'll have to snap harder from now on.
Belva watched the entire thing happen in front of her. "Finally, but wait." she went up to her feet, looking at his eyes. "What color are your normal eyes?"
"Green."
"Yeah it's normal here." Belva assured. "You don't have to worry. Say Jimmy." she started. "I hate to pry, but where's your father now?"
Jimmy became silent, staring at her before he spoke. "Far from here, far from my reach."
"I may not be human but I'd be mad too if someone dared infused me with unknown magic." Belva said.
"You know?" Jimmy raised his head. "For once I'm going to believe you."
So far things have been quiet, Belva spoke of what has occurred ever since they've accepted the bounty of Kaylan, the thief. Malvagia's demons haven't been anywhere to be seen…
"People of this town! Of Gilvenheim!" shouted the voice of a middle aged man. It was the Town crier, and his voice prompted Jimmy and Belva to look to their left, a crowd was formed, as the Town Crier, wearing a withered brown shirt, was speaking at the top of his lungs.
"I have received news from Werth! There has been word of members of Thousand Cuts! The group of dark minded thieves and rumored traffickers! They have been tainting these holy lands for the longest time!"
"And what does the King have to say to this!? What about the mentioned Demi-humans that have appeared far in the West!?" said one citizens.
"People you must understand! Though the demi-humans differ from us, but Thousand Cuts has proven that are no better at all."
Jimmy and Belva heard the exchange of words between the Town Crier towards the people.
"Have you ever heard of Thousand Cuts before?" Belva asked Jimmy, rememberin that Kaylan mentioned them prior to trading him to the guards for his bounty reward.
"I don't go out much before I met all of you, so that says something."
The Town Crier spoke again. "We must voice our opinions to the King, that demi-humans should be left alone. Who are we if we were to treat them as actual monsters?"
""But what about demons!?" spoke one lady. "And I'm not talking about the metaphor, I'm referring to the actual ones! The same ones who temp men, women, boys and girls to commit sin!?"
As the lady spoke of demons, the crowd began to rise up, with many of them exchanging their own set of words.
"They've been in the North with their influence! Messing with the bright minds of the citizens here!"
"They tried to possess my children!"
"They've disturbed the peace of those living in the villages South of this town!"
"Jimmy!" Sillis voice pierced Jimmy's ears, as he looked behind to see her and the other succubi with their items, as well as….a horse
"Where did they get that stallion? Jimmy thought about the brown stallion. He turned to Belva. "Come on Bel, let's go."
"Bel?"
"I call you Bel, you can call me Jim." Jimmy smirked as he grabbed her hand tightly. Though his grip was strong and warm, she looked at the crowd of humans, furrowing her eyebrows.
I was never one of the demons they have mentioned, Belva thought. I may seduce them to committing wrong, but it's only because I was told to! She soon turned her attention to her fellow succubi, gaining a wagon filled with their supplies that was packed at Jimmy's cottage from before.
"Where'd you get the horse?"
"Let's just say Velyn and Sillis had to do some "persuading" for a particular farmer to lend us his horse. We shall still take up Mr. Drummond's offer. Where shall we find him?"
"He should be hanging out by the Drinker's Shack…" Jimmy said.
"Then let us get going then." Zaniva spoke, clinging onto his arm again as he led the group and the horse with the carriage of items. Sillis followed, as with her older sister by a few seconds, Velyn. Belva allowed the group to carry on without her for the next few seconds, as she continued to monitor the humans speaking to the Town Crier
"Bah!" shouted one man. "Tell that to Ulvania where two Cerrits were reported causing chaos!"
Ulvania? Belva thought, a country or a city? She never paid attention during her time as a succubi on Earth. It was always finding the most handsome man before seducing him and taking what he owned, along with dragging him into committing sin.
All she knew know was this was the Kingdom of Gilvenheim, and this town was called Sepwick.
She turned towards a roof, hundreds of meters away from her, was the sight of a seemingly distorted figure. It looked to be similar to the distorted demon she and the others fought at Jimmy's cottage. After staring at her with red eyes, it disappeared into the air.
She widened her eyes in surprise. We must be careful from now on.
