Gerald and Lith were sprawled out on the grass. They looked toward Detan hoping he would get up. Hoping the wounds weren't as bad as they looked.
The rabbit looked down at them. "You didn't think that you were the only ones protected by a god did you?" He casted a spell toward the bandits that made their veins bulge and turn a rusty orange. Their eyes slowly clouded over with a thick red layer, making their eyes resemble that of the rabbit's.
Gerald and Lith looked at the envigored bandits and knew what this was. This was the same way they reacted when they got buffed by Detan's spells. They got to their feet and hurried over to Mina and Jaycee. They couldn't act as wildly as they did before, they no longer had the advantage.
The bandits surrounded them. They were outnumbered. Mina stood in the middle with the other three in a triangle formation around her. She had got the system just last night, so she only had a basic restoration spell. The spell worked slowly, healing wounds over a longer period of time. The staff made the spell stronger, but she still had no attacking power so she had to be protected.
Although they were still worried about Detan, they had to kill these people first if they wanted to help him. Jaycee sent the flying knives into the air, as she wielded her fan. The bandits took turns kicking off the ground and sending a slash of their sword before another one took their place. They were like piranhas taking turns to rip the prey into pieces.
The buff given by the rabbit god seemed to enhance their speed. They attacked from all angles, giving them no time to relax. Shortly after the onslaught began, Gerald was hurt. He was unable to keep up with the enemy's speed and took a slice to the shoulder. He could no longer lift his arm and was forced to defend with only one arm holding his sword.
The bandits noticed this weakness and immediately took advantage of it. They focused their attacks on him, each one more ferocious than the last. Jaycee tried to use the floating knives to support him but the bandits kept her locked down in a flurry of attacks. They dashed in and out of her range making it impossible to help the others.
Mina cast a spell with her staff, causing a faint white light to cover Gerald. It stopped the bleeding and the muscle started to grow back, but it would take some time.
Jaycee knew this couldn't go on, if it did, they would die. She was the strongest of the group and had the most experience. She had to do something.
It was at this moment while Jaycee was desperately thinking of a way to survive, that Lith heard a ding. There was an shining box in the bottom of his vision. This had never happened before but he thought that the timing of it was weird. Something would pop up right in the middle of this dire situation? It couldn't just be a coincidence. He decided to open it. He had always had quick reactions and was able to multi-task easily so doing this while blocking the leaping bandit's attacks was easy for him.
He opened it and a small window appeared. It was a messaging function? He didn't want to tip the enemy off, so he continued to act the same as before on the surface while he followed the directions in the message.
A bandit was occupied with the fight. He had just returned from an attack and was now waiting for another opportunity. He was exhilarated to take revenge for his fallen comrades but even more excited when he looked at the two beauties in front of him. Although one was a bit young, he had never been picky. He would never expect that one of the fallen comrades he was trying to avenge would sneak up behind him and stab him in the back.
The dead bandit had a hole in his forehead from one of Jaycee's flying knives. The blood had stopped flowing out and had left a gruesome line of dried blood down his face. He rose to his feet unsteadily and shambled over to the encirclement. As he approached the bandit from behind, he unlatched a curved dagger from his belt and held it high in the sky. With no emotion on his face, resembling a dead fish, he brought it down into the bandit's neck.
"GAH!"
Blood surged as the dead bandit brought down the knife repeatedly, like hammering a nail. The man's eyes bulged in disbelief. This happened in many places around the encirclement, shaking their formation. The bandit's had never heard of something so magical as dead corpses coming back to life, they just thought that their friends were turning on them. The dumber ones attacked anyone around them in 'self defense', while the more quick-witted ones realized that only the slow ones were their enemies.
The rabbit god shook his head and started yelling at them. "The slow ones are your enemies!"
"No don't fight each other! What are you doing!"
"Finish them off! They're exhausted, come on!"
There was no hope for these idiots. Being a god, he had access to information these bandits didn't have, such as knowledge on necromancy. So he was surprised when the enemy knew how to use it but it was still likely they would win. It was the psychological attack of their friends coming back to life and trying to kill them that lost them the battle.
The bunny sat down and watched his men run around like headless chickens. He propped his head up with his hand as he started to think. 'This battle has shown me how pathetic these humans really are. I'm a beast god! I shouldn't be stuck with idiots like these! Even with my blessings they still can't defeat a group of four children. What a mess... on the other hand, their god should be dead by now. That means I can just kill them myself and I wouldn't be breaking any rules! After all, there is no rule against killing creatures that don't belong to a god! HAHA!"
The rabbit god gave out a creepy laughter as he stood back up and started to walk over to the group, hoping to finish the job. Only... he couldn't move his feet. He looked down and saw black tendrils coiling around his legs. They latched on tightly. He tried lifting his feet and even jumping, but the harder he pulled against them the harder they squeezed. With his legs nearly losing all feeling he was forced to stop.
He looked over to the side and still saw the body of that god laying a pool of his own blood. Surely he is in no condition to cast such a spell? What would be the point, maybe he knew it was going to finish off his followers after he died and wanted to buy them a little extra time? Pointless! Even if he bought them a few more seconds with his little tricks, they'll never escape him, a beast god!
Feeling that he had seen through the enemy's plan, he calmed down and smiled. His teeth were razor sharp, so the smile only made him look creepier. He'll just wait patiently until the spell wears off, then he'll tear them limb from limb right in front of each other! He'll force them to watch as he slowly eats their friends!
A black spear shot his back and pinned him to the ground. The rabbit's face blanked as one spear after another shot into him from behind. The body of Detan laying in a pool of blood turned to smoke and vanished.
Detan floated in the sky above the camp with a line of black spears behind him. With no expression on his face, he shot a spear down. Hitting the rabbit accurately. With every spear, he aimed for a different limb. The stomach first, then the right leg, then the left, the the arms, before the monster was pinned down securely. Detan reached out his hand and summoned a long and curved black sword. He landed, and walked in front of the rabbit god.
The rabbit god was thoroughly defeated by this sneak attack. Every part of it's body is pinned down. Even the legs it's so proud of can no longer move an inch. It spits blood out of it's mouth and asks with spite, "How... are... yo-"
Detan swung the sword down with a flash, and it was over. The monster's body was suspended by the spears, while it's head settled on the ground below.
