Standing outside of the building, I walk straight to the door. I'm in too much of a hurry to return the security guard's greeting. I rush up the stairs to the second floor where the cafeteria is on the right. I rush to the door but slow down on my way in.
My eyes roamed over all the people in the room until it landed in the girl with pale skin and red hair. Her pink lips form a bright smile as she waves me over.
"Good morning." I whisper as I sit in the seat across from her. She was wearing a baby blue dress suit with white flats and her blonde hair curled. Her arm of the company requires being dressed formally.
She seems to enjoy it.
"Morning, wash your hands first. We only have thirty minutes." I nod and walk to the sink in the back of the room. After quickly washing my hands, I rush back to the table. "Dig in." I smile and pick up the sandwich placed on my side of the table.
"Oh, did you finish with the budget for the new project?"
"No talking while eating and yes, I finished it yesterday. The head of management wants to put me in charge of a different project." Her voice lowers and her smile is replaced with a look of frustration.
"But you've been doing so well with this project. So why would she want to put you somewhere else?" I put down my half a sandwich and picked up the orange juice on the table.
"There's this other project that the new boss will be paying close attention to, she asked me to work on it after I sent the email with the budget planning last night."
"New boss?" I remember the text messages from this morning…
"Yes, she'll be the new head of the creative arm of the company. Which you are under so she's your new boss. I heard she's really good looking as well." I choked on the orange juice at the words that left her mouth.
She smiles at me but the cogs are turning in my brain. "Really?"
"Yeah, but not as good looking as you." She smiles wider and I choke on air this time.
"O -oh." I look at the time to see when I have fifteen minutes. "We should probably leave soon." She nods and continues to eat her sandwich. I do the same not forgetting about her compliment.
A few minutes later we finished and threw out the remaining trash. "I guess I'll see you at lunch today?" I ask as I put my bag on my shoulder.
"Yeah, I'll see you then." She smiles and takes her leave. I follow her out the door and we go our separate ways. I take the stairs to the fifth floor while she takes the elevator to the seventh floor.
After going up a number of stairs I'm finally in the hallway of my department. Walk past all the fancy decorations and couches until I'm at the glass door leading to the work area. "Morning!" I look over to where the voice came from to see the new intern, Maria.
"Hi, Maria." I walk to my desk that's on the right corner of the room.
"The new boss will be here in about 5 minutes." I nod and unlock my computer. We're now working on an advertisement for a sports equipment company. All members of my department are to design one poster, the winner will be the one to work on the video and deal with all the designs.
I'm hoping it's not me, cause it's gonna be a lot of work, but if I do get it then I get some extra cash so I need to do my best on this poster.
A lady walks in after a moment of silence in the office. She had long legs, and dark black hair. Maria quickly runs up to her and I stand up realising that she must be the new head of our department.
"Hello everyone!" Ken gets off his phone while Georgia and Ally stand from their seats. "My name is Kate Taylor, but you can all address me as Mrs. Tate."
"She's married?" Ken whisper's to Georgia who nods her head in response.
"You can all get back to work, but I'll need one person to show me around." Ken, Georgia and Kelly sat down quickly, I was about to sit when she pointed at me."You. In the jeans jacket." I look around to see if anyone else is wearing a jeans jacket other than me.
"Me?" I asked, seeing that I'm the only one in a jeans jacket.
"Yes you. Come quickly, I don't have all day to waste." Her attitude stinks. I can already tell that we won't get along.
I put on an awkward smile and walked towards her." Follow me, please." I walk back out the glass doors and into the hallway. I was about to take the stairs when I realized that she stopped at the elevator.
"Do you expect me to walk up and down those things?"
"Sorry. It's just that I'm used to it." I walk to the elevator and get in after her. Her posture and attitude pisses me off. I can bet she's one of those people who think the world revolves around them.
I roll my eyes and press the button to the third floor. This is going to be hell for me.

After going around all seven floors of the building, I'm finally back in my seat. It's an hour until lunch and I haven't started my poster as yet. I think about asking Tesla to cancel but I won't get to see her until tomorrow because of how busy we both are.
I take out my phone to send her a message.
Me: Hey Tesla. Would you mind canceling lunch today? I really need to get my poster started.
Tesla: Yeah, sure. I guess I'll see you tomorrow.
Me: Do you have any plans tonight?
Tesla: Yes actually. I'm supposed to meet your new boss to discuss the budgeting plan.
Me: Ok. I'll see you tomorrow then.
Tesla: See ya.
I'm not as worried as I was before seeing that Mrs. Kate is married.
But she's so uptight and self centered. And I've only known her for a couple of hours. So that's definitely saying something.
I know I shouldn't judge people but I can't help it when it comes onto people like her. I drop my phone in the process of putting it on the table. Being clumsy is definitely the worst.
I start my poster by planning my design. Hopefully I get this deal…
