The atmosphere became more awkward after what Mrs Smith said. Jasmine did not know whether or not to be happy about what the woman said.
Maybe if she had said these words before the poisoning incident. Or if the elderly woman had said these words before the day she forced her to make a compromise and drop all the charges against Jane Allen.
She would have jumped up in excitement and hugged her if these had happened in the past. And this is because she so much wanted the elderly woman to accept her back then.
Too bad no one could turn back the hand of time. The milk has been spilt so there is no turning back.
"I am sorry," Mrs Smith said soberly. Her words caught Jasmine off guard.
"I know the way I treated you in the past was wrong and I have come to regret my actions a lot. I am aware that no excuses are enough reason for what I did so I won't bore you with why I did what I did...," Mrs Smith was so humbly as she apologized.
