After about two minutes of hesitation Jasmine finally collected the glass of milk from Jane's hands.
"Thanks," Jasmine said reluctantly. She didn't drink the milk immediately but held it in her hands.
"The milk will be more effective when it's warm so drink it up now," Mrs Smith said when she saw that Jasmine wouldn't drink the cup of milk Jane prepared for her.
"But...,"
"It's ok," Mrs Smith assured her with a smile. Jasmine stared at Jane's face and then brought back her gaze to the glass cup in her hand. After about a minute of hesitation, she drank the cup of warm milk.
Jasmine took her time drinking the milk. Mrs Smith and Jane stared at her doing this like they were watching a live show.
Lilian immediately went and take the empty cup of milk and the tray away after Jasmine was done.
