In this country, Eskal, we only celebrate our birthday once on our 6th birthday. That means today is my biggest and only birthday party. Father said the Archduke, Karl Von Sylphid is coming today. He might even bring along his twin daughters. The 3 Dukes will be coming too: Marke Von Drais, Cane Von Drinter, and George Von Wilheim. It feels rude to say their whole name, but this is only in my head. No one is able to read my mind, right?
Maybe I should head to the garden to practice magic first. I have just read a book about magic yesterday and I'm wanted to see it so bad.

Alright, what magic should I use? Wait, how do I use magic in the first place? If I'm not wrong, then I should be able to feel the "mana" circling my body first.
Got it. It felt kinda tickle. Now, let's see the next step is...
Ah, imagine the magic you wanted to do and then chant.
"{Fireball}!"
Instantly, a fireball the size of my fist appeared and flew towards a tree, and the tree burst into flame.
"Oh no! {Waterfall}!"
Water appeared above the tree and poured over it. The fire was put out, but water is now flooding the whole garden.
"{Absorb}!"
It didn't work this time. My father is going to kill me if he finds out. What to do?
"{Vaporize}!"
I chant a random spell that I don't even know if it exists or not. To my surprise, the water vaporizes and the ground is now as dry as it was before. Phew.
"Clatter, clatter, clatter."
Hmm? Someone is coming?
From around the corner, a girl came into view. She seems to be my age. Who is she?
Upon seeing me, the girl was surprised and tried to hide behind a pillar.
"Just come out, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm Ethel Von Cromwell. And you are?"
After hearing my voice, she shyly came out from behind the pillar and stood before me.
"I'm Rinne Von Sylphid. So you're the main character of today's party?"
"Yes, it's me. So where is your sister? I heard you are twins."
"Oh, Leanne? She's meeting your mother. She said she's a fan of her beauty."
"Oh, OK. Why are you here?"
"I wanted to get some fresh air. Other boys keep flirting with me. I know they don't really like me. They just wanted to be part of my family."
"That's sad. I don't think you're ugly though. You are an angel. They're stupid to only want money and power of your house."
"Thank you. You're the first person to ever said that to me." Rinne chuckled.
"Really? I think that I'm not the first though. Anyways, I'm practicing magic. Can you sit on that bench over there? I don't want you to get hurt."
"Alright."
After making sure that she's far away enough, I started practicing again. This time, I'm going to use {Flight}. This is going to be hard because I will have to imagine myself flying like a bird.
"{Flight}!"
Wow, I'm floating! But how do I control where to fly? Maybe I should lean over in the direction I want?
Oh, I was right. Now I can fly like a bird. To land, I only need to gradually cut off the mana I'm feeding to my feet and hands and let it go back to circulate around my body. Alrighty.
"Wow, you can fly? I wish I could use magic..."
"I could help if you wanted to fly."
"Really? I want to! Thank you!"
"Give me your left hand. I will circulate mana around your body too so that both of us can fly."
She lent me her hand. Her face seems a bit red. What's wrong with her? I'll ask her later. For now, let's focus on this.
"Alright, let's go!"
And we took off to view the city from the above.

After some sightseeing from above, we landed back safely in the garden. The party is about to start so I wanted to go back as soon as possible.
"Thank you, Ethel. My wish was fulfilled."
"It's nothing," I replied.
Suddenly, she leaned over and kissed me on the cheek.
"Eh?"
"That's... my thank you."
I could feel both our faces reddening right now.
"Ethel, Rinne! The party is about to start!"
My mom is calling.
"Let's go, Rinne."
"Un."
I held her hand and led her inside.
