"You are right about that Matt, you are very right, we will be adults soon and we will have to come to terms with our futures respectively." said Ollie.
"But I think that you're going way too far, you're not yet done with studying, you haven't had a change in life yet, so I think that you should take things slowly for one, one day at a time, don't look down on yourself too soon." said Ollie as Matt looked at him and nodded.
"You're right dude, thank you." said Matt as he smiled and Ollie smiled in worry, judging from Matt's tone it was clear that he was done talking about this and Ollie did not feel like Matt had fully resolved this thoughts of his.
"Anyway, I still need a rematch, you played dirty." said Matt as Ollie laughed.
"Yes, yes I know, but not right now, it's already late and I'm getting tired." said Ollie as he laughed.
"Alright then, we need to schedule a rematch." said Ollie.
"Okay, when do you want us to have a rematch?" asked Ollie.
"I don't know, do you have any ideas?" asked Matt.
"Well the sunrise is always exceptionally breathtaking and I love watching it since I always get up early." said Ollie as he smiled.
"Oh really?" asked Matt as Ollie nodded.
"Well then, I would love to see the sunrise as well, we can both see it after I beat you tomorrow." said Matt confidently as Ollie laughed.
"Oh I see, so that's how it is? Alright then it's settled we can have our rematch early tomorrow before the sun rises and the winner gets to enjoy the sunset in triumph." said Ollie as he laughed and Matt laughed.
"That's a deal." said Matt as he stood up and Ollie stood up as they shook on it.
"Alright then we better get to bed so we can wake up early." said Ollie as the swords moved back to their place on the racks.
"That you are right about." said Matt as he smiled and they walked back into the Castle.
...
"Annie have you spoken to Curtis lately?" asked Maddie while Annie had just come out of the bathroom with her hair damp as she brushed it gently.
"No... why do you ask?" asked Annie in suspicion as she turned to look at Maddie who was lazily lying on her bed.
"No reason, it's just that I haven't heard you talk to him in a while." said Maddie.
"Hmm well that's because I don't want to talk to him, I'm still very much upset with him, he's been very annoying as of late and I am just sick and tired of it." said Annie as she braided her hair into pigtails.
"Oh but you know how he can be, it shouldn't surprise you, I think that you should talk to him and forgive him." said Maddie.
"And why do you care about that all of a sudden? Last time I checked you and Curtis don't really get along, you are the last person I would expect to advocate for him." said Annie as she frowned.
"Well yes true, but I may have forgotten to mention and me and him talked this afternoon while you guys were out and it really worries him that you're upset with him, he wants to talk to you and apologize." said Matt as Annie turned to look at Maddie and glared at her.
"Oh come on Annie, hear him out, he has been trying to change himself and he certainly regrets not tagging along when he should have." said Maddie.
"You don't know that." replied Annie as she walked to her bed and sat down.
"Yes I do, trust me, I have never seen or heard Curtis that worried, forgive him." said Maddie as Annie sighed.
"I have already forgiven him, but I'm not speaking to him until tomorrow, so at least he will know how it feels to be ignored and avoided." said Annie with an annoyed pout as Maddie laughed.
"Who knew that you could be so harsh?" asked Maddie as she laughed.
"I'm not being harsh, he deserves it. I'm just giving him a taste of his own medicine. I will speak to him tomorrow when I am in the mood. But right now it's late and we should be sleeping now so goodnight." said Annie as she laid her head on the pillow.
"Goodnight Annie." said Maddie as she smiled.
...
Early the next day.
The sound of blades clashing reverberated in the quiet courtyard as two friends were entangled once again in a friendly match. The early morning was already filled with sounds of sword fighting combat.
"You are way more aggressive than you were yesterday, I guess that you must have been holding a grudge." chuckled Ollie as he laughed moving away from Matt.
"I wouldn't say it's a grudge, we just have a score to settle." replied Matt as the torches around them were lit since it was still dark outside.
"I see, well we've been at this for the past thirty minutes and I am wary of you, what are you planning?" asked Ollie as Matt chuckled and lunged at him as Ollie blocked his attack with his own blade.
"I don't think that you should be worried about anything." said Matt as he suddenly ducked down catching Ollie by surprise giving Matt the chance to use his leg to trip Ollie off his feet as Ollie fell down and instantly dropped his sword so he did not accidentally hurt himself.
"Alright, that was a good one, now I know what you meant by saying that it's a trick Maddie would use." said Ollie as Matt chuckled and offered him a hand up which he accepted.
"Yeah, but I have to admit it's fun playing dirty sometimes, but don't tell Maddie that." said Matt as Ollie laughed.
"I won't." said Ollie as he sat down and Matt sat down beside him as the sun began to rise at the same moment.
It was a beautiful spectacle of orange hues as the bright yellow sun rose from the horizon signaling the start of a new day.
"You were right about the sunrise it's breathtaking." said Matt as Ollie chuckled.
"I told you it was. So which do you prefer the sunrise or the sunset?" asked Ollie as Matt laughed.
"Well now that's a hard one to chose, both are spectacularly beautiful to watch, but I prefer the sunset." said Matt as he smiled.
"Why the sunset?" asked Ollie.
"I think it's exceptionally pretty, and whenever I watch the sunset it's kind of calming, I don't know why." said Matt as he smiled.
"I think I have a hunch why." replied Ollie.
"Really?" asked Matt as Ollie nodded.
"Then how about you share your hunch." said Matt.
"Well you're part vampire, and in the past it was impossible for vampires to go out in the day, it burnt their skin, so they used to wait till the sun went down before they could move around freely. It wasn't until we signed a peace treaty between our realms that we aided them with spells that could reverse the sun's effect on their skin and that's why they casually walk freely now." said Ollie.
"But ask any vampire if they prefer the sunset or sunrise, sunset will always be their answer." said Ollie as Matt laughed.
"That makes sense." said Matt as he smiled.
"That it does, but what doesn't is the fact that your last name is Sundew and yet your a vampire, or at least part vampire." said Ollie as he laughed and Matt laughed louder.
"Oh yeah, I've also been wondering about that lately but I have no idea. It's kind of ironic. I haven't had a chance to ask my dad about that yet, but I will once I can." said Matt as he and Ollie laughed.
"So, I've been thinking about what we were talking about last night..." said Ollie after a long while of silence causing Matt to turn his head to his direction.
"And..." said Ollie as he was really trying to put all his words in order since this was a very delicate situation and topic.
"Since you told me that you don't feel like you are important or have your own thing, I wondered if you had something you loved to do, like a hobby?" asked Ollie as he would be lying if he said that his conversation with Matt last night did not worry him. In fact it worried him a lot, and the problem was not resolved yet so he wanted to be able to help anyway he could.
"Well... I don't want to lie to you dude, I don't have any hobbies whatsoever." replied Matt simply as Ollie was surprised.
"Really? Is that true? You don't have any hobbies at all?" asked Ollie in surprise as Matt nodded.
"But that has to be incorrect, everyone has something that they like doing to relax them... are you sure?" asked Ollie as Matt nodded.
"There's really been no time to get into any hobbies while Azazel was still a problem." said Matt as Ollie nodded noting the truths in his words.
