"Now I understand why you were so different" said Nia in a tone that did not sound surprised at all.
"I am different?" asked Clove as Nia. nodded.
"You are nicer, and kinder than anyone else here" said Nia as that made Clove smile.
"So you are not angry for me for lying to you about who I truly am?" asked Clove.
"Not at all, you had to do what you had to do, how else would you be able to accomplish your mission?" asked Nia as Clove nodded.
"So you are not going to tell anyone?" asked Clove as Nia nodded.
"You have my word, I am not going to tell anyone, your secret is safe with me" said Nia as she smiled and Clove smiled.
"Oh thank you Nia, I was so worried that you would be upset and feel betrayed, and I don't want that because I consider you my friend" said Clove as Nia smiled, Clove had actually been dreading the day that Nia would find out the truth.
She thought that Nia would be angry, and feel hurt and think that she had only proposed that they be friends just because she needed information, but that was not the case at all.
"So what exactly is your mission?" asked Nia.
"Well I need to find out what exactly Azazel Is planning, so the High Council will be able to defeat him" said Clove as Nia nodded.
"What have you been able to find out?" asked Nia as Clove trusted her, and she was sure that Nia could help her.
"Well nothing much, except for Azazel plans to attack the Palace in a month" said Clove.
"That's the only thing, and it worries me because I know there is something deeper" said Clove as she sighed.
"You need more information right?" asked Nia as she honestly wanted all this to end already, it was a long time coming.
"Yes I do" said Clove as she nodded.
"I can get you more information" said Nia.
"You can?" asked Clove in surprise.
"Yes" said Nia.
"Oh, no, Nia, no, I don't want you risking yourself, I am already in a tight situation, and I do not want that to happen to you" said Clove.
"But I want to help you" said Nia.
"No one in this camp cannot lie and say that they don't know who the bad side is" said Nia.
"Who is the man that is busy oppressing everyone?" asked Nia.
"Deep down, everyone knows that Azazel is in the wrong, and yet they still follow him" said Nia.
"So I want to help, I want to do some good, so please let me help you" said Nia as Clove sighed.
"Alright Nia, fine, you can help me, but I just don't want you getting into danger just because of this" said Clove.
"You don't have to worry Sage, I will be fine, I have survived this long, and I surely will continue to survive" said Nia with a smile as Clove smiled.
"Alright, if you say so Nia, thank you" said Clove as she smiled.
"You are welcome, now, I know someone who definitely will know what Azazel is planning" said Nia as she seemed to be thinking.
"Who?" asked Clove as Nia looked at her.
"I have to go meet him first and ask for his help, then I will tell you" said Nia.
"Okay?" said Clove as she wondered what Nia was thinking about.
…
Nia sighed to herself as she walked through the dark and empty streets as she took a deep breath.
"It's alright Nia, you can do this, you can do this" said Nia to herself as she braced herself and she looked up at the dark star filled sky as she heard the sound of chuckling and talking.
"Alright Nia, here goes nothing" said Nia to herself as she turned into the corner where she saw many rogues that were the source of all the laughing and talking that she heard.
Nia ignored all the other rogues as she walked to the one she was looking for as the other rogues looked at her and she tapped Hunter on the back as he was busy talking to someone.
"Hunter, can we talk?" asked Nia as Hunter turned to look at her with a serious look on his face as he was wondering what she was doing here.
"What are you doing here?" asked Hunter in a tone that did not sound pleased at all as he looked at Nia.
"I came here to see you, and I need to talk to you, can we talk?" asked Nia as her heart was beating in her chest with all the rogues around as Hunter could hear her heartbeat, which made him sigh internally, wondering what she was doing here, while she was clearly scared.
"Please Hunter, please" said Nia as she pleaded with Hunter as he sighed and he took her hand and pulled her away to follow him as the other rogues were talking and laughing.
"Enough with the display, tell me what exactly you are doing here and why" said Hunter as soon as he and Nia were alone and he was sure that the others could not hear him.
"Hurry up" said Hunter in a serious tone that stated that he did not have time to waste.
"Hunter, I need your help" said Nia as Hunter scoffed.
"What could you possibly need my help for?" asked Hunter.
"I know that we aren't on good terms right now, but we were at least friends… before…" said Nia.
"Yeah, and you were the one that broke that friendship, so tell me what you want now" said Hunter.
"I need your help to take down Selene" said Nia as Hunter scoffed.
"Oh, now you want to do that, remember that's all I wanted to do and you refused" said Hunter in an angry tone.
"I know I did, and I don't regret my decision back then, but now, I feel like Selene has done the worst that she can ever do, it's high time that she pays for everything she has done" said Nia.
"And what brought you to this sudden realization?" asked Hunter.
"Hunter, are you going to help me or not?" asked Nia.
"I am not helping you, I am not going to get myself entangled in something like this, you are on your own" said Hunter as he walked away, he could not believe this, first he had been the one to ask her to get rid of Selene a long time ago, back then she refused, and now she wanted to do it? She was so unbelievable.
The reason that they had fought was because of that and her refusal, and now, here she was, asking for his help.
"Aren't you tired of all this, of living this life enslaved under Azazel?" asked Nia as Hunter stopped walking and he turned to look at her.
"You say it like there is a choice" said Hunter.
"There is a choice Hunter, we do have a choice" said Nia.
"So you can either help me make the right choice, or remain a disposable pawn in the hands of Azazel and Selene" said Nia.
"What are you up to Nia?" asked Hunter.
"I can't tell you if I don't have your full support, but if you join me, we can help the right people win and end this entire thing, because I am tired of all this suffering" said Nia as Hunter was quiet.
"Say something Hunter" said Nia.
"Who are you taking down, Azazel or Selene?" asked Hunter.
"Both, once and for all" said Nia.
"Are you in or not?" Nia as Hunter sighed.
…
"I miss you too" read the letter that Clove sent Maddie as Maddie sighed.
"What's wrong?" asked Annie as she looked at Maddie who was sitting on her bed.
"My mom says that she misses me too" said Maddie.
"Isn't that a good thing?" asked Annie.
"It is, but I just remembered the time when I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would actually have a relationship with my mother" said Maddie as Annie smiled.
"Most times we can't imagine what's going to happen in our lives" said Annie with a smile.
"I know, but it's so annoying, anyway, what's worrying me right now is that Azazel came here, and what if he comes back?" asked Maddie.
"And if he came here instead of the Palace, I doubt he's going to go on with his plan to attack in a month" said Maddie.
"Which means that we are inevitably brought back to not knowing anything at all" said Maddie with a deep, long sigh.
"Didn't you ask your mom what she knows?" asked Annie.
"No, she refuses to tell me anything about Azazel, I do not know why, and it still makes me so worried that she is so close to him" said Maddie.
"And that Selene woman as well, I just want all this to end already" said Maddie with a sigh.
"You and me both Maddie, you and me both" said Annie as she sighed as well.
