"Open your eyes" came Azazel's chilling commanding voice as Clove was sure that her life would end soon, she was sweating profusely, her heart was beating out of her chest, being too close to Azazel was chilling.
"W---what??" asked Clove in utter horror as she kept her eyes tightly shut, she was sure that Azazel would kill her right now, first he would start by plucking out her eyes.
"Are you deaf or what??" asked Azazel In angrily annoyed tone.
"I said open your eyes!" said Azazel in a cold tone as Clove felt like melting and sinking into the ground; she did not need to be told twice, she opened her eyes immediately.
As Clove's eyes met Azazel's she quickly looked away in fear.
"Look at me" commanded Azazel as warning bells in Clove's head rang as she did not move at all.
"Look at me, you do not want me repeating that again" said Azazel coldly as Clove looked at him as he pulled her closer to him and he held her chin with his hand while looking at her intently.
His force on her chin did not allow Clove to move at all, she was scared looking at him, she tried her best to avoid Azazel's eyes as she either looked to the far right or to the far left.
Azazel narrowed his eyes at Clove, there was just something so familiar about them, as if he had seen them before, watching him countless times, his head was banging trying to remember and he hated it so much.
Meanwhile, Clove was busy wondering why Azazel had not killed her yet, he was just busy looking at her, and that made her so scared and uncomfortable.
Azazel had had enough of trying to remember where he had seen the eyes of the scared woman in front of him, he decided not to think anymore.
In all truth, her eyes reminded him a lot of Maddie's eyes, but there was still something different, her eyes were lighter than Maddie's for sure.
"What is your name?" asked Azazel as he touched her blonde hair and felt it in his hand as that made Clove stiff up as she shivered in fear.
"W…whaa… what???" asked Clove as she managed to say something, she felt like she could not move at all, she was forced to look directly at Azazel.
"I asked you what your name is, do not make me repeat it again" said Azazel as her hair was damp which made his fingers wet from the reside of water as he wiped it on her shirt.
"My name….?" asked Clove as she could not even understand what was going on right now.
Why wasn't Azazel screaming at her, or attempting to kill her, instead, he had asked her to look at him, and now he had asked her for her name, she was left perplexed.
"Yes your name, or do you not have a name?" asked Azazel as he looked at Clove from head to toe, which left her feeling even more uncomfortable.
Clove was confused, she did not know what was going on with Azazel right now, maybe he was not the real Azazel, oh but he was, his aura was the same, Clove knew that the only way that she could get out of this would be to play along with all Azazel's wishes.
Clove for sure knew that there was no way she would tell Azazel her real name, neither her second name, because she knew that she looked different right now with her changing spell wearing off, she needed to think.
"My… my name is M…age" said Clove in a panic as that was the first name that came to mind.
"Mage, Mage…" said Azazel to himself, as if trying to recall if he had met her before.
"Are you a new recruit?" asked Azazel as Clove nodded.
"Y…yes I am" she said as Azazel became quiet when he heard one of the rogues call out to him.
"Azazel" called Luk as Azazel looked up to see him and he released Clove from his hold as he remembered why he had come out here in the first place before he was distracted by Clove.
"I am on my way" said Azazel as he walked in the direction and Azazel did not even need to tell her to leave as she took off as fast as she could and she ran away quickly as Azazel turned back to see her gone as he was sure that he would see her again.
Clove ran quickly as she got to her room and shut the door tightly as she sat down on her bed trying to calm her racing heart.
She had just escaped death, she was about to be compromised she had almost died tonight.
"You need to be more careful Clove… really" said Clove to herself as she sighed in relief and she looked at her reflection in the mirror.
She was so lucky, she was sure that Azazel did not recognize her because she did not look like Sage, but she looked like herself.
Clove was certain that with that fake name that she had given Azazel, he would never be able to find her again.
"Calm down Clove, it is alright, it is fine, he is not here anymore" said Clove as she tried to calm herself down.
Right now, she just felt like talking to Maddie, she needed to get all this fear out, but she also knew that there was no way she could tell Maddie what just happened with Azazel, she was certain that Maddie would freak out and insist that she come back immediately.
But Clove knew that was not possible, she still had a lot to do here, they needed someone on the inside to inform them on what Azazel was planning, and there was still so much that they did not know.
Clove sighed as she fell on her bed and rested her head on the pillow, she could not contact Maddie now, she would risk drawing attention to herself again and she did not want that.
Clove just sighed as she tried to think of a way out of this.
…
The next morning.
"What's wrong Sage, you seem tired" said Nia as she looked at Clove in worry, who in turn looked at her.
"Oh I am just tired" said Clove as she yawned.
"Why? Didn't you sleep well last night?" asked Nia as she and Clove were walking with trays in their hands.
"Not at all, I couldn't sleep at all" said Clove.
"Why not?" asked Nia.
"Well because something horrific happened to me last night" said Clove.
"What happened??" asked Nia in worry.
"Well I can't tell you the reason right now, but I will later" said Clove.
"Alright…" said Nia as she felt like Clove was really scared judging from her tone.
"I had a death scare with Azazel last night" said Clove as she whispered.
"What??? How?" asked Nia in nothing but concern.
"I can't tell you in detail right now, but after we are done with our duties I will" said Clove as Nia was every worried, but she just nodded as she opened the door and she and Clove walked into Selene's room as Azazel was there as well and they seemed to be arguing.
"You should not have went there at all Azazel, that girl is nothing, she is no one, she is the daughter of a useless woman, you do not need to waste your time with her" said Selene in anger as Nora and Clove bowed and placed the tray on the table.
"And when did I tell you that I needed your opinion?" asked Azazel in a deep cold tone as it silenced Selene immediately.
"My lord, you know that I only want the best for you, and that girl is horrible, she is a traitor, she betrayed you her own father" said Selene.
"My son… our son is the best heir" said Selene as she did not even care that Nia and Clove were here, hearing their entire conversation.
"There you go again" said Azazel with a scoff and he looked up to see a familiar pair of blue eyes looking around as he knew who she was.
"This conversation had ended Selene, I do not want to hear a single word about this again, are we clear?" asked Azazel as he looked at Selene.
"But…" said Selene as Azazel cut her off.
"Are we clear?" asked Azazel in a cold tone.
"Yes…" said Selene.
"Good" said Azazel.
"You" called Azazel as he looked at Clove who was trying her best not to be noticed.
"Me??" asked Clove in horror as she looked at Azazel.
"Yes you, now you work for me" said Azazel.
"What??" asked Clove and Selene, and Nia at the same time as they all looked at Azazel who did not seem to care for their reactions at all.
