"Why do you look so happy?" asked Annie with a smile as she walked into she and Maddie's room and she saw Maddie sitting on her bed with a smile.
"I am not happy, I am relieved" said Maddie with a smile as she looked at Annie.
"And why is that?" asked Annie with a smile.
"Well Clove… I mean my mom sent me a letter" said Maddie with a smile.
"She did?" asked Annie in surprise.
"Yes, she did, she apologized for not being able to contact me before, that was because for some reason there is a barrier that blocks any attempt of external communication in Azazel's camp" said Maddie.
"That is so weird" said Annie.
"I know it is, but she said that she is alright, and she asked of you and everyone else" said Maddie with a smile.
"I am just so relieved that she is alright, after all, I didn't know how she was, and that was killing me" said Maddie with a smile.
"You see Maddie, it was a good idea to go out of the Palace for a change, you had some fun, and now your mother sent you a letter" said Annie with a smile.
"Yeah, yeah, the children at the orphanage were cute, but the kittens were even cuter" said Maddie as Annie laughed.
"You and cats" said Annie as she laughed.
"They are just so cute I tell you" said Maddie as she laughed and Annie laughed.
"I just hope that she will finish her mission soon and come back" said Maddie with a sigh.
"She will Maddie, she will" said Annie with a smile.
…
"What is it?" asked Curtis as he walked into Stella's office where Captious and Sapiens were already there siting down on the couch.
"Clove sent me a report" said Stella as Curtis sat down on the couch.
"And?" asked Curtis.
"And she reported that there are many more witches joining Azazel than we had first thought, his camp is full of witches" said Stella.
"He promises them that things will get better when he takes over" said Stella.
"That is obviously a lie, how could people believe such a statement from a tyrant like him" said Sapiens in disbelief, he could not believe this at all, he never knew that people could be so gullible.
"Sapiens, people believe anything that gives them hope in a hopeless situation" said Captious as Sapiens shook his head.
"They are looking up to someone who would tell them what they want to hear, and let's not forget that to them Annie in the problem and not Azazel" said Captious.
"That is the absolute truth Capi" said Stella.
"Well Clove goes on to state that there is an abundance of rogues in his camp, they apparently have some sort of agreement" said Stella.
"And it would seem that Selene is the one who is in charge of everything, and also, Clove mentioned that there Is a barrier that is blocking all external communication coming in and out of the camp, it was difficult for her to try to break through it and sent the report" said Stella.
"So what did she do to get her report to you?" asked Sapiens.
"I am not sure, I believe It was a mailing spell though, the report has a hint of ground on it, it had to have gone underground" said Stella.
"You should tell her to cease from sending any letters" said Curtis as they all looked at him.
"If there is a barrier, then it means that someone would be alerted when something pushes through that barrier, and that could compromise her mission and get her into trouble" said Curtis.
"Either she stops sending letters and she does not send them all in a constant interval, or she finds another way to send the letters without passing through the barrier" said Curtis.
"You are right Curtis, I will tell her what you said" said Stella.
"We still are not aware of what Azazel is planning" said Sapiens.
"That is true, but I prefer Clove to stay at an arm's length away from Azazel, she should just continue to gather as much information as she can while not drawing attention to herself" said Stella as Captious agreed.
"Curtis, what do you think?" asked Stella as she looked at Curtis.
"What is bound to happen, will happen" said Curtis plainly as Stella just looked at him with a questionable gaze.
…
"Hi Nia" said Clove with a smile as she waved at Nia who was sweeping a part of the kitchen.
"Hi Sage" said Nia with a smile as she looked at Clove.
"How are you?" asked Clove with a smile.
"I am good, and how are you?" asked Nia with a smile.
"I am good as well" replied Clove.
"Nia, when someone wants to send a message outside to their family, how would you do that?" asked Clove as she had received Stella's message last night, and she did not want to take any chance of getting caught as a spy, so she had to find another way to send her reports and letters to Maddie.
"Ahh I don't know about that, no one is allowed to communicate with the outside world, it is for security reasons" said Nia.
"Ahh I see" said Clove as she knew that she had to find another way.
"Nia, Selene is calling for you, she wants you to bring her breakfast to her room" said the woman who was in charge of the kitchen as Nia looked at her and sighed.
"Alright" said Nia.
"And you too, go with her" said the woman as she pointed to Clove.
"Me?" asked Clove in surprise.
"Yes you, help Nia" said the woman.
"Ahh but I haven't cleared the dishes yet" said Clove.
"Leave that alone, someone else will do that, just do as you are told and assist Nia" said the woman.
"Okay…" said Clove as she knew that she could not argue.
"Go on then, do not keep Selene waiting" said the woman as Nia and Sage nodded.
…
"Sage, there are a few things that you need to know before you meet Selene" said Nia as she was carrying trays and Clove was doing the same thing as they walked through the camp.
"Okay" said Clove.
"Don't talk to anyone unless spoken to, don't frown or smile, don't breath too loud, and also do your best to make sure Selene does not notice you" said Nia.
"That sounds like a lot" said Clove.
"I know, but if you want to stay safe, you have to do all those things" said Nia.
"Alright Nia, thank you" said Clove with a smile.
"You are welcome" said Nia with a smile as she opened a door and walked in as Clove followed after her quietly.
Clove felt something weird in this place, she felt like there was something or someone dangerous.
Nia walked down the hall as she stopped in front of a door where Clove was hearing what seemed like arguing coming from inside the room and it suddenly stopped when in the next moment a rogue opened the door and walked out angrily as Nia held the door and she walked in as Clove followed behind her.
"Your breakfast my lady" said Nia as she bowed in front of Selene and Clove did the same.
"Good morning my Lord" said Nia as she bowed as Azazel looked at her and then he looked away, he did not even bother to respond to her greeting.
"Just put it over there" said Selene as Nia nodded and placed the tray on the table and Clove did the same as Nia stood up straight and waited for her next orders as Clove did everything that Nia did and she stayed extremely quiet.
So this was the Azazel that everyone was scared of, now Clove knew why everyone was terrified of him, he was a terrifying man, Clove stopped herself from shivering, because the cold menacing aura emanating from him.
Azazel just stayed seated as he seemed to have been thinking of something.
"Give me my breakfast" said Selene as Nia nodded and brought Selene's breakfast to her as she kneeled and Selene smiled, it felt good to torture this silly brat, next time she would know better than to be loyal to the wrong woman.
"Who is that?" asked Selene as she pointed to Sage who held her breath.
"She is a new recruit my lady" replied Nia.
"Ahh I see, no wonder her face is not familiar" said Selene.
"What is your name?" asked Selene.
"Her name is…" said Nia as she was cut off violently by Selene.
"Shut up and be quiet, does she not have her own mouth to tell me what her name is?" asked Selene in anger.
"I apologize my lady" said Nia.
"What Is your name?" asked Selene as she looked at Clove.
"Sage my lady" replied Clove.
"Sage… hmm" said Selene.
"Yes my lady" replied Clove as Selene looked at her as if looking for something, there was just something familiar about those pair of blue eyes, but Selene was sure that she was mistaken.
Azazel looked up and his eyes met Clove's as she quickly looked down, even when he looked at someone there was just this feeling of superiority that made anyone scared.
"Well Sage, I like your face, from now on you will assist Nia" said Selene.
"Thank you my lady?" said Clove as she did not know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
"Azazel, you called for me" said Hunter as he walked into the office as he and Nia looked at each other and he looked away from her and focused on Azazel.
"Yes, the two of you get out" said Azazel.
"Yes my lord" said Nia as she bowed and she walked out of the room as Clove followed after her quickly without looking back.
