Chereads / Annie Grey / Chapter 563 - New here

Chapter 563 - New here

"Alright Clove, you can do this just act calm, no one knows who you are, they won't suspect anything" said Clove to herself as she took a deep breath and she nodded her head, she doubted that anyone would suspect anything about her, she would make sure of that.

But she just had to find Azazel, find out what he was planning and report back to Stella, but before that she had to find out how things worked here.

"Oh sorry" said Clove as a woman hit her as she walked past her and she did not even stop to apologize.

"Just what is going on here, this place is as crowded as a market place" said Clove to herself as she knew that she had to move out of here faster.

She could not believe that Azazel's camp was this crowded, she wondered what Azazel was telling all these witchfolk that made them come over to his side when clearly he was the evil on here.

Clove finally got away from all the crowded people as she took a deep breath and sighed, it looked like this was not going to be an easy task.

Clove was looking around when she did not notice that a girl was walking in her direction and accidentally bumped into Clove with several plates and pans that she had been carrying.

"*Gasp*, Oh I am so sorry, so very sorry, I did not see you there" said Nia as she gasped and she bowed as she quickly bent down and started to pack all the pans and plates.

"That's okay, it was an accident" said Clove with a smile as she bent down and she helped Nia pick up all the plates and pans and she handed it to her.

"Thank you, I am so sorry I should have been more careful" replied Nia with a sigh as she took the plates from Clove and Clove smiled at her.

"It's fine" said Clove with a smile as she stood up and Nia stood up as well.

"You are new here?" asked Nia in uncertainty.

"Umm yes I am… what gave it away?" asked Clove as she laughed sheepishly.

"Well you are nice, no one here Is nice to anyone" replied Nia with a sigh.

"Oh…" said Clove.

"But thank you" said Nia with a smile.

"You are welcome, if you don't mind, since I'm new, I don't know where exactly to go…" said Clove as she smiled sheepishly.

"Oh well you just walk straight down here and the last tent on the right is where you will get your duties assigned to you" said Nia.

"Oh, thank you" said Clove with a smile.

"You are welcome" said Nia with a smile.

"Good luck, you will need it" said Nia as she walked away and Clove was wondering what she meant by that.

"I do really need luck though" said Clove to herself as she realized that Nia had known she was new here since she was nice, her attitude was making her stick out, she had to find a way to change that.

Clove shrugged off all her thoughts as she walked down the path that Nora had told her and she saw the tent that Nora was talking about as she sighed and she walked into the tent, here went nothing.

"Maddie, are you okay?" asked Annie as she walked into the library.

"I'm fine Annie, I'm just reading a book" replied Maddie.

"Maddie, the book you claim you are reading is upside down" replied Annie as Maddie sighed and she closed the book.

"Alright fine, you got me, I am worried about my mom, what if Azazel recognizes her?" asked Maddie.

"That's highly unlikely Maddie, she looks totally different, and neither she or Azazel remember each other, so I doubt that will happen" said Annie as she sat down beside Maddie.

"You are right, what am I even thinking, that man is totally rotten now, not like he wasn't already before, I doubt he would recognize her" said Maddie.

"And besides, he has his perfect son and that demon woman Selene" said Maddie with a scoff.

"Maddie, don't be depressed, you promised your mom that you wouldn't be, and that you would be happy" said Annie as she smiled.

"Yeah, yeah I know, I'm just worried, anyway, what's going on?" asked Maddie as she smiled.

"Well Matt and Ollie are hanging out" replied Annie with a smile

"*Ugh*, I don't know why that blondie has to be here, it makes no sense at all" said Maddie with a groan as Annie laughed.

"You still don't like him do you?" asked Annie as she laughed.

"Never have and never will" replied Maddie with a smile.

"Of course" replied Annie as she shook her head.

"Alright" said Clove to herself as she walked out of the tent, she had just gotten her assigned duty and now she had to walk to where she would be staying.

Clove had to say that she had done a lot of walking today, she was tired to say the least, she just hoped that she could get settled in today and start her mission.

Clove wondered how Maddie was doing, she really hoped that Maddie was alright, she did tell her not to be sad.

"Sorry dude, my Grandfather Is calling me" said Matt as he smiled.

"That's fine, see you later?" asked Ollie with a smile.

"See you later" replied Matt with a smile as he walked out of the lounge and Ollie smiled as Curtis walked into the room.

"Oh hi Curtis" said Ollie as he smiled.

"Have you seen Annie?" asked Curtis.

"Well she went after Maddie since she's depressed her mom is gone" said Ollie.

"Hmm" said Curtis.

"Do you know where they went?" asked Curtis.

"Probably in the library, Maddie likes going there" replied Ollie.

"Alright then" said Curtis as he turned around to walk away as Ollie stopped him.

"Curtis, can I ask you something?" asked Ollie as Curtis turned to look at him.

"Depends on what you want to ask me" said Curtis.

"I know that you and the chancellor are close, and she rarely does anything without asking for your permission first, and especially when it comes to matters that concern Azazel" said Ollie.

"And what does that have to do with anything?" asked Curtis.

"Tell me the truth Curtis, you were the one who suggested that the Chancellor send Clove instead of anyone else" said Ollie as Curtis just kept quiet.

"The only thing that I don't get is why" said Ollie as he seemed to be thinking, Curtis did not refute his words, which meant that he was correct, but then again, with Curtis, it was hard to tell, he rarely reacted.

"Why would you want Clove to go to Azazel's camp, if you don't want something to happen, or does that mean that something will happen?" asked Ollie as Curtis really underestimated him.

"You know something Curtis, and you are hiding it from all of us" said Ollie as he looked at Curtis.

"I hide nothing, and If I don't tell you anything it is for your own good" replied Curtis as he finally spoke.

"That's what you think, but if you don't tell us why you do it, it means that you know that we won't agree" said Ollie.

"There's a reason why I am older than you, and a reason why I keep things that you don't need to know to myself" said Curtis.

"I don't think Annie would be happy to know that you are hiding things from her again, you remember what happened the last time" said Ollie.

"You are smart Ollie, and I know that you won't tell Annie anything she doesn't need to know, besides, you want to know what's going on" replied Curtis.

"I might just tell her" said Ollie with a smile.

"Go ahead, be my guest" replied Curtis.

"Oh come on Curtis, just tell me what is going on, it makes no sense" said Ollie.

"When it's time for it all to make sense it will make sense" said Curtis.

"Curtis, do you know how annoying it is when you talk in circles like that? I can't read out anything from your words" said Ollie.

"You aren't supposed to, you are the prince of the witch realm after all, I believe that you are intelligent enough to figure out what exactly is going on without me telling you" said Curtis.

"Is that a challenge Curtis?" asked Ollie.

"No" replied Curtis without thought as Ollie laughed.

"Alright fine then, I take it as a challenge Curtis" replied Ollie as Curtis walked away and ignored Ollie as if he had not just been talking to him a moment ago.

Ollie just shook his head and sighed, Curtis could be so annoying sometimes, but now he was sure that something was definitely going on here, he just had to find out what exactly it was.
