Chereads / Annie Grey / Chapter 541 - Don't you dare

Chapter 541 - Don't you dare

"What do you mean she's still alive?" asked Maddie in a mix of disbelief and a bit of testing, she wondered if this was a prank, but with the way Stella was looking so serious, she doubted that this was a prank.

But this made no sense at all, first she told her that Selene had gone back in time to kill Clove, which resulted in a son, and whatever, but now Stella comes with news that completely turned her head upside down, and that was that Clove was alive, was this all some sort of joke or what.

"Didn't you tell us that Selene went back in time to kill her before she ever met Azazel?" asked Maddie.

"Well yes that is what happened" said Stella as she nodded.

"Then how come she is alive now?" asked Maddie.

"Well it turns out that we were wrong dear, she's not dead" said Stella as this made no sense to Maddie.

"On first glance, it looked as if Selene succeeded and she died, but that is far from the truth" said Stella as Maddie had a look on her face that spelled confusion.

"With the extensive report I just got from the time keepers, your mother is not dead, she managed to escape when Selene tried to kill her, I doubt that Selene knows that, or else she would have tried again" said Stella.

"Oh this makes no sense, I feel like whoever is doing this is just playing, shouldn't she remain dead, I mean she died already?? This is just all nonsense; it makes no sense at all!!" said Maddie in frustration, this made no sense to her, so it turns out that Clove was alive, that was such not great news.

"Maddie dear, are you okay?" asked Stella.

"Well no, I'm not okay, the dead should remain dead quite frankly" said Maddie.

"Maddie" called Annie as Maddie looked at her.

"Don't you dare start Annie, you know it's the truth, so now we live in a world where Clove died, and yet she's still alive, how does that make sense??" asked Maddie as Annie did not know what to say, she could tell that she was surprised to say the least.

"Maddie, please calm down, just calm down" said Matt as Maddie looked at him.

"Fine, fine, I am calm" said Maddie with a scoff.

"Alright, let me guess, she wants to get back with Azazel now that she's alive?" asked Maddie as she looked at Stella, she was sure that if Clove tried that, Selene would finish her off this time.

"Well no Maddie, your mother still never met Azazel, she's been living a quiet life" said Stella.

"Mhmm right, I don't believe that, wickedness doesn't end" said Maddie with a scoff, she knew better than to believe that nonsense, Clove was always reliant on Azazel, always had, always will be, whatever he said was what went on, Clove had no say, and Maddie was not ready to go through this nonsense again.

"Maddie, you should believe it" said Curtis as Maddie looked at him.

"Yeah, alright, and why?" asked Maddie.

"Why hmmm?" asked Maddie.

"Because your mother is now a valued member of the Cauldron, she is one of the best agents of the Cauldron division in the Agricola realm" said Stella as she explained and Maddie laughed.

"Are you sure that she's not just undercover for Azazel?" asked Maddie as she laughed and Stella did not know what else to say, she could see that Maddie did not want to believe this, and she could not blame her at all.

"Maddie, you have to understand that Clove never met Azazel this time, she doesn't know about him, in fact, she doesn't even know that you exist, to her, you don't exist, and neither does Azazel, she doesn't remember anything that happened in the past timeline" said Curtis as Maddie looked at him.

"I don't think that It would be fair for you to judge her based on the actions of what happened the last time, based on the actions that she did not commit this time" said Curtis.

"Alright you know what, I'm done with this, I am not going to receive a lecture from you Curtis, and I certainly am not going to do what you all want me to do" said Maddie as she stood up and she walked away.

"Maddie, Maddie" called Annie, Matt and Stella as Maddie ignored them and she walked out of Stella's office.

"Let her go, she needs to be alone, you know that this is hard for her" said Curtis as they all turned to look at him.

"How long should we leave her alone for?" asked Matt.

"Knowing Maddie, a long time, let her cool off and try to wrap her head around everything that is going on right now" said Curtis as Annie sighed and she nodded.

"I understand Maddie, I mean, this is all just so crazy and hard to believe" said Annie.

"I know dear, I know" said Stella as she sighed and the door of her office opened again.

"Surprise everyone, I'm back, Greetings Chancellor" said Ollie with a bright smile as he walked into Stella's office.

"Oh prince Oliver, what a surprise, I did not know that you were coming" said Stella with a smile as Ollie smiled.

"Neither did I" said Ollie with a smile.

"Hi guys" said Ollie as he smiled and Annie smiled sadly at him.

"What's going on here, everyone looks… sad" said Ollie as he looked at Matt.

"Should we tell him?" asked Matt as he looked at Curtis and Stella.

"Well I don't see why not" said Curtis.

"Umm okay, tell me what?" asked Ollie as he could tell that this was serious.

"Sit down first Prince Oliver, and we will explain" said Stella as Ollie nodded and he sat down.

"How is this fair? Please tell me how it's fair, this makes no sense??!!" asked Maddie to herself as she groaned, it was so unfair, and nothing made sense right now.

Maddie didn't want to see either Annie, Matt, Curtis or Stella right now, because they could not understand how she felt, which was why she came outside into the garden, she really didn't want to be inside, she needed to think.

Maddie sighed as she sat down on the grass as she scolded herself internally, she should have taken her sweater with her before going out here, it was cold and the sky was dark.

Maddie sighed as she closed her eyes when she heard footsteps behind her.

"Looks like someone wasn't present for my return" said Ollie as he laughed and Maddie opened her eyes as she scoffed internally.

"Of course you are here as well, bad timing blondie, bad timing" said Maddie as she sighed.

"Every time is bad timing with you Maddie" said Ollie as she scoffed.

"Can I sit here with you?" asked Ollie.

"You already know my answer blondie" said Maddie.

"That I do" said Ollie as he smiled and he sat down beside her as Maddie turned to look at him and she shook her head, she didn't have the energy to shout at him.

"Are you going to talk about it?" asked Ollie as he looked at Maddie and she looked ahead.

"Of course, they told you about it already, let me guess, you are here to convince me like they all want to" said Maddie as she scoffed.

"You know Maddie, you don't have to be that cold, she's your mother after all" said Ollie.

"Well you don't understand blondie, no one does, so shut up before I transfer my aggression on you" said Maddie.

"You already do that quite a lot, so I'm used to it" said Ollie.

"I'm not leaving until you talk and say what is on your mind" said Ollie.

"Do you have a death wish or what, I will pound your face, and I have the excuse that you provoked me" said Maddie.

"Let's be honest Maddie, if you wanted to kill me, you would have done so already, besides, you have threatened me many times" said Ollie as he laughed and without warning Maddie attempted to punch his face, but before she could land a blow Ollie caught her fist.

"You should have tried better" said Ollie as Maddie scoffed and she pulled her hand away from his.

"You do have a death wish" said Maddie.

"Are you going to tell me what's wrong now?" asked Ollie.

"I would rather speak to Matt or Curtis rather than you" said Maddie.

"Well you are out of luck, I was sent as the spokesman" said Ollie as he laughed and Maddie scoffed at him as there was silence between them for a while.

"It's unfair" said Maddie as Ollie kept quiet.

"Unfair, that what I want I never get, dead people should stay dead, it's as easy as that" said Maddie.

"So you really don't care about your mother?" asked Ollie carefully.

"She is not my mother" said Maddie as she replied.
