Annie sighed as she sat down in front of the mirror on the dressing table in, she and Maddie's room as she was alone and she brushed her hair.
Annie could not help but think about everything, and about how this was all mostly her fault, if only she had defeated Azazel when she had the chance, so now he wouldn't be able to come back and be stronger than before.
She felt like it was her fault that they all had to deal with him as well. But this time, she wouldn't allow him to escape, not at all, she would have to kill him if that was the last thing she would do.
Now that she got her powers back, she wouldn't lose them again, and this time, she would protect her family, Curtis, and everyone else that meant a lot of her.
Annie sighed as she remembered what Maddie said about her thinking too much, so she decided to stop thinking about this, it was only making her sad.
Annie looked at her reflection in the mirror as she realized that she had not been brushing her hair, neither had she been holding the hairbrush, but the brush was moving on its own accord as it brushed her hair on it's own.
"Did I cast that spell?" asked Annie to herself in confusion, she did not remember casting a spell on her hairbrush at all.
It was weird, and confusing, did she unconsciously cast a spell or what? She didn't even know herself, all this just felt so weird to her.
"I did cast a spell?? Or didn't I?" asked Annie as she was not sure, she was confused, she did not think that her magic would work on anything if she didn't cast a spell on it first, and hence why she was very confused about this, she was not sure if she was now unconsciously casting spells without knowing it.
Annie's mind went back to what happened with Armand in the afternoon, she also did not remember casting any spells on him, or having any awareness about that, and yet she did cast a spell.
"Did I cast a spell on you?" asked Annie as she looked at her hairbrush and she took it from the air as it went back to being lifeless as she was left feeling even more confused.
"I didn't did I? or did I not?" asked Annie as she felt her hair being pulled and she looked at her reflection in the mirror as she saw her hair being braided on its own.
"I did think about it" said Annie as she was sure that she knew what was going on right now, her magic wasn't acting out of its own accord, she was consciously and unconsciously thinking about what she wanted to do.
For example, right now, she had thought about braiding her hair, and it started to braid itself, and before this, she unconsciously was thinking about brushing her hair and the hairbrush started to brush her hair for her.
"You can hear me can't you?" asked Annie to herself as she was sure that her magic was alive, that was the only reasonable explanation that she could think of right now.
"Well if you aren't going to say anything fine" said Annie as she looked down and she missed the purple glint in her eye.
Annie's hair was finished braiding so she yawned and she got into bed, she was just so tired today, and she did not know why.
…
"What's wrong Maddie? You seem more quiet than usual" said Matt as he looked at Maddie who closed the book that she was reading.
"It's Annie, I am worried about her" said Maddie as she looked at Matt.
Maddie had been worried about Annie for the past few days, she could sense that something strange was going on with her, but the question was that she did not know what exactly it was.
"How so?" asked Matt in confusion.
"Well I don't know if you have noticed, but for like the past few days, she's been different" said Maddie.
"Different how?" asked Matt.
"She seems sadder, she's always in her head, and she's easily irritated, and I don't know, I just feel something dark, if you know what I mean, and she has this angry look in her eye, I can see it" said Maddie.
"Well did you try talking to her?" asked Matt.
"I have, and I know that she's tired of hearing my voice at this point, but I am just worried about her, I feel like she's giving Azazel too much space in her mind, she shouldn't think about that guy at all" said Maddie as she could feel Annie wasn't okay.
"What if you are only seeing things that aren't there?" asked Matt.
"Trust me Matt, I am not seeing things that aren't there, Annie is different, I can feel it and I can see it, maybe because we stay in the same room, but I can notice those little changes, and it's making me worried, she won't talk to me anymore" said Maddie.
"Did you tell Curtis this?" asked Matt.
"I haven't seen the guy in such a long while, I would have gone straight to him so he could find out what's wrong with Annie" said Maddie.
"Alright then, where is Annie?" asked Matt.
"I'm not sure, I think she's practicing her archery at the archery range in the garden" said Maddie.
"Well okay then, I am going to go talk to her" said Matt as he stood up.
"Are you going to do that because of me or?" asked Maddie.
"No, no I am worried about her as well, see you later" said Matt as he smiled and Maddie smiled.
…
Annie took a deep breath as she pulled back her bow and she let go as the arrow went straight for the bullseye as she took a look at all of the other targets that she had hit.
She wished that all those targets could be Azazel and his stupid face, she wanted to get rid of him, kill him with her own hands, it would only be fair.
"Stupid Azazel, stupid everything" said Annie as she groaned and she put down her bow as she waved her hands and all her arrows came to her as she took them from the air.
"Maybe I should make poisoned arrows" said Annie as she thought to herself, that would be way more deadly than just normal arrows.
"I can get some potions from uncle Capi's lab" said Annie to herself as she played with an arrow in her hand when she heard her name being called and she looked up.
"Annie" called Matt as Annie looked at him.
"Hi Matt" said Annie as she looked at him.
"Hi, I can see that you are practicing your archery" said Matt as he smiled.
"Yes, I am thinking of making poisoned arrows" said Annie.
"Why?" asked Matt.
"You know, more damage" said Annie as her eyes faltered from green to purple and then back to green again as she looked at the arrows.
"Right" said Matt.
"So what's up?" asked Annie as she put her arrows back into her quiver.
"Annie do you feel okay?" asked Matt as now that he was looking at Annie, he could see what Maddie was talking about, she did look a little bit… dark, or maybe it was because she was frowning.
"I am fine, why do you ask?" asked Annie.
"Maddie and I were… never mind" said Matt as he did not think what he was about to say would be relevant.
"Are you thinking about Azazel?" asked Matt.
"Well yes, I am, thinking about how it's my fault that he's still alive" said Annie.
"But you know you shouldn't blame yourself Annie" said Matt.
"I know, and I won't ever let him get away again, this time I will make sure to get rid of him forever" said Annie in a dark tone as Matt now knew why Maddie was so worried about her.
"Annie are you sure that you are okay?" asked Matt.
"I am perfectly fine, I don't get why you and Maddie keep on asking me about
"Annie, I think that you need to…" said Matt as he took a pause.
"Matt, I don't know what you are talking about, I am going to the lab, see you later" said Annie as she smiled and she turned around and she walked away as Matt just stood there thinking.
Was it only him or did Annie seem colder than usual, very cold, he was confused, something was definitely going on here, he was worried, now he knew what Maddie was talking about, Annie did seem to be behaving very strangely.
"Maddie is right… Annie is behaving really strangely" said Matt to himself as he looked at Annie who was walking away from him.
