The next morning.
"So you talked to your Grandfather and he explained to you why he chose Evie to be Queen and not you?" asked Ollie as he and Matt were outside as some guards passed by them.
"Well yes, he explained to me that he knows I wouldn't like to be a ruler, and let's face it, I seriously don't, staying in one place isn't for me" said Matt as he laughed.
"Well I am glad that you got things cleared up with your Grandfather and that you understand him" said Ollie.
"You really have a nice Grandfather who cares for your opinion, my father wouldn't even bat an eye, whatever he says goes, no questions asked" said Ollie as he laughed and Matt laughed as he waved at one guard who waved at him.
"Well I don't know about that, but my dad used to say that back when he was my age, but older, Grandfather used to be very strict, I think that he only just recently softened up" said Matt as he laughed.
"Then I wish that my dad would soften up" said Ollie as Matt laughed.
"So you don't want to be King when the time comes?" asked Matt.
"Oh no I do, I want to be a great King and make my father proud, I know it is my birth right to be King, and I want to serve my realm and be a great leader" said Ollie as he smiled.
"But" said Matt as he could sense a but coming.
"But I just want him to know that it's every High Council meeting that I have to attend, or every official gathering that I have to go to and represent either him or my mother" said Ollie.
"I just want to stay in the Castle sometimes, without having to study, or go out and meet people pf my own age, and I want him to give me permission to go out on my own without me having to lie to him or make up an cover up or an excuse to go out of the Castle" said Ollie.
"And I want to be able to at least go out and meet other people, because the only other place he lets me go to is the Palace" said Ollie.
"If he could hear me out and consider my ideas, then I would feel much better, I know that he's raising me to be a great King, but I'm not there yet, I should be able to spend my youth being a youth, and not just working and focusing on being King at all times" said Ollie.
"I agree with you" said Matt.
"So you don't have any friends?" asked Matt.
"Well not really no, except you count all the members of the High Council that are old enough to be my Grandparents" said Ollie as he laughed and Matt laughed.
"So no, I didn't use to have friends my age, which was why I was so happy when I found out that there were people my age living in the Palace, it was nice to have people my age around for once" said Ollie as he smiled.
"And you guys are awesome, including Maddie, you are all such good friends, and I like that" said Ollie as he smiled.
"You do know that you are already part of the group right Dude?" asked Matt as he laughed.
"I know, and Maddie stills hates me, but overall, I am happy to have good friends like you guys, who don't care about my title, but about who I am, because sometimes, people's attitudes towards me changes when they know who I am, so much unnecessary respect, which I don't think is most times genuine, but you guys don't care about my title, you treat me as an equal, and I like that" said Ollie as he smiled.
"Well you are not as bad as Maddie paints you to be" said Matt as he laughed.
"Well I don't know what exactly she has against me, but I'm used to it by now" said Ollie as he laughed.
"Which reminds me, why where you and Evie acting weirdly yesterday?" asked Matt.
"Ahh that, well nothing really, just a friendly chat between the future generation of rulers of our realms" said Ollie as he smiled.
"I was really thinking about how we need to be good friends, since our realms are allies" said Ollie as he smiled.
"I see" said Matt as he still didn't believe him.
"Which reminds me, I am worried about Annie" said Ollie.
"How come?" asked Matt as he looked at Ollie.
"Well I don't know if she's alright, but yesterday she casted a lightweight spell and Evie's dress and it went wrong, Evie started to bounce around everywhere" said Ollie.
"She did?" asked Matt as Ollie nodded.
"I think that something's wrong with her powers" said Ollie.
"Well then why didn't you ask her about it?" asked Matt.
"Well she didn't seem like she was In a mood to talk yesterday, and I know that Maddie probably knows what's going on, but she know how she is, she won't tell me anything" said Ollie.
"So you want me to ask them both what's wrong?" asked Matt.
"Well yes, they will talk to you and not me, and also, aren't you worried about Annie?" asked Ollie.
"I do worry about her, but at the moment I'm not worried, because she didn't say anything to me, if she wanted to talk about it, she would have told us, I think that we should just wait for the girls to tell us what's wrong, and not us forcing out information? Said Matt.
"I guess that you are right" said Ollie.
"Prince Matthew, do you know where the commander is?" asked a guard as Matt stopped to look at him.
"I think he's at the stables" said Matt.
"Alright thank you" said the guard as he walked away and Matt smiled.
"Wait, isn't the commander your uncle Jake?" asked Ollie.
"Yes he is" said Matt as he nodded.
"I want to know the family tree, because you just have such a big family that it's hard to know who is who" said Ollie as he laughed and Matt laughed.
"Well Uncle Jake is my dad's best friend, they are as close as brothers, and my mom's best friend who she grew up with is my Aunt Bella, Aunt Bella and Uncle Jake got married, and hence why me and my siblings are their nephews and nieces" said Matt.
"Okay" said Matt as it was starting to make sense now.
"Now I get it, it's so cool to have a big family" said Ollie as Matt laughed.
"Sometimes yes" said Matt as he laughed.
"Hey Matt, I need your help with something" came Jacob's voice as Matt turned around to look at him.
"Oh uncle Jake, one of the guards just asked for you" said Matt.
"I know, I met him on my way here, I need your help, do you have a spell that can get rid of these thorns?" asked Jacob as he showed Matt his hands as they were covered in bruises and thorns.
"Gosh, what happened?" asked Matt in surprise.
"That looks terribly painful" said Ollie.
"Well your father and I were sparring, and you know how rough he gets, he kicked me and I landed straight in a bush of thorny roses" said Jacob.
"I would ask Bella to reverse this, but she's busy with Evie" said Jacob.
"I don't even know which spell to use here, a reversal or a healing?" asked Matt.
"Oh I know, it's easy just use a mix of both, a reversal to remove the thorns, and a healing to tone down the pain, just like that" said Ollie as Jacob's hands healed right in front of their eyes.
"Thank you Prince Oliver" said Jacob as he smiled.
"You are welcome, and you can just call me Ollie" said Ollie as he smiled.
"You have to teach me that spell" said Matt as he laughed.
"Sure, no problem" said Ollie as he smiled.
"Commander Jacob, you are the commander of the Vampire army right?" asked Ollie.
"That I am, and you can just call me Jake" said Jacob with a smile.
"Right Commander Jake, so isn't there a place where the vampires train? Or don't you guys learn combat with swords?" asked Ollie.
"Well we do, and we do have a training ground for combat, although no one uses it these days, we have no reason to" said Jacob.
"I see" said Ollie.
"Well why do you ask Ollie?" asked Jacob.
"Well no reason" said Ollie as he smiled.
"You are good at sword fighting aren't you?" asked Jacob.
"I won't brag, but I do know my way around a sword" said Ollie as he smiled.
"In that case, you can use the training grounds whenever you want" said Jacob as he smiled.
"I can?" asked Ollie in surprise.
"Yes, you are our guest, and you are also Matt's friend, so I don't see why not" said Jacob as he smiled.
"Thank you Commander Jake" said Ollie as he smiled.
"Just Jake, and you are welcome" said Jacob as he smiled.
"Well I have to run now, see you two later" said Jacob as he smiled and he walked away.
"You want to go to the training grounds now?" asked Ollie as he looked at Matt.
"Well no, I don't think right now, I have to help my mom with some things, you can go if you want" said Matt as he smiled.
"No that would be boring going alone, it's fine, we can just go there together tomorrow morning" said Ollie as he smiled.
"Sure that sounds good" said Matt as he smiled and he and Ollie continued walking back to the Castle.
