Chereads / Annie Grey / Chapter 433 - So selfish

Chapter 433 - So selfish

Annie cried, she had just been crying all this time, she did not know what else to do than to cry.

Annie continued crying as she heard the door of the room open as she looked up to see Maddie standing there.

"Oh Annie" said Maddie as she hated seeing Annie like this, so she rushed to hug her as Annie did not push her away at all.

"Oh Maddie, It's all my fault, all my fault" said Annie as she cried as she hugged Maddie, she just needed someone right now.

"What's your fault Annie?" asked Maddie as she could not understand what Annie was talking about.

"Curtis being like this, it's all my fault" said Annie as she cried.

"No Annie, don't say that, that is not true at all" said Maddie as she shook her head as Matt, Ollie and Alina were all standing outside the room watching, they did not want to interfere, Annie looked very bad right now.

"No, but it is my fault, it's all my fault that he's in so much pain and yet he hides it" said Annie as she cried.

"I am so selfish, so, so selfish, I could not defeat Azazel, I lost my powers, and now everything is horrible, we are uncertain on what happens next, and I just can't take it anymore, I am to blame for everything" said Annie as she cried and it hurt Maddie to hear Annie blame herself like this.

"No Annie, don't say that, you are not to blame at all" said Maddie as she shook her head and Matt felt bad that he could do nothing here.

"But I am, I am" said Annie as she cried.

"No you are not Annie, stop saying that, just stop, because I don't like it, you don't blame yourself for anything because it's not your fault, it is never your fault, it has never been your fault" said Maddie.

"Things happen for a reason, and sometimes, you can't change them" said Maddie as Annie just cried.

"Believe me Annie, blaming yourself won't do anything good" said Maddie.

"But everyone was counting on me, Curtis was counting on me to defeat Azazel" said Annie as she cried.

"Stop that Annie, stop, those who did expected too much from you, if Azazel cannot be defeated by people older than him, people the same age as him, how do they all expect you to defeat him in just one go?" asked Maddie.

"But it's the truth Maddie" said Annie.

"Stop saying that Annie, it's not your fault, Azazel is a jerk, he is a terrible man, a tyrant, how can people expect you to just face him just like that and defeat him? Believe me when I tell you that he is horrible, he is terrible, if there is someone who knows how bad it can be, it would be me, alright, so believe me when I say that just because you could not defeat him doesn't mean anything" said Maddie as she tried to explain, she had to stop Annie from thinking like this, from blaming herself, because it would only hurt her.

"But it is" said Annie as she cried.

"Stop it Annie, stop it, I am sure that Curtis would never want to see you this way" said Maddie.

"Well he can't, because he's like that because of me, I can't even take care of him when he needs me, because of me, he won't be able to get better, he will continue to be in pain, because of me, he won't get treated anymore" said Annie as she cried.

"That's not true" said Ivor as he had seen enough, he had heard all of Annie's cries, and he realized just how selfish he had been.

"Huh?" asked Annie as she sniffed and she let go of Maddie as she looked up at Ivor who had just walked into the room.

"I am sorry for the way I reacted earlier Annie, it was unfair of me" said Ivor as Annie sniffed and tears were still dropping from her eyes.

"I will keep my word, and I will continue to treat Curtis" said Ivor as Annie could not believe what she was hearing as she started to cry even more.

Ivor wondered if what he had said was wrong, because he did not know why Annie was still crying, he thought that she would have stopped crying by now with what he said.

"Oh thank you, thank you Ivor" said Annie as she cried, she was so grateful that he reconsidered, she did not know what to do, not at all, and well now that he told her that he would keep his word, she was just so relieved, that she could not stop crying.

"Don't thank me, I don't deserve it, thank Alina, she was the one that convinced me otherwise" said Ivor as he was not going to take the credit here, he had behaved foolishly earlier and he did not deserve to the thanked.

"Oh thank you Alina, thank you" said Annie as she looked at Alina as she smiled with her tear filled eyes.

"Oh don't thank me Annie, don't" said Alina as she felt like crying but she held her tears back as she walked to hug Annie as Annie hugged her.

"Thank you, Thank you Alina, I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't stood up for me" said Annie as she cried.

"Oh Annie, please stop crying, please, it will only make me cry" said Alina.

"Okay" said Annie as she sniffed and she wiped her tears as Alina smiled.

"There, everything will be okay, Curtis will be alright, you will see" said Alina as she smiled and Annie sniffed once again.

"Alright, okay" said Annie as she wiped her tears and Alina let go of her.

Maddie stood up as she sighed in relief, at least Annie was better now, it made her feel so much better that Annie was feeling better now.

Maddie walked to where Matt was standing as he held her hand.

"She's alright now" said Matt as he looked at Maddie.

"Yes she is" said Maddie as she nodded her head.

"Come on now, I am sure that we are disturbing Curtis here with all this noise that we are making, let's let him rest" said Alina as she helped Annie up and Annie looked at Curtis in worry.

"Don't worry, he should wake up by dinner time, that is the effect of the herb my master used on him to grant him some peace and rest" said Alina as she could tell that Annie was worried.

"Are you sure?" asked Annie as she looked at Alina.

"Yes I am Annie, trust me, he will wake up soon, let's leave him to rest" said Alina as she smiled and she walked out with Annie and she closed the door.

"Master, where are you going?" asked Alina as she saw Ivor wearing his coat, it looked like he was going out.

"Out, I will return soon, stay inside and don't go anywhere" said Ivor as he replied and he walked out the front door as he closed the door behind her.

"Where is he going?" asked Ollie as he looked at Alina.

"I don't know, he didn't say" said Alina as she shook her head, she was just as clueless as he was.

"He must be feeling so guilty, and that's why he's leaving, he can't even own up to his mistake like a man" said Maddie as she scoffed, she knew his type of people, so arrogant and cold, so high headed, so much so that they never admitted when they were wrong.

"No my master isn't like that, if he went out, it's because he has something very important to do" said Alina as she shook her head, she knew her master.

"He knows when he is wrong, and he always apologizes, so I am sorry to say Maddie, but what you said about him is not true at all" said Alina as she looked at Maddie.

"Whatever, I know what I know, and you know what you know" said Maddie as she was not budging at all, but out of respect for Alina, she would not say anything at all.

Ollie just looked at Maddie as he shook his head, it was obvious that she did not like Ivor one bit, not after what he did, Ollie just wondered how Maddie could always show what was on her mind, it was not like he was not annoyed and irritated with Ivor's behaviour as well, but he could not show it, not right now when they had nowhere tot go.

"Alright Maddie, alright" said Alina as she did not blame Maddie at all, so she felt that it was just best to keep quiet, so that peace would reign and no new arguments would start, for the sake of peace.
