"Well let me get to work now" said Alina as she smiled and she walked to the corner to get a broom, she was so happy that she would have some company, it was usually boring for her to do al her chores all alone, with no one to talk to at all.
"We can help you, if you want us to" said Annie as she smiled.
"We will?" asked Maddie in surprise as she was not informed of this earlier.
"Yes we will" said Annie as she looked at Maddie and she smiled, and Maddie just nodded her head.
"You will?" asked Alina in surprise.
"Yes of course we will" said Annie as she smiled.
"Wow, thanks you guys, you guys are the best" said Alina as she smiled, it felt so nice to have someone to offer to help you.
"Don't mention it" said Annie as she smiled and Maddie just wondered if it would have been better to stay back inside, than come out here only to do chores.
"Thank you" said Alina as she smiled.
"Anyway, I have to sweep the floor, and also to clean out the stables, and bundle some more hay" said Alina.
"Wait, you do all that?" asked Maddie.
"Well yes, of course I do" said Alina as she smiled.
"With no help at all?" asked Maddie.
"Well there is usually no one to help me, and well my Master usually goes out, so I do it all on my own, but don't worry, I am used to it, it is not all that bad" said Alina as she smiled.
"If you say so" said Maddie.
"Yes, so who wants to sweep, and clean the stables? Or bundle the hay?" asked Alina as she smiled.
"I will sweep" said Maddie.
"Okay, here you go" said Alina as she smiled and she gave the broom to Maddie as Maddie sighed, to be honest, she had never actually picked up a broom before, well okay, yes she had picked up a broom before, but she had never swept, she had no need to, back in Sunset Village, her room was always cleaned by cleaners, she never had to lift a finger, but well, here she was now.
"I will clean the stables, Annie, you can just bundle up the hay" said Alina as she smiled and she looked at Annie.
"Okay" said Annie as she smiled.
"Let's get to work" said Alina as she smiled happily and Maddie started to sweep.
Annie walked to pick up the hay as Alina started to clean inside the stables as the rain came crashing down, Maddie stopped sweeping as she looked outside, it still did not look like the rain was going to stop soon, she feared that if this rain continued till the afternoon, they would not be able to leave, and she did not want that at all.
"Hey, let's talk, because I find this silence boring" said Alina as she laughed and Maddie shook her head, of course Alina would be the only one to say such a sentence, as if forcing them all to talk to one another.
"Sure, okay" said Annie as she laughed, she found Alina's statement funny.
"So what do we talk about?" asked Annie as she laughed.
"I have no idea" said Alina as she shook her head.
"How does that make sense Alina, weren't you the one who told us that we need to talk? And yet you have nothing to talk about?" asked Maddie as she could not believe it.
"Well I don't know, I am used to talking to myself, but now that you guys are here, I don't know what to talk about" said Alina as she laughed.
"What do you guys usually talk about?" asked Alina.
"I don't know, many things" said Maddie as she replied, she and Annie were friends, they knew exactly what to talk about, but Maddie could not say the same for Alina.
"Oh okay, I know, how long have you guys been friends?" asked Alina as she stopped cleaning and she turned to look at Annie and Maddie as they looked at her, and then at each other.
"Good question" said Annie as she laughed.
"How long would you say that we have been friends Maddie?" asked Annie as she looked at Maddie and she smiled.
"Hmm, I don't know, wait let me calculate" said Maddie as she was thinking, since when she ran away from her house, followed Annie, Matt and Curtis, stayed at the High Council Palace, and then the whole Azazel battle thing happened, and well now, here they were.
"I would say two years" said Maddie as she was done with her calculation and she smiled.
"Yes, two years" said Annie as she laughed and she agreed with Maddie.
"Oh that's such a long time" said Alina as she smiled.
"Yes, a very long time" said Maddie as she smiled.
"How did you two meet then?" asked Alina as she smiled and she went back to cleaning.
"Well you could say that we were something like neighbours" said Maddie as she smiled.
"Yes, we were" said Annie as she smiled and Maddie continued sweeping.
"That's so cool, I wished that I had a friend like you both are friends, but that's not possible" said Alina as she smiled.
"Why not?" asked Annie as she smiled.
"Well because there are no people my age in the colony, I am the only teenager here, the rest are adults and children, and although I do love the children, they are like my little siblings, but I have always wanted a friend my age to talk to" said Alina as she smiled.
"I feel you" said Maddie as she smiled, she had once felt the same way Alina felt, but then Annie came along, and she was not alone anymore.
"But, now I have you guys, and we are friends… right?" asked Alina as she looked at Annie, and Annie looked at Maddie as Maddie did not want to make Alina feel sad.
"Right, we are friends" said Maddie as she smiled.
"Yayyy" said Alina as she smiled.
"Oh sorry, how rude of me, I have been the one asking you questions all the time, and you haven't asked me anything" said Alina as she laughed.
"That's alright" said Annie as she smiled.
"How about you guys ask me a question?" asked Alina as she smiled.
"Alright" said Annie as she smiled.
"Your hair colour, it's pretty" said Annie.
"Thank you" said Alina as she smiled.
"Have you always had white hair or…?" asked Annie.
"Oh I've always had white hair" replied Alina as she smiled.
"How come?" asked Maddie.
"Oh I don't know… at first my Master thought that something was wrong somewhere, since when I was growing up, my hair was always this white, but then my master realized that I was perfectly healthy, my hair is just like this" said Alina as she laughed.
"Well it's cool" said Maddie as she smiled.
"Thank you" said Alina as she smiled.
"I don't mean to ask something so personal but… haven't you ever wondered about parents?" asked Maddie.
"It's not personal at all Maddie" said Alina as she smiled.
"The truth is that yes… I have wondered about them, where they are, why they left me, but then again, I hold no grudges, because everything happens for a reason, and well if I had not been left there in the forest, I would have never met my Master, and to me, he's the best parent I can ever have" said Alina as she smiled.
"I admire that you don't hold grudges" said Annie as she smiled.
"Yes me too, It's something hard to do" said Maddie as she smiled.
"Well no, it not something really hard to do, it is only a matter of clearing your heart, and deciding that no matter what, nothing will get you down, even if it's very hard" said Alina.
"I don't consider myself an orphan, I consider myself a free spirit" said Alina as she smiled, and Maddie and Annie smiled as well.
"What about you guys? And your parents?" asked Alina as she smiled.
"Ahh well my parents are fine" said Annie as she smiled.
"That's great, who do you think you look more like, your mom, or your dad?" asked Alina as she smiled.
"I think my dad… I have his hair colour" said Annie as she laughed.
"Wow, that's nice" said Alina as she laughed.
"And what about you Maddie?" asked Alina as she smiled and she looked at Maddie.
"I am an orphan, I don't have any parents" said Maddie as she smiled, Annie could tell you that she would have been surprised by the way Maddie oh so casually said that she was an orphan.
"Oh you are?? So we are twins then?" asked Alina as she smiled.
"I guess that we are" said Alina with a smile.
"Yes we are" said Maddie as she smiled, and Annie looked at Maddie, she didn't want to say anything right now.
"That's cool" said Alina as she smiled happily.
