Chapter 417 - Something else

"I think Alina is very nice, don't you think so?" asked Ollie as he smiled and he looked at Annie.

"I think so as well, she is just so bubbly" said Annie as she could not help but laugh.

"Yes, I agree" said Ollie as he smiled, he really liked her, and not only because she was the only one who called him Ollie freely, she was just nice and sweet, in fact, he considered her the total opposite of a certain little blonde haired girl who was bent on making him suffer a lot, with her bad attitude.

"Hmm" said Annie as she smiled, it was funny how they expected to see no one on this mountain, and yet, there were so many people here, just living their lives, it was unreal, to think that everyone had their lives, and they were living it the best way that they could.

"So, you want to go and take a look around?" asked Ollie as he looked at Annie, he wanted to do some exploring, maybe even measuring just how much land this colony of theirs was, from where it started to where it ended.

Ollie's mind started to rage, if there was a colony of mountain dwellers on Caligo, then who was to say that there were not many other mountain dwellers further on Caligo as well?

"No, not right now, I don't feel like going anywhere" said Annie as she wanted to stay put where she was, not to complain, but she felt something weird, here, and she did not know what.

"Oh well okay" said Ollie as he smiled.

"Yes, but you don't have to stay here with me if you don't want to, you can go look around" said Annie as she smiled.

"No, no of course not, I won't do that" said Ollie as he shook his head.

"How can I leave you all alone? No way, we'll stay here together, I will keep you company" said Ollie as he smiled and Annie smiled at him, Ollie was always the sweetest, it was just in his nature.

"Oh alright then" said Annie as she smiled, she was glad that she would not going to be here all alone.

"What's that?" asked Ollie as he pointed at something brown and sticky in a bowl on the ground.

"Ahh well that's tree sap, Alina was using it to glue the arrows back together" said Annie as she smiled.

"Ahh I see" said Ollie as he smiled.

"You know what, I wonder what's taking Curtis and the rest a long time to return?" asked Ollie.

"Hmm, I don't know, they are taking too long, I agree" said Annie as she shook her head, she would have been worried that something bad happened to them, but Annie was relieved because Matt was with Curtis and Maddie, but Annie could not help but worry that Curtis had another one of his episodes, he did not have one this morning, which worried Annie that it would happen and catch them off guard, and that was worse than anything else.

"Don't worry Annie, I am sure that Curtis is fine" said Ollie as he could guess what Annie was thinking from the seriously worried look on her face.

"I hope he is" said Annie as she was always so worried about Curtis, she always had been before, but now, her worry was doubled, because they were both in the same situation.

"Okay, how about we talk about something else to take your mind off Curtis?" asked Ollie as he smiled.

"Okay" said Annie as she smiled, although she doubted that she would be able to taker her mind off Curtis.

"Okay, do you want to know my first impression of Curtis?" asked Ollie as he smiled.

"What?" asked Annie out of curiosity.

"Well I met him once before, before I got the chance to meet you, because back then, you were still in your coma" said Ollie as he explained.

"But anyway, I always thought that Curtis was odd, he was always so cold, he never spoke to me at all, and then when I finally met him with you present, I thought that he was your big brother, or worse your boyfriend, he was, and is always so protective of you" said Ollie as he laughed and Annie laughed, the way Ollie thought was just so funny.

"Of course he's protective of me, he's my guardian" said Annie as she laughed.

"Although about him being cold, he wasn't always like that, I guess that he just started to get more serious and cold when it dawned on us that we no longer had time to prepare to face Azazel" said Annie as she sighed.

"Well, all I know Is that Curtis is nice, once you get to know him" said Ollie as he smiled.

"Yes, he is" said Annie as she smiled.

"Wait, how old is Curtis exactly?" asked Ollie out of curiosity, he had no information on Curtis at all.

"Ahh well he's over a thousand years old" said Annie.

"Wait, wait, he's over a thousand years old, and yet he looks like that?" asked Ollie in shock.

"That's his human form, more specifically, his teenage human form, since he decided to start going to high school with me as a bid to protect me" said Annie as she smiled.

"Hey, what does Azazel look like anyway? I mean not to sound insensitive or anything, but I have never seen a single picture of the guy, all I know is that he is a tyrant, and he is feared in all three realms" said Ollie.

"Ahh well Azazel has two forms, mainly" said Annie.

"Two forms?" asked Ollie in surprise.

"Yes, his first form, is his true form, the one he has when he no longer has magic to sustain himself" said Annie.

"I have seen that form in my dreams before, he's old, wrinkly, and well just gross" said Annie as she just flinched thinking about it.

"And his other form?" asked Ollie.

"Well his human form, sort of, he's young, he has dark blue eyes, and black hair" said Annie as she explained, she never thought that she would speak about Azazel so casually.

"So Maddie gets her blue eyes from him?" asked Ollie as he was curious.

"No, she doesn't or at least I don't think so, she gets them from her mother" said Annie as she shook her head.

"Why do you say that?" asked Ollie.

"Well I say that because I have seen Azazel face to face, his blue eyes are menacing, chilling, like they can suck out the very life out of you" said Annie.

"While Maddie has a warm tone to her eyes, it's sweet, her eyes shine usually when she smiles genuinely at you" said Annie as he smiled and Ollie smiled.

"I hope that I will get to see that shine in her eyes someday" said Ollie as he smiled.

"Oh you will, believe me, Maddie isn't that bad" said Annie as she smiled.

"Speaking of Maddie, is it only me, or does she not seem to like this place?" asked Ollie as he looked at Annie.

"It's not only you, I know that she does not want to stay here, mainly because she does not trust Alina and Master Ivor" said Annie.

"She doesn't trust people easily does she?" asked Ollie.

"It's only her nature, believe me, I know" said Annie.

"I have known Maddie for all of my life, but I am only starting to know the true her right now" said Annie.

"Back at Sunset Village, we were enemies, to say the least… she hated me, and I didn't know why, she always used to bully me for some odd reason, she was always mean" said Annie.

"I can picture that" said Ollie as he laughed.

"Yes" said Annie as she laughed.

"Maybe she was like that because she knew that her father was… well you know… Azazel" said Ollie as he was indirectly saying that she knew Azazel wanted to kill her.

"Well no, actually no, she didn't know that her Father was trying to kill me, actually, she only found out when her Father ordered her to start being friends with me" said Annie.

"Really??" asked Ollie as he was surprised this was like some sort of drama.

"Yes really, Maddie wasn't really my friend in the beginning, she was only pretending to… but along the line… we actually got to be very good friends" said Annie as she smiled.

"You know, I have always wondered about the story of how the worst villain in the entire realms daughter, ended up being on your side, the opposite side of her father" said Ollie.

"Well Maddie disobeyed her Father, and well she ran away from home, she did not want to do what her parents told her to do… so she left, and she came along with us" said Annie as she smiled.

"This is the best story ever, like good conquers evil" said Ollie as he laughed and Annie could not help but laugh as well.

"But I do have a question, I mean… doesn't Azazel want his daughter back? I mean for all I know; she is his only child after all?" asked Ollie.

"Well no, according to what Maddie told him, he denounced her as his child, he said that his own child could never betray him" said Annie.

"Ouch, and how did Maddie take it?" asked Ollie.

"Well not bad, not at all, she already hated her Father, from what I know… being Azazel's daughter was nothing easy, both physically and emotionally, but whenever I try to ask Maddie about it, she doesn't go deep into detail, but I know that she suffered a lot" said Annie as she sighed.

"So Maddie could never betray you?" asked Ollie.

"Never, never, ever, she would never, she had no reason to, and besides, I trust her with my life" said Annie was all the confidence in the world, she trusted Maddie so much.

"Hmm" said Ollie as he smiled, he admired Annie's confidence in Maddie, but like the text he had come across some years ago it read "The children always avenge their fathers" he really hoped that Maddie would never do that.

"You know what I find weird?" asked Annie as she smiled.

"What?" asked Ollie.

"The fact that you like talking about Maddie a lot" said Annie as she laughed.

"Well because to me, she's like an enigma, I would like to know what goes on in her head, she's interesting" said Ollie honestly.

"Ahh okay then" said Annie as she laughed and Ollie laughed as well.

"Hey, what's so funny?" asked Maddie as she walked to where Ollie and Annie were sitting together.
