"Another day… another day" said Maddie as she sighed and she waved her hand as she and Annie's beds as they were getting ready to go down for Breakfast.
"Another day indeed" said Annie as she tried to tie her hair into a ponytail, but she failed, oh how she missed her long hair, she could only leave her hair down, and she thought it looked very bland.
"Do you know when we are going to go back to the Palace?" asked Maddie as she looked at Annie as she brushed her hair.
"No I don't I haven't had time to ask Curtis yet" said Annie as she sighed, another thing that she missed, the way she could instantly communicate with Curtis, but now she had to see him to talk with him.
"Oh I hope we go back to the Palace soon, sure this place is beautiful and all, but I feel so uneasy here" said Maddie.
"What do you mean?" asked Annie as he looked at Maddie.
"I don't know, yesterday evening I felt weird, as if someone was talking about me" said Maddie.
"Oh Maddie, are you sure? You might just be overreacting" said Annie as she laughed and she shook her head.
"Believe me Annie, I am not, I am sure of it, someone was talking about me" said Maddie.
"Well alright if you say so" said Annie as she laughed.
"What do you think about the Queen?" asked Annie out of the blue as she turned to look at Maddie.
"Well honestly, I think she's creepy, nice but creepy" said Maddie as she replied honestly.
"Maddie" said Annie as she looked at Maddie with her wide eyes.
"What??" asked Maddie.
"The walls might have ears" said Annie.
"Well I doubt they do" said Maddie.
"But why do you think she's creepy?" asked Annie.
"I don't know, there is something about her smile" said Maddie.
"Sure, it looks sweet, but there obviously has to be something behind that" said Maddie, believe her, she knew people like the Queen, who looked nice and as sweet as gentle as doves, for one, her so called mother was like, always smiling, but on the inside, she cared for no one but herself.
"How are you so sure?" asked Annie.
"Look, I did say that she creepy, but remember I said that she is nice as well" said Maddie.
"I just don't trust her, and that's just my own opinion" said Maddie as she smiled.
"Well I have to go with you on that" said Annie, she knew that Maddie was right, they could not trust anyone, except for themselves.
"And what about the King?" asked Annie as she looked at Maddie.
"*Sigh*, Oh Annie, well he is something else" said Maddie as she sighed and she looked at Annie.
"What do you mean?" asked Annie as she was confused.
"Well I don't like him one bit" said Maddie.
"Why?" asked Annie.
"It's the way he looks at me, I know that look" said Maddie as she sighed.
"He looks at me like I am Azazel daughter" said Maddie as she forced a smile, it was the truth, she had seen that look many times, it was the look of disgust, of contempt of anger.
It was the look that spoke "You are not worthy to be here" Stella has that look before, but she changed, everyone else also had that looked before, and they gave her a chance, but she could not expect the King himself to give her that benefit of a doubt.
When people knew that Maddie was Azazel's daughter, there were two looks that they could give her, the one being the look of contempt and disgust, and the other being the look of fear, and some crazy people even looked at her like they wanted to be her, well if only that were possible.
"Oh Maddie…" said Annie as she did not know what to say.
"Annie, I know that look, I have seen it many times, he distrusts me, and I don't blame him" said Maddie as she sighed, that was what she got for being the daughter of a tyrant, if only she could have chose which family she would be born into, then she would have.
"You know, being in the Palace for so long, I forgot that in the real world, I am an outcast" said Maddie as she smiled sadly, everyone treated her so nice in the Palace, but out here, people looked at her with disdain.
"Don't say anything Annie, I know you are trying so hard to find something good to say" said Maddie.
Annie closed and opened her mouth, she knew Maddie was right, she was trying to think of something positive to say, but she could not.
"Well look at the bright side" said Annie.
"Which is?" asked Maddie as she looked at Annie.
"At least you are not as annoying as Prince Oliver" said Annie as she laughed lightly.
"You know what, yes, yes that is the truth, that guy is the pure embodiment of annoying, and I even thought that Evie had that title in the bag, but he came and stole it away" said Maddie as she laughed.
"Just don't tell Evie that" said Annie as she laughed.
"Oh no worries, we are cool now" said Maddie as she laughed.
"Well let's go before we are late for breakfast" said Annie as she smiled.
"Okay" said Maddie as she smiled.
…
Breakfast was… well calm, compared to yesterday's dinner which was a not so silent heated battle between Albert and Curtis, there was some light chatting, but Maddie just stayed quiet through it all as she focused on her food.
"My King, I would like to ask for your permission to search in the library" said Curtis as he looked at Albert.
"That would be alright Curtis, you may do as you wish" replied Albert as Annie, Maddie and Matt were surprised, even though she made sure not to show it, was it only them, or was Albert being much more nice today?
Ollie smiled as Christina smiled at her husband, he was being good today, and she liked it.
"Thank you my King" said Curtis as he bowed, he could not waste any more time, each passing second, he could feel like something bad was going to happen, he needed to find what he was looking for, and he needed to find it soon.
"Father, Mother, May I give Annie, Maddie and Matt a tour of the Castle?" asked Ollie as he smiled, he could see that his Father was in a good mood, so he was going to take this opportunity.
Christina looked at Albert and she smiled at him, as he sighed silently and he looked at Ollie.
"You may do as you wish" said Albert.
"Thank you Father" said Ollie as he smiled, this was a glorious day, his father would let him do something fun for once, he could not wait.
"Oh that is wonderful, while the children go and have some fun, we parents can chat a bit" said Christina as she smiled and Lisa and John smiled.
"*Ahem*" said Albert as he cleared his throat and he suddenly stood up.
"Please excuse me everyone, there is something urgent that needs my attention" said Albert as he did not wait for anyone to reply as he walked away, well now at least Maddie knew where Ollie got his sudden exits from.
"Oh you know how Kingly duties are" said Christina as she turned to look at everyone and she gave them a reassuring smile.
"He should return soon, and if not, the day goes on" she said as she smiled and everyone stayed quiet, they all just found the was Albert quickly left weird.
"Mother, may I be excused?" asked Ollie as he smiled and he turned to look at his mother.
"Of course you may" said Christina as she smiled.
"Come on, let's go you guys" said Ollie as he turned to look at Annie, Maddie and Matt as they looked at him as if he was not serious, well because he wasn't.
"No need to worry, you can all run along" said Christina as she smiled at Annie, Maddie and Matt.
"Thank you your Majesty" said Annie, Maddie and Matt as they all bowed their heads, seeing as they had no other choice, they stood up from the dining table, as they followed after Ollie who seemed to be on top of the world.
"Make sure to be back before lunch time" said Christina as she smiled.
"Alright Mother, we will" said Ollie as he smiled and he and Annie, Maddie and Matt walked out of the dining room, as he could not wait to show them around the Castle.
"Ahh Children" said Christina as she smiled and she looked at Lisa and John as they also smiled, while Curtis looked very serious as he was deep in his own thoughts.
