"Our rooms are perfectly fine your Majesty" said Lisa as she looked at Christina and she smiled.
"I am glad that they are" said Christina as she smiled and she drank her wine as Ollie sighed silently in relief as he drank his water, a conversation was bound to start right about now.
"Curtis, I cannot help but notice that you are acting more… alive" said Christina as she smiled and she looked at Curtis as everyone turned to look at Curtis.
To Christina, Curtis' behaviour as of late was rather different, in the past, he never used to eat, or sit to eat dinner with them, he always just stood, but there seemed to be something different about him, but she just could not lay a finger on him.
"What can I say? You have to blend sometimes" said Curtis as he gave a slight smile and he was as polite as he could be.
"I do believe that you are right" said Christina as she smiled.
"Hmm" said Curtis as he smiled.
"If you do not mind me asking my Queen, the sudden invitation from you and his Majesty surprised me" said Curtis.
"How so?" asked Albert as he looked at Curtis.
"Well because, you have never shown any concern for the Grey family in the past" said Curtis as he spoke the truth plainly, that was the truth and no one could change that.
Lisa looked at John as he looked back at her and then at Annie, who in turn was looking at Matt as Maddie looked at her, Curtis had just said something upsetting, the smile on Christina's face wavered almost for a moment before she went back to smiling again.
Ollie was praying silently, here he was trying to lessen the tension, but in turn, he had just made things even worse, why did Curtis have to bring up this topic? Sure, he could understand where he was coming from, but this was not the time to talk about this at all, this was just too much.
"Well it is true that we have never had a cordial relationship with the Greys" replied Christina as she smiled, and Albert just looked as serious as ever, he knew the reason why that was so, he did not want to end up endangering his realm.
To the Royals, whatever happened between the Grey family and Azazel was their own problem, Azazel never went after the Throne, he only went after the Greys and that most times did not affect them at all, and as so not to taint themselves in the eyes of the people, they decided to disassociate themselves from the Greys as far as possible, that was just how things were done.
"But I do believe that it is time for a change" said Christina as she smiled.
"Don't you think so as well Curtis?" asked Christina as she smiled at him before she took a sip from her wine.
"I do think so my Queen" said Curtis as he replied and he smiled, there was something about this that he did not like at all.
"After all, the Greys are part of the Witch Realm, they are an Witch family just like anyone else" said Christina.
"And I do not understand why we have to be separate when we have one common enemy" said Christina as she smiled, Azazel was a tyrant, in all three realms, and it was clear that the Greys had the key to beating him, as well as reviving him.
Albert looked at Christina, as if telling her with his eyes that she was speaking too much on this matter.
"You know my king, I find it funny that it is at this point in time that you finally decided to regard Azazel as a common enemy" said Curtis as he smiled coldly, did they think that he was stupid or what? He knew how much they tried to distance themselves from the Grey family and Azazel, they always washed their hands clean from them, as if declaring that they will have no part in the millennium long battle.
"As the Queen said, it is high time for a change" replied Albert swiftly as he did not look fazed at all.
Ollie decided that he needed to end this deep conversation, what happened to not talking about the Realm's matters during dinner?? Well it would seem that rule had been ignored, but this was getting too heated, he knew his father, and it would any be a matter of time before he would light a fuse.
"*Cough* *Cough* *Cough*" said Ollie as he drank his water and he deliberately choked on the water as everyone turned to look at him, including his father and Curtis who were involved in a heated staring contest.
"Oliver, are you alright?" asked Christina as she looked at her son who was coughing as he tried to get the water out of his throat, he was now regretting doing this, he should have just faked it, but he knew that his Father and Mother would know if he was faking it.
"I *Cough*, I… am alright mother, nothing serious" said Ollie as he managed to clear his throat as he smiled in assurance.
"Be careful next time" said Christina.
"Yes mother" said Ollie as he nodded his head, at least he had succeeded in ending the intense conversation between his father and Curtis.
"So Annie, what is your favourite spell?" asked Christina as she turned to look at Annie and Annie was caught off guard as she looked around, and she realized that she was the only Annie here.
"Ah… well… there are many spells your Majesty, they are all too nice to choose from" said Annie as she replied politely, she was so shocked when she heard Christina call out to her.
"Oh I am sure that you must have a favourite regardless" said Christina as she smiled.
"Ah… well I…" said Annie as she looked at Curtis for help, she did not want to say too much, and as if by instinct she could read in his eyes that he was telling her to go on and be herself.
"I am waiting for your reply" said Christina as she smiled and Maddie and Matt looked at each other, while Ollie was just relieved that his Father was eating his dinner in peace.
"Ahh well your Majesty… I really like the levitatis spell" said Annie.
"A nice choice, how come?" asked Christina as she smiled.
"Well because… it is the first spell I ever learnt, from the best teacher" said Annie as she looked at Curtis and she smiled at him, as he could not help but smile back.
"Oh how lovely" said Christina as she smiled.
"How about you demonstrate the spell for us?" asked Christina as she smiled and Maddie, Annie and Matt's eyes went wide, Annie could not do that, she had lost her powers.
"Ahh well I…." said Annie as she did not know what to say.
"Annie has been advised to put a stop to any magic for now, since she just woke up from her coma not too long ago, in order not to strain her body" said Curtis as he spoke up.
"Ah, what a shame" said Christina as she smiled.
"Your health is of the uttermost important, so you do not need to do anything" said Christina as she smiled.
"Thank you your Majesty" said Annie as she bowed her head slightly as she sighed, Curtis really got her out of that one, and very quickly for that matter.
After that, dinner went on with small talk, until it was time to retire to bed.
"Please do have a goodnight everyone" said Christina as she smiled and she stood up as Albert stood up.
"Goodnight" said Albert.
"Goodnight your Majesties" said everyone.
"Goodnight Father, Goodnight Mother" said Ollie as he smiled and Christina smiled at him as she and Albert walked out of the dining room.
"Goodnight Everyone" said Ollie as he smiled and he turned to look at the others that were still left in the dining room.
"Goodnight" said John and Lisa, and Annie, Curtis and Matt as Maddie stayed silent.
Ollie stood up with a smile as he walked out of the dining room.
"That is our cue to leave as well" said Curtis as he stood up and everyone followed after him.
…
"Well that was…interesting" said Maddie as she climbed into bed and she and Annie's room, that was way too luxurious, it even had a chandelier, and a very large one for that matter, and their beds, well their beds were the softest that she had ever felt, their room had a classical feel to it, there was rich dark wood everywhere, it was used for most of the objects in the room, the table and the closet and the floors.
"You can say that again, Curtis really saved me there" said Annie as she yawned, she was just so tired.
"Oh yes he did, because I don't know what we would have said if he didn't" said Maddie.
"But you know what, this room is just so nice, and the bed is so soft" said Maddie.
"You sound like you want this place all to yourself" said Annie as she laughed.
"No of course not" said Maddie.
"We are roomies for life" said Maddie as she laughed.
"You sure about that?" asked Annie as she raised an eyebrow at Maddie.
"Of course I am" said Maddie as she laughed and she winked.
"Okay then" said Annie as she laughed.
