"Liar!" said Azazel with anger that could erupt a whole volcano, his voice reeked of bitterness and rage.
"I do not know what you are talking about, I never killed your wife" said Annie as this all felt absurd to her, this accusation of her killing someone was obviously a lie, and Azazel was taking out all his aggression on her.
"Curtis tell him, I never did anything like that" said Annie as she looked at Curtis.
Annie knew that it was stupid to try to argue with Azazel considering that he wanted to kill her and nothing more, but she just could not stand his false claims, she did not have the heart to kill anyone.
"Annie, just relax okay" said Curtis as he looked at Annie, he sensed a foul play here, Azazel was not just anyone that would do something without reason, and believe him he knew, and for him to accuse Annie of killing Clove, that meant that he had to be very sure of that.
It meant that he had proof, or evidence that supported his false claim, that meant that someone framed Annie, but the question was who and not why, because it was obvious that whoever did this wanted Annie dead.
"It does not matter if you admit to what you did or not" said Azazel.
"The damage is already done, and there is no way to reverse it" he said, but there was a little look of sadness in his eyes and immediately disappeared like it was never there with his next sentence.
"All I want, is for you to suffer" he said with bitterness
"For you to suffer, the way I suffered when you took Clove away from me" he said.
"But I did not do that, believe me" said Annie as she knew that she was reasoning with a madman, someone who found killing people easy and irrelevant.
"Be quiet!" said Azazel.
"I despise it when people keep on repeating the same thing over and over again" said Azazel with a hint of distaste and Annie looked away and sighed, she was sure that Azazel would not believe her, no matter what she said.
Annie looked down, everyone was still supposedly sleeping, and according to what Azazel said, they would die soon if they were left like that and Azazel was obviously wasting their time with his accusations, she had to find a way to wake them up, but the thing was she did no even know which spell to use to reverse it.
"What's the rush?" asked Azazel as he followed Annie's sight of direction.
"I have waited a long time for this, so what are some more few minutes of waiting?" asked Azazel with a chuckle.
But that was the thing exactly, they did not have any time at all, if they made a move it have to be right now, they were basically all on her own out here.
"Annie, you need to get out of here" said Curtis in Annie's mind.
"Yes, I know that Curtis" said Annie
"But how do I do that? And I also cannot leave everyone like this" said Curtis
"I know" said Curtis as he looked around, he needed to create another distraction.
Azazel was at a distance, he was not too close, and yet not too far, Curtis thought that if he could delay Azazel fast enough, Annie could escape again.
"Annie do you remember your favourite spell?" asked Curtis
"You mean the Levitatis spell??" asked Annie
"Yes that one" said Curtis
"Yes I remember it" said Annie, as why wouldn't she, as Curtis had said it was her first ever spell, the first spell she ever learnt, and it had a special place in her heart.
"Good, at the count of three, you will run, cast a levitatis spell on everyone make sure that you touch them, and don't look back" said Curtis seriously.
"Okay" said Annie
"But what will you do?" asked Annie
"You will see" said Curtis as he looked at Azazel.
"Ready?" asked Curtis
"Ready" said Annie as she nodded.
"Good" said Curtis.
"3, 2...1" said Curtis and at that moment Annie ran as fast as she could.
"Levitatis" she said in her head as she touched Maddie, and she moved on to Matt, and everyone else, she did as she was told and she did not look back.
At the same time, Curtis moved his hands and green vines as thick as five ropes merged together sprung out from nowhere, they all went straight for Azazel and the wrapped around him.
But that was not all, as the vines wrapped around him, clay from the earth below began to form and cover his entire body, Azazel just stood still as this whole process was taking place.
At that same moment rock rose up from the ground and began to attach itself to the clay covering Azazel in a layer of strong rocks , Azazel now looked like a tree, that had rock as bark.
Azazel could feel his body being trapped in a layer of vines and clay that was quickly hardening, and now with the rocks being added, he was bound and Curtis was sure that he could not be loosed anytime soon with that amount of binding.
"Hmm Interesting approach book" said Azazel as Curtis ran to join Annie.
"Curtis, what did you do?" asked Annie as she saw Curtis caught up to her.
"Nothing much, but he should be bound for some time" said Curtis
"Okay" said Annie.
"Annie not too high, calm down" said Curtis as he looked up and noticed that everyone was being lifted high into the sky, he was sure that it was because Annie was stressed that they were going so high, they were lucky that the sky was dark or else they would have been burnt by the sun.
"Oh umm sorry" said Annie as she looked up and noticed what Curtis was talking about, she heaved a deep breath and tried to calm down.
"It's fine Annie, everything will be alright, just relax" said Curtis
"*Sigh* I hope it is" said Annie
Meanwhile back in the middle of nowhere.
It seemed like Azazel had enough of this little encampment of his.
"Well that's enough of this nonsense" said Azazel.
"Let's end this" he said, and without even lifting a finger and all the vines, clay and rocks fell down to the ground with just a stare like they were nothing at all.
...
"Curtis where exactly are we going?" asked Annie
"I don't know" said Curtis as he was totally drained, he did not know what to do, they were currently in the middle of nowhere, they had gone deep into the plains, and he was sure that they were now trapped her.
The only reasonable thing for them to do was for Annie to fight Azazel, he could not do it because his magic was not strong enough, it was only Annie that could do that, and right now judging from her current state, he was sure that she was too stressed and unstable to concentrate to do any spell right now.
In the middle of being lost in his thoughts, Curtis immediately heard something that made him shout.
"Annie get out of the way" he said in alarm as he pushed Annie, and she fell flat on the ground.
"Ouch" said Annie as she cried in pain, that push was unexpected and she could not block her fall.
"Curtis why did yo--" said Annie as she soon saw why Curtis did what he did.
In that same moment as if a bullet hit, thunder struck the place where Curtis hurriedly pushed Annie from, and Azazel appeared in that place.
Annie's heart dropped, she was going to be hit by the thunder if not for Curtis pushing her away.
"You know book, I am sure that you could have done better with that trap of yours" said Azazel.
Annie looked up, she had to calm down her heart, she was scared and that was affecting her powers, Annie decided that the best thing right now was to put everyone down, she could not risk hurting them in the delicate state that they were in.
Annie moved her hand and brought them all back safely to the ground, and she when she was sure that they were on the ground, she said "cadere" to end her spell.
Curtis looked at Annie, there was only one thing going on in his mind right now, and that was to protect Annie, so he knew what he must do.
"Annie run now!" said Curtis to Annie
As soon as Annie heard that she did not disobey at all, she took off running, and in that moment Curtis raised his hands up, and the sand began to form around him, the sand gathered into a cloud of dust, and Curtis sent the dust towards Azazel.
The dust did not even stand a chance, because as soon as Azazel realized what Curtis was planning, he just moved his hand and the dust dispersed, Curtis could not give up, he could not, so he kept on sending the dust cloud towards Azazel.
With each step Azazel took he moved his hand and the dust dispersed, Curtis could not let this happen he had to keep on going, but it was useless.
In a second, Azazel felt weak, he felt pain, he could not keep this going on for long, he needed to renew his powers and he needed to renew them now!
With the last wave of his hand, he was finally face to face with Curtis.
Curtis frowned, he knew that he had failed everyone especially Annie, and in that same moment, Azazel picked up Curtis's neck and lifted him up into the air.
"Noooooo!!" cried Annie as she stopped running and she turned to look back, she saw that Azazel had captured Curtis, she saw that Azazel was holding Curtis by his neck.
"No please no, don't hurt him" said Annie as she totally stopped moving.
"Please, I beg you, don't hurt him," she said as she pleaded with him.
