Chapter 249 - It's a pity

"Milady, Milady I have news" said Nia as she hurriedly rushed to Clove, and she almost tripped, but she quickly got steady on her feet again.

"Woah slow down Nia, since when did you become so clumsy??" asked Clove as she laughed.

"Milady, I have serious terrible news" said Nia as she finally reached Clove.

"And it is because of the serious terrible news that you want to hurt yourself hmm??" asked Clove like a big sister scolding her younger siblings.

"I'm sorry Milady" said Nia as she bowed her head down.

"No don't be" said Clove as she smiled.

"So what is the great news that you wanted to tell me?" asked Clove

"Milady, you know that vampire... I think his name was Liam, that arrogant, always unserious one??" asked Nia

"Yes, I know who you are talking about" said Clove, how could she forget that stupid vampire who was seriously disgusting to even think of doing such to his bosses, wife, she hated him, and he hated her for some obvious reasons.

"Well Milady, he's dead" said Nia as she still could not believe it herself.

"Word has spread around the camp that someone found him dead behind one of the tents" said Nia.

"He had no wounds or bruises, he was probably poisoned" said Nia

"Wow, what a shame, poor guy, who would kill him just like that?, it's a pity for him to fall to such a fate" asked Clove as she was truly surprised just because she didn't like him, and he harassed her once did not mean that she wished him death.

"Milady, that's where the real gossip comes in" said Nia as she was giving Clove the low down of what was happening around the camp, it was easy for her to get all this information since she usually went about running errands for Clove or going to the kitchen to prepare her food.

"Oh is that so??" asked Clove

"Yes Milady" said Nia as she looked left and right, as if scared that someone was overhearing their conversation.

"Apparently many believe that it was Selene that killed him, but of course no one would say it right to her face, but everyone totally believes that she was the one, even though she blatantly denied it" said Nia.

"I do not doubt it either, Selene is a very dangerous woman, and she can do just about anything" said Clove as she did not look surprised and she drank water from the glass cup nearby.

"But my question is why??" asked Nia

"From what I have heard, the two had some sort of romance going on" said Nia as she leaned in and whispered, which caused Clove to choke.

"Milady are okay??" asked Nia

"Yes Nia "*cough* I am alright" said Clove, she choked because she was surprised, not at what she had heard, but what Nia was telling her.

"Nia since when did you start to like gossip??" asked Clove as she laughed, who would have thought that the usually quiet Nia loved to talk so much... about other people.

"Milady, it's not gossip, it's the truth" said Nia in her defense.

"Okay Nia whatever you say" said Clove as she laughed.

"Milady, if you don't like it, then I will keep my mouth shut" said Nia as she gestured zipping her mouth.

"No Nia, it's okay, I Love hearing your voice, so carry on" said Clove as she smiled and Nia smiled brightly.

"According to what I heard one witch telling another witch, one of the vampires said that the last time that they saw him was last night, and apparently him and Selene had agreed to meet" said Nia

"Where did they meet?" asked Clove

"That's the thing no one is sure?? but I am certain that they could not have met outside the camp, it would be too dangerous, and if they did, the witches on patrol would have seen them" said Nia

"I am sure that Selene did this, all the evidence points to her" said Clove

"I also think so, but it's all suspicious, what could Selene possibly gain from killing him?" asked Nia.

"I have no idea either, but what I am sure of is that we cannot count anything out, for all we know, something could have happened between the both of them, like maybe a fight, that caused her to kill him" said Clove

"I highly doubt that, from what I've heard their relationship was harmonious" said Nia

Clove laughed, it was hard to picture Selene having an 'harmonious' relationship with any other living thing besides herself.

"Milady why are you laughing?" asked Nia.

"It's nothing Nia" said Clove as she stopped laughing.

"I am hungry now, can you please get me something to eat, I would go myself, but you have stopped me from going out" said Clove

"Ahhh Milady, I am so sorry" said Nia as she realized that she had rushed over here to tell Clove the news, when she was supposed to get her breakfast.

"I forgot to get you breakfast, I will be right back" said Nia as she stood up quickly and rushed to go get Clove breakfast.

"Silly girl" said Clove as she shook her head and laughed.

Meanwhile back in Azazel's office.

"Selene, you claim to be innocent" said Azazel

"Because I am" said Selene as Azazel raised his finger to shush her.

She was standing across his desk, and he had his back turned to her, she could not see his face, but she knew that she was in trouble again, after what happened in the morning, he had called her here again.

"Selene, why did you not tell me that you and Liam agreed to meet before he was found dead?" asked Azazel as he turned to look at her.

Selene's eyes went wide, who could have told him this?? it was probably that other wretched vampire, she would deal with him later, but for now she had to explain herself.

"Selene, I'm waiting" said Azazel as he was looking at her patient waiting for what she could possibly come up with next to defend herself.

"My Lord, of course I could not tell you that, you were already accusing me of killing him, and you did not give me a chance to speak and defend myself" said Selene.

"I see" said Azazel as he did not buy her explanation one bit.

"So what did you two discuss?" asked Azazel

"My Lord, I..." said Selene.

"Selene I am not in the mood for your stupid explanations so shut whatever else you want to say, and tell me what I asked for" said Azazel

"My Lord, we... he... Liam wanted to date me, he came to me asking for us to be a couple to be together" said Selene as she sighed and bowed her head to the ground.

"And I refused, I said that it was a taboo, for a vampire and witch to ever be together, and then he was so upset that he left angrily" said Selene as her voice sounded scared.

"After he left angrily, I did not see him, I tried to stop him that he was being unreasonable but he shut me off, and he left, and it was not till this morning that I heard the news that he was dead" said Selene as she looked up.

"You have to believe me, I did not kill him, I would not, I don't have the power to do such, he must have probably been upset and he got himself into something dangerous" said Selene

"That must have been the cause of his death and not me, why does everyone keep blaming me??" asked Selene as she looked hurt.

"You have to believe me, I did not do it, why don't you scan him body and find out the cause of his death, I had no hand in it at all, I assure you" said Selene.

"Hmm" said Azazel as he appeared to be thinking.

"I have heard you, and I will carry out a scan, but Selene if I ever find out that you had a hand in this, you are done for" said Azazel and Selene shivered.

"And also, be careful" said Azazel.

"Now leave my office" said Azazel

"Yes My lord" said Selene as she wasted no time and she left immediately.

...

Back in the camp.

Annie, Maddie and Matt were in the newly set up library, Annie had come here because the day before she had seen a book on enchanting that caught her eye, and she wanted to read it and learn more about different enchants.

Why Maddie, and Matt were here?? she also did not know, she had told Maddie that she was going to the library and Maddie decided to follow her, and as they were walking Maddie told Matt where they were going and Matt decided to follow them.

And they called her little?? she was the youngest and yet they were both following her like little duckies.

For the past three days now, everything had been quiet and peaceful, it was almost too good to be true, and they were right to think that, because you never know what could be coming next, especially in the witch realm.
