Chapter 246 - Wicked

"You are feisty tonight, I love it Cat eyes" said Liam as he looked at Selene with a smirk.

"Just a precaution vampire, you know how gossips spreads" said Selene as she looked at him with a smile, he could not tell if it was real or not, but who cared.

Selene's tent was extremely lit, Liam could bet that you could even see a tiny ant on the table if you looked well enough, was she afraid of the dark or what?? thought Liam to himself.

But he shrugged off that thought of his, when he realized that he was thinking the woman who could probably be the embodiment of darkness itself, so it had to be something else.

"Why don't you want people to know about our relationship, as far as I know you do not care what people think" said Liam as he looked around, this was actually his seconds time in Selene's tent, but he did not have the time to look around the first time, because he had come for business related purposes.

Selene was surprised, was this vampire watching her?? it would make sense why he would think such about her, to be honest she was a bit creeped out by him, no one had ever paid a lot of attention to her like he did.

"You are right you wretche... I mean lovely Vampire" said Selene as she cautioned herself from cursing him.

"I do not give a darn about what anyone thinks" she said seriously, still with a smile on her face.

"But as I said earlier, It's for precautions sake" said Selene.

"You surprise me" said Liam

"What do you mean?" asked Selene

"You would usually ignore, or dodge my question, but you replied to me" said Liam

"Does that mean that we have now advanced in our relationship?? Ehh??" said Liam as he moved his right eyebrow up and down.

"Well let's just say that, I had a change of heart" said Selene as she looked down.

"Come on, let's sit" said Selene as she gestured that they sit on the couch.

"Sure why not" said Liam as he did not wait for a second invitation, and he just plopped on the red couch like he owned the place, which irritated Selene but she just smiled and paid no attention to it.

"So Cat eyes, is this a date or what?" asked Liam.

"Well it depends Vampire, what do you want it to be?" asked Selene softly.

"I want it to be something we can both enjoy" said Liam, he let his guard down by only a little, he also still had many questions to ask her, and he figured out that tonight she was way more approachable and she gave him replies to his questions, so he would ask her more in due time.

"Well I am already enjoying the time we are spending together vampire" said Selene as she smiled.

"Oh really now?" asked Liam

"Do you want some wine?" asked Selene as she brought out a bottle of red wine from where she kept it in her cupboard.

"I didn't know that we had wine in this camp" said Liam as he was surprised.

"We don't" said Selene.

"This is my special wine, for special occasions." said Selene as she looked at him.

"I see" said Liam

"Do you want wine or not vampire?" asked Selene as she was getting impatient.

"I do not see why not" said Liam and Selene got two glasses and she poured the wine.

"One for me, and one for you" said Selene as she smiled and sat down next to Liam as she gave him his glass.

Liam did not waste a second, and he immediately gulped down the wine in one second.

"Good Wine" he said as he looked at the empty glass.

"Mhmm" said Selene as she was initially shocked at his barbaric way of drinking, but she quickly concealed it by chuckled and sipping her own wine.

"Cat eyes I have a question" said Liam as he looked at her.

"Go on vampire ask it" said Selene.

"Can I get a refill" said Liam as he gestured at his empty glass, but he broke into laughter, the look on her face was just priceless, she looked like he was drinking her out of house and home.

"You look like you are going bankrupt" said Liam as he laughed.

Selene laughed along to change the look on her face, why wouldn't she look bankrupt when this vampire was trying to finish all of her special secret wine.

"Anyway I was just messing with you" said Liam as he stopped laughing.

"You are good at that vampire" replied Selene.

"My real question cat eyes, is why are you doing this?" asked Liam

"What do you mean?" asked Selene as she sipped her wine again.

"This whole arrangement, what is the real reason that you decided to do this?" asked Liam as he looked very serious.

"What do you mean Vampire, you don't trust me?" asked Selene.

"Quite frankly I do not" replied Liam with no hesitation.

"Oh umm, I thought that... nevermind" said Selene as she looked down and acted as if she was sad.

"Look Cat eyes, I did not mean it like that" said Liam as he was feeling bad, he had never seen her this sad before.

"What I meant was that, you have not given me a reason to trust you" said Liam as he sighed.

"Oh well then, why don't we start trusting each other now" said Selene as she looked up.

"I have no problem against that" said Liam

"Why don't we start by you calling my name" said Liam

"Your name??" asked Selene

"Yes my name, Liam, stop calling me, 'vampire' just call me Liam, since we want to trust each other" said Liam

"Your name??" asked Selene once again

"Yes Cat eyes, my name, Liam, say it" said Liam as he was waiting patiently for Selene to say it.

"Liam??" said Selene as she felt like she was compelled to say it.

"Liam" she said once again, she didn't know why but saying his name felt weird on her lips, like a strange language.

"Yes cat eyes, Liam" said Liam as he smiled.

"Well now I trust you" said Liam as he rested his back on the couch leisurely.

"Really just like that??" said Selene out loud.

"Of course Cat eyes" said Liam

"Well that is a stupid move" said Selene to herself.

"Hey I have another question" said Liam

"Oh really?? You are full of questions tonight, aren't you?" asked Selene as she was not surprised, she had predicted this, she gave Liam bread and he would take the whole bakery.

"Of course Cat eyes, we trust each other now don't we?" asked Liam

"Of course Liam, we do" said Selene as she smiled, and Liam smiled back because she was getting comfortable with using his name.

"Anyway back to my question" said Liam

"How in the world do you handle the boss's bad attitude, even his own wife cannot bear him, and yet you take it full on, you are very strong" said Liam

Selene smiled as she ignored the fact that he mentioned that wretched woman, as he had called her strong.

"Well Liam, Azazel is not so hard to deal with, once you know how to handle him" said Selene

"Well do tell" said Liam as he looked eager to hear more from her, it made Selene smile, no one had ever looked at her the way Liam looked at her, with such expectancy and admiration.

"It's easy" said Selene as she opened up.

"Just do as you are told, and also take some initiative when you feel that it would be best" said Selene.

"Cat eyes, you are very smart, knowing how grumpy the boss could be, either you listen to him and he still insults you for not carrying out his instructions to the letter, or he insults you for not doing something for yourself" said Liam

"Oh you know how he is" said Selene.

"I wonder how you put up with him?" asked Liam

"I am used to it" said Selene as she replied softly.

"How come?" asked Liam

"Because he saved me once, and that is enough for me" said Selene as she did not give much detail, but for her Azazel would always be her lord, and she loved him regardless of how he treated her.

"Ahh I see Cat eyes" replied Liam.

"Yes, so do you want some more wine?" asked Selene.

"Why not?? let's see where the night will take us" said Liam as he smirked.

"Ahh true" replied Selene, as she refilled his glass.

"Cheers, to new beginning and endings" said Selene as she raised a toast.

"Cheers" said Liam as they clinked glasses, and he drank his wine in another mighty gulp, while Selene finished the wine in her glass.

"You know what Liam" said Selene as she put her glass on the table and she moved closer to Liam.

"What??" asked Liam

"Let's take this one step further shall we??" said Selene as she moved even closer to Liam, as if she wanted to kiss him.

"Mhmm" said Liam as he did not refute her at all.

Lost in an ephemeral plain, in just an instant, as their lips were about to touch, Liam shouted out in pain, as he felt a jab in his chest.

"AHHHH" he cried out as he fell back on the couch and Selene moved away.

Liam looked down at his chest, he saw a dagger lodged directly where his heart was, and he immediately felt more pain, when he saw Selene thrust the dagger even deeper into his heart.

"What are you doing cat eyes" asked Liam

"Oh nothing just doing what needs to be done" said Selene as she stood up and smiled.

"Ah Ah ah, don't try pulling it out" said Selene as she saw what Liam was trying to do.

Liam didn't know why his body felt so weak, like it was failing him.

"I know what you are thinking, the dagger is laced in witches brew, so just pulling it out will just quicken your death" said Selene as she smiled.

"What did I do to deserve this??" asked Liam

"It's not you Vampire, it's just what needs to be done" said Selene as she looked like she was bored while waiting for him to die.

"I trusted you" said Liam as he grunted, his body gradually becoming paler.

The question he was asking himself was when she had the chance to get that dagger, he had let his guard down because he thought that she was unarmed, maybe it was when she moved to refill his glass, that must have been it.

"Big mistake by you" replied Selene.

"Selene" said Liam

"Yes" said Selene as she was surprised, this was the first time that she had heard him call her name, he usually called her cat eyes.

"I trusted you" he kept on saying.

"Mhmm" said Selene as she was sure that the poison was making him delirious.

"Selene" called Liam once again.

"Yes" said Selene as she rolled her eyes.

"You are wicked" said Liam as he used the last of his might,

"I know" said Selene as she smiled with no remorse at all.

The last thing that Liam saw as he drifted into an eternal slumber, was the wicked smile on Selene's face.

Selene looked at the now lifeless body of Liam, he was right, she was wicked, and she knew it, no regrets, she had plans, and killing him was a stepping stone for her plans.

"No regrets" she said as if reminding herself as she pulled out her dagger from his chest.
