"Stressful" that would be the word used to describe Mira, and everyone else's week so far.
First they were caught off guard and attacked by Azazel's potion bombs, which were wickedly filled with witches brew, which poisoned half the camp, and that increased the workload on Mira and the others who were perfectly fine and unharmed by the incident.
And secondly, their captain was caught in red handed trying to harm the one that they were supposed to protect, very ironic, no one expected Armand of all people to do such a thing, it came as a shock to all of them, but they had to carry on their duties as the Vice Chancellor was there, and she was not in the mood to be reasoned with.
All of them present at the scene knew that Stella was beyond angry, and Armand would not come out of her office unpunished. Stella was known for being a nice Chancellor that rarely got angry, but when she did, it would spell doom for whoever had offended her.
All Mira wanted to do now was relax, and maybe catch up on some sleep, she had been on watch duty for the past three days and today she was off, Mira walked into her tent, which was brown in colour, it was in the far north of their camp, the tents over here were for High Council officials.
Mira took off her black boots, and her black cloak, she hung it on a rack nearby, her brown hair was tied in a ponytail, it was easier for her to fight and move with her hair out of the way.
She took off her black fingerless gloves, they were not usually part of her wardrobe, but she had got them as a gift from a friend, and she wore it to show the person that she appreciated the gift.
It seemed that they were bad luck, because how come it was the day that she finally decided to wear them after such a long time that she got them, that she had to arrest her own captain?? she was going to keep them in the far drawer of her closet, so their bad luck would not spread.
Or then again, she could have just casted a good luck spell on them, but she was to tired right now.
Mira climbed into bed without changing, she closed her eyes and was waiting for fall asleep, when she abruptly opened them, as she realized that she still had some reports to send out.
Mira sighed as she got out of bed, whoever thought that all she had to do was train and fight was wrong, she had so many paperwork to fill, reports on her and the rest of her team members, and most of all on the Vice Chancellor's behavior.
Mira sat on her desk, and she began to write on the progress of their team and their mission so far, she had to sent this to the High Council, the High Council demanded this from every single subordinate member, in order to judge their way of leading.
Once Mira was done, she stood up, put on her boot again and she walked out of her tent, she left her cloak behind since she was not on duty, and she was on her way to the Vice Chancellor's office to give her report.
There she was minding her own business when out of the blue, her fellow team members began to congratulate her as she moved along.
"Congratulations" said a man in a black cloak.
"Thank you??" said Mira as she had no idea what he was congratulating her for, but she did not have the time to ask him, he had already gone his way.
"Congratulations" said another witch as Mira walked by
"Congratulations Mira" said another witch.
"Umm Thank you??" said Mira, what in the world was going on?? what was she getting congratulated for? and she was so clueless of what was going on.
"Congratulations Mira" said a female witch as she smiled.
"Wait hold on Liz" said Mira as she held Liz's hand to stop her from going anywhere.
"What is it Mira?" asked Liz
"Can you please tell me what everyone is congratulating me for? I have no clue at all" said Mira
"*Gasp*" said Liz
"So you mean that you don't know" said Liz
"Know what?" asked Mira
"Oh my you haven't heard" said Liz
"Liz heard what?? I don't get what you are saying, just tell me already" said Mira as she knew that Liz could be dramatic at times.
"Armand came over here earlier to take his belongings and he said something about you" said Liz
"What do you mean Liz?" asked Mira suspiciously.
"He said that you are now captain" said Liz
"No way, you must be joking" said Mira
"No Mira I'm not, I am very serious" said Liz
"No no this is not a good idea" said Mira
"Well what can you do? I am sure that this is the Chancellor's punishment for what he did" said Liz
"I understand that, but why did I have to come into the matter?" asked Mira
"Liz, I will see you later, I have to go now" said Mira as she left to go and see Stella
"Okay see you then??" said Liz.
Meanwhile in Stella's office.
Stella had finally calmed down, she was writing some letters when she heard someone step into her office.
"Good Afternoon My Chancellor" said Mira as she bowed her head.
"Ahh Mira what brings you here?" asked Stella as she smiled.
"Nothing really my Chancellor, I just came to hand in my weekly report" said Mira
"I see, well you can just drop it there with the others" said Stella as she pointed to a pile of papers on the corner of her desk.
"Okay My Chancellor" said Mira as she placed her report over there.
"Yes, I will send them to the council by tomorrow" said Stella
"Okay My Chancellor" said Mira.
"You may go now... except there is something else you wish to discuss with me?" asked Stella as she looked up and noticed that Mira was still standing there.
"Umm yes My Chancellor" said Mira
"Umm it's about my recent promotion as Captain" said Mira
"Ahh I see, I believe in you, and I am sure that you will do great as Captain" said Stella as she smiled.
"Thank you My Chancellor, I really appreciate your trust in me, believe me I do, but I just do not think that it would be good for me to be Captain seeing as this was Armand's position" said Mira
As soon as she said that, Stella's face went grim, she was not happy that Mira was rejecting her offer, because of that disobedient traitor named Armand.
"But Armand has been relieved of his duties till further notice, and you are the best candidate" said Stella
"Don't tell me that you are rejecting my offer?" said Stella, her voice sounded soft, but Mira could hear the underlying threat in it.
"My Chancellor it's not that I am rejecting it per se, it is just that I do not know if I could handle such responsibility" said Mira
"But you are third in command, I am sure that moving up two steps will not make a big difference" said Stella
"Yes My Chancellor but..." said Mira
No one wanted to be on Armand's bad, side especially Mira, you could say that they were friends but not close friends, the big reason they were so called friends was because Mira would always listen to him and not put out her own suggestions and opinions.
Mira knew first hand of how truly brutal Armand could be, and she was sure that he was not happy that she took his position, this could cause problems for her in the future, and Stella did not seem to see that, or maybe she did and she just did not care.
"But nothing" said Stella as she cut Mira off.
"Tell me Mira, who do you work for? Armand or Me?" asked Stella as she knew that the reason Mira was rejecting this was because of Armand.
Mira was stuck in a pickle, she wanted to say that she worked for the High Council, but seeing Stella's face right now, she knew that it would be a death sentence.
"I work you my Chancellor" she said as she bowed her head.
"Good, so as your Chancellor, you will take the offer, and be Captain of the forces till I say otherwise, this ends here no room for further discussion" said Stella
"... Yes My Chancellor" said Mira as she kept her head bowed down.
"Good, now you may leave" said Stella
"Yes My Chancellor" said Mira as she turned around and left, she just hoped that she would not come across Armand anytime soon.
Meanwhile back in Azazel's camp.
Pale eyes, dry lips and minimal breathing, this was the sight that Nia walked into as she brought Clove her lunch.
"MILADY!" said Nia as she dropped the tray in her hands and she rushed to Clove's side.
"Milady?? are you okay?? what's wrong" she asked as she patted Clove's cheeks to try to wake her up.
Nia noticed that Clove was holding her forearm rather tightly and it caused the area to turn bright red.
Nia didn't know what to do, she was confused as well as worried, but luckily for her in a few seconds Clove came back, her eyes received colour once again, he coughed and she let go of her forearm.
"Milady, you are back, are you okay??" asked Nia
"What's wrong Milady?? what happened?" asked Nia as she noticed that Clove had a sad look on her face, she did not cry, but she looked extremely sad.
"Look Nia, you have to promise me something" said Clove as she turned to look at Clove.
"Anything Milady" said Nia quickly.
"Whatever I tell you to do, do it 100 percent, no matter how hard of unreasonable it seems will you do that for me?" asked Clove
"Yes Milady, I promise" said Nia quickly as she did not think twice.
"Thank you Nia" said Clove as she finally smiled in days.
"Nia I'm hungry, can you go get me some food?" asked Clove
"Yes Milady, sorry I threw the food on the ground when I saw you were not well" said Nia sheepishly.
"It's okay Nia" said Clove as she smiled at her.
"I will go to the kitchen and get something else for you" said Nia
"Okay then" said Clove as Nia left.
As soon as Nia left, Clove had a sad look in her eye, because she had just seen something that no one else would believe.
