Almost five minutes passed, Julia was processing the amount I just offered to her and if it was worth it. I knew she would take the bet when she slowly said "I can work with that" and a smile formed on my lips.
"When would you like us to close the deal?" I asked.
"As soon as I receive a confirmation of payment"
"And I'm not going to make the payment until I get my girlfriend back, safe and unharmed"
"She is safe and unharmed. Meet me at your warehouse tonight, and bring the cheque with you" she said and hang up the phone.
That same day I called Colonel Randal to inform him of my decisions. He said I shouldn't have paid off a culprit while he had plans, but when I asked what his plans were he had nothing to say — what a waste of the so called leader.
