The darkness, hunger, cold and loneliness overcame Simon after three months of being locked inside the cabin. He was only fed fish broth and some vegetables as per my request, and perhaps he thought I was joking when I ordered the guards to do so but he found it the hard way when he knew that nothing was a joke and I was serious about locking him up and not giving him a time of day — not even to see the sunshine.
The whole situation broke him and he lost twenty pounds, he was reduced to just skin and bones. His hair grew longer as so did his beards, I couldn't recognize him when the guards showed me his videos and I knew if his father was to be resurrected today then he wouldn't recognize him. Even when that woman came to help him, he could barely stand and he had to be helped.
But now where was Simon? That was the question Martin and Colonel Randal were also asking themselves.
