I'll give you guys a brief breakdown of what I did yesterday. I met Hravati and went to her house. I slept with her and agreed to go on an adventure as well. My memory is perfect. But I have to wonder.
" What exactly are we doing in a bar? "
Today I find myself inside a bar with tons of men and women. They seem to be partying because of these sounds called " music. " I don't understand it, but I like it, so I bob my head to it anyways.
" We're here to get your adventurer ID. I told you this morning. "
" You did, but what exactly does a bar have to do with adventuring? "
I ask. Like, one would typically expect some office for an application, correct? I'm a civilized man, so I'm sure I'm not wrong. To my dismay, I'm proved wrong by this discovery.
What else does this new age have to show an old-timer like me?
Don't worry. I am not that old. As I've said before, I'm a handsome 17-year-old boy. Though, I've been asleep for two thousand years. I might as well call myself an elder.
" We adventurers rest here. In turn, they give us commissions and requests. Common stuff. "
" So you're saying THIS is what you call a GUILD? "
" Pretty much. "
I have honestly nothing to say.
However, as we converse about this age's new antics, an unknown female appears before us.
Damn, she's beautiful. A classic beauty with brown hair! She might even be on Hravati's level. Wait a minute, is this the start of my harem? I heard only men of the highest level receive this blessing. That must be it.
I'm a God!
" Excuse me; my name is Bastia. I'm the guild receptionist. I'm here to provide you with your guild license since you are new here, are you not? "
" I, that I am. My name is Ars Von Silverwood. It is only fate that we meet here in this very place- "
Before I can finish my introduction, a sharp pain hits my side. I look over to see Hravati's elbow and her death glare. I shouldn't have done that.
" Very well, please place your thumb here on this screen. We'll get back to you in around 30 minutes after this. "
I nod and press with my left thumb.
I reencounter the weird device, the same one Hra used. I'll call her this for now since I don't feel the need to call her Hravati every time.
You guys get the point.
I want to get one of these for myself sometime. The device has quite the utility, so why not get one?
Bastia leaves us, and we are left here once more. I hope she doesn't punish me.
" You didn't introduce yourself that way when you met me. How come? "
" You didn't even let me finish, and you were too charming. I couldn't find the words. "
" Wha- "
I got her there for sure! She's blushing!
" A-anyways, once we get home, expect a beating. "
Never mind, I'm still doomed. I don't feel good now; maybe I should find a restroom. Hey! I know what you're thinking. I know what a bathroom is; do you think I came from the age of cave dwellers? If you didn't, I'm sorry for assuming.
" I'll answer nature's calling, be right back. "
I leave Hra and ask others for the bathroom. Thankfully, they're nice and tell me. I rush over there and take the corner.
Oof!
An incredible force hits me and sends me back to the ground. Is there a horse in this damn bar? I look forward, and I see-
Another pretty woman!
Today is an auspicious day. I look even further down and see the light. The radiant light! But I look away as fast as possible as not to get caught. She seems pretty confused as well, so I should help her up. I stand up and offer my hand. Now that I look closely, she looks familiar. Perhaps I'll use my moves now.
Number 5, Humble Apology and Offer!
" I'm sorry, I wasn't looking. Are you ok? I'll help you stand. "
I don't get a response, only a stare. The girl took my hand and pulled herself up, which is a good thing. Anyways, I'll head over to the restroom now—no time to waste.
Before I can move, she hugs me.
I'm shocked, so I look back.
She appeared to have something to say, but she let go and left before I could ask what was bothering her. Honestly, what's with me today? I'm a hunk, I know, but this is abnormal.
My desire to go to the toilet has disappeared due to this event, so I should go back to Hra.
I walk back to see a disturbing scene—tons of buffed men ganging up on Hravati. I'm 100% sure they're trying to hit on her and steal her from me.
Too bad for them.
They'll never lay their hands on her for as long as I'm here.
I rush to the scene by swiftly moving through the crowd. I slide under one of the men and get in front of Hra.
" Hands off her, and get out of here. "
I glare at them to show my seriousness.
They cringe for a bit but start to laugh right after. Are these brutes laughing because I'm not as buff or big? Sure, they might be buff giants, but I'm pretty tall, and I've received knight training. I'm not so sure they should underestimate me so fast.
" Stop it, Ars. "
She pivoted her foot and pinched my ear, afterwards proceeded to pull me to her side.
My ear! My ear feels like it's burning! Why does she have to be so forceful when I'm saving her? How much strength does she put in a pinch anyways?
But, now that I think of it, I recognize their uniforms. They're the same as the big guy from last time. Does that mean they're her underlings? I've messed up.
" Here's your ID. Don't lose it. It's a pain to issue a new one. "
She holds it out.
I take the object called ID and inspect it. I never bothered to ask what the adventurer ID was, so I don't know it. But I see my face on it. Somehow I don't recall ever taking a photograph here at all. So how exactly did they imprint my face on this card? They must have a genius painter here that painted my face while I wasn't looking.
I also missed my chance to converse with the lovely receptionist, which I sort of regret. I can't do much about it now, though.
" Well then, let's go, men. Time to give this rookie his first taste of dungeons. "
One of the men came closer and carried me on his shoulder. I don't need the ride, but since I'm tired, I might as well stay quiet.
" Today is going to be a long day. "
