Chapter 11 - Chapter 011: Training

It was the next day after his first meeting with Houmard and was heading off for his first training session. It was early in the morning and they were planning on training at the Houlme estate since they had a full training ground built already. Houmard had told him how to get to his house through a letter that was sent to his house.

It wasn't too long of a walk and Bec reached the house-scratch that-the mansion and walked up to the door and knocked. It felt strange to be in front of a place like this so it made him a little uncomfortable.

"Hello?"

A woman dressed as a maid opened the door and looked down to Bec. She had red hair and red eyes to go along with it, she was a very beautiful person.

"Aren't you a cutie! You would be just my type of you were my age!"

She picked Bec up and spun him around while hugging him. After a few spins she put him back down and made the gesture to come inside.

"Master Houmard is out back, if you cut through to the left and continue straight you'll reach him with no problems."

"Thank you."

Bec walked inside and did exactly what the maid had instructed. There were so many rooms and expensive things that it made his house seem less like a house and more of a hole filled with mud. After his small walkthrough of the mansion he reached the back of the house where Houmard was striking a wooden doll with a short sword.

"Houmard!"

"Hm? Oh, hey Oldie!"

Bec ran over and on his way over he soon found himself to be looking up at the sky. He was confused at first but soon discovered that he had slipped on mud. He felt a little pain in the back of his head and sat up to find his back to be soaked.

"That sucks. Can't do anything about that now I guess." 'That's not good. I only have three sets of clothes and it's rare I get to wash them to. Maybe mom would make an exception for something like this.'

"You alright?"

"Just a little fall, I'll be fine." 'I died before so maybe I can just imagine that this is less pain then what I felt then…Then again I didn't feel any pain since it was instant so I guess my analogy won't work.'

Bec stood up and wiped off as much mud as he could from his clothes and pretended as if his fall had never happened.

"So, where are we starting?"

"I'd like to first get a sense of your skill so go hit that dummy with all you've got!"

Houmard gave him a short sword and Bec walked over to the dummy. He began to strike it the best he could but this was his first time wielding a sword so he was still trying to figure it out. He understood to swing it but that was about it.

"Hmhm. I understand now. You are less then a beginner."

"Huh?!"

"Normally everyone has at least a little experience with swinging a sword even if it was with the help of their parents but you have no good form at all. I must make you the suitable rival so you can help me achieve my dream."

"So what should I do first?"

"I guess I'll start with the forms my father taught me when I could barely talk."

Bec spent the rest of the day learning sword drills and forms. He felt exhausted by the end of the training session and his hands hurt a bit from swinging the sword around for so long. There was a butler keeping watch over them and he seemed to be glaring at Bec the whole time which didn't help him at all.

'What's that guy's problem?'

Houmard gave Bec a glass of water and when he put it to his lips he flinched back as it was freezing cold. All of the water he had been drinking in this world had always been lukewarm so this was a blessing on par when he had tea with Yion.

It was reaching the end of the day so they decided to end the training session and Bec headed home. The butler was the one who escorted him out and before Bec went fully outside the butler began to say something.

"If I find even a single missing thing from this house I will call the town guards to take you to prison. I also recommend on not coming back as you don't belong here."

He slammed the door in Bec's face and Bec stood there in a daze.

'So he doesn't like me because I'm a peasant…Guess I should have expected that from a noble house…' "I'm going to come back! I'll be sure to!"

Bec left the mansion and was back onto the streets of the town. He looked forward to tomorrow as he had yet to stir up true trouble since coming to this world and he refused to lose his first friend since coming here. It was going to be his first battle since arriving in his new self and he was looking forward to it as he never knew when he took something too far making it so he never knew when to stop.
