Blake was the cool guy. The socialite everyone knew and had heard of. The guy who was always picked first in PE and the team leader when the teachers wanted soemthibg done. Everyone liked Blake and Blake liked everyone.
Except Elisabeth. Elisabeth hated Blake. It wasn't that he didn't like her. He had nothing against her. It was just... She couldn't really explain it either. He attracted people like flies to honey and he did it /effortlessly/. Elisabeth would bet her entire existence that Blake had never had to be taught everything she learned. He had never had to choose his words like she had to. He just instinctively knew how to make people like him and the right thing to say. Elisabeth hated Blake.
What made it worse was that he could make her feel important when he talked to her. Like he was interested in what she had to say. Like he cared.
There was no way he did. Her personality at school was basic. Simple. A typical girl who only diverted from the norm when socially acceptable. Every one of her conversations was basic and polite. All interests preordained. Each conversation carefully thought up in advance. Not with Blake. He managed to pull things out of her she had no plans on ever divulging. And it terrified her. Would her carefully crafted plans break? Would he ruin years of work? Would she disappoint mother?
She hated Blake.
She feared Blake.
So she would deal with him the only way she knew how to.
She would break him. Just like mother said.
