Chapter 3 - Awakening (3)

Now, what happened might be surprising but how can the luck of a man ,who probably died and got another life ,be measured

oOoOo

The lanky boy said to the stout man hesitatingly.

"I am sorry but it's in a really awkward spot...can't show.."

"Now..now..you come to my shop in rags and want to use my device but won't show the Chip? Really?"

"Sorry...but I can't" said the 'boy' meekly, trying to hide his annoyance.

'Tsh. Still can't put down my ego..' thought he, failing to believe what he was witnessing. A mere café owner dared to question him , so smugly‽‽‽'

"Don't you have a machine to check it" said the boy with a glint in his eyes.As long as he goes in the scanning machine, his identity , by one of the stolen chips would be confirmed.

"Ow..you know about it?" asked the man clearly surprised.

Well ,why wouldn't he? he was probably one of the most brilliant scientists on earth after the catastrophe. Although,Mechanics was not included in his field of expertise ,he could easily 'twitch' here and 'twitch 'there his way out from such basic checkers. Hence as long as a not-so-high-tech machine was involved he could , he was not worried.

"Okay then,... Pleaseee enter the machine and remember....do not try anything funny." said the man with a slight sense of cautiousness, clearly not so smug as before.

Thus came an end to one of the problems of Krishna, that is is getting into the store to access one of the computer devices.

He entered the ragged chamber of a checker machine, it was even worse than he imagined. It old and outdated hence it did not take him much time to twitch here and there and use one of the spare chips.

The shopkeeper was expecting the light to go red and wanted to play a little with the innocent-looking scrawny boy. However the results were quite the opposite , the light was bright green, indicating that he had an authentic citizenship chip.

Krishna came out and to the shopkeeper he said" Now , am I eligible to enter and use one of your devices."

Sujoy was just going to refuse and 'tell' the boy to get out of the store ,when Krishna said," Please remember that I have paid an advance of hundred rupees it would be a fraud if you told me to get out."

True it was. He was also registered by the machine thus he had no other choice than to let him use one of the devices.

Sujoy said," Well then ,go ahead and do whatever you want to do but please do not harm my devices ,you will live to regret it."

Krishna openly ignored the warning.Yeah , I would surely regret messing up your PCs and went ahead to use one of the less ragged looking computers access his t-bank account.

He entered the acc. number and was going to enter the password when he realised he does not remember password clearly.

What was it....

Death to sweaty barbarins....no..

All knowing one...nope....

Emmanuel Clearwater..nup

He entered a few words that we thought were the passwords but sadly they were not.

Then a sudden realisation struck him...

' Yoo hee **** me'

It clicked....

Krishna shivered at the thought...a year later it was revealed that Yoo hee the glamorous dancer ,was a transgender.....not that he hated them but ...eww .

Now it was that fortunate moment when he was going to receive a fraction of 'his' own hard earned income ,well it would be a fraction 'cause no anonymous account could take more than 1 thousand dollars from a t-bank account (he had nearly a 150 million). This transaction would surely not alarm the current Emmanuel but could still probably trigger an investigation regarding the safety of the account. But Krishna could not do without it . So, he decided to not reach the upper limit and stay somewhere near the middle and take eight hundred dollars.

He received it as digital money via his chip and decided to get the the real money , if he did not the transact right now it would alarm the shopkeeper... also he could do the necessary shopping more conveniently.

Now that he had something money to live of, it was time to research.

He had heard about the free services provided to minors in India but that was it. He did not know how to avail it or where was it even provided. He still was knees deep in sh*t. So...he turned to the Internet, the sea of knowledge(smh). He started his searches with pretty vague criterias. Like, laws for homeless people in India and slowly went for specifics after acquiring enough knowledge about a topic. At, one point he side tracked and went for education. It was a point to behold. The Education system was nothing too good. It was the same as the one in his previous life. It sucked the life out of students with limited practical usage untill highschool. The impressive fact was that the country had two sides....one for the priviledged and one for the deprived.

Poor children of labourers, orphans, homeless / abandoned children all received the same level of education as the privileged class minus the brand value of the school .These are called Gurukuls (govt.) and NGOs.Plenty of scholarships were also present for those who were exceptional in their highschool years to give them a push forward. Krishna was pretty intrigued . He went a little deeper and came to know that NGOs and GOs all provided the education plus food and shelter and other amenities provided that you can prove your condition (an orphan/homeless/poor with desire to do something). Well, this might seem like an utopia but a country with exceptionally explosive population density is naturally exempted from general conditions that define a utopia. In layman's, not all parents recognise the importance of education. To them, working to help the family is obviously the better choice, if they have gifts or talents or physique ....even better. But what can one do ...a country as papulated as this one has all sorts of people and...Well , let's discuss this some other time .. Now, back to Krishna née Emmanuel..

Krishna asked Sujoy for a memo and reassured that he will pay . He wrote down all necessary details and addresses of organisations that can help him including the police station.

The research of a former world renowned scientist naturally took time like 4-5 hrs . Sujoy grew pretty impatient and curious as of what sh*t took such time. In the meantime, he had had lunch , a small stroll around the market and such..

Finally, Krishna left the chair and went to the shopkeeper and inquired if the shop had the facility of cash withdrawal.

"Oh...Oh..you ..Yes we have." said the unexpecting and shocked Sujoy.

Krishna quietly paid what he owed and got out of the café whistling as he had achieved more than what he thought he could.

Now, all that was left was to reach out to one of the noted organisation and prove himself?

He glanced at the glassdoor of the café .

'Now , how hard can it be?'

thought Krishna

oOoOo

"Yup, it's pretty dang hard .. huh.. huhhh . . . " mused the lanky panting boy .

Now that 'Krishna' had arranged some money to live off it for a few days, it was imperative of him to find a place to stay. He cannot continue to live in that shack. It was hazardous for health if not for this skeleton body then it will destroy his mental state at the very least.

So...he started his hunt. Not knowing much about the roads , he ended up wandering here and there , receiving dirty looks from the store owners and passer bys .

"Nope..this can't go on. I must look atleast a social creature to interact with the people..." mused Krishna

"Let's get some cloths and a haircut first.."

With this updated goal in mind, he went to a nearby thrift store to get some to wear.

Well, none were pleased by his patronage, a bulky man even came towards him , to throw him out.

Well, he somehow managed to convince them and quickly wraped up his business while receiving dirty glares from the people in the store.

He just got a blue jogger jeans and a hoodie for 10 usd . The hoodie would save him the cost of haircut. Though none were in good condition.

Krishna now had 788 dollars , so he had to be very frugal with it , even when he found an organisation to sponser him and cater to his needs.

With this problem taken care of he resumed his search.
