But when the great beast came up to him instead of attacking him it kept on moaning and groaning and looking at Zhang Yong, who saw that the lion was holding out his right paw, which was covered with blood and much swollen.
Looking more closely at it Zhang Yong saw a great big thorn pressed into the paw, which was the cause of all the lion's trouble.
"Ohhh! So that's why he wasn't attacking me." He looked up at the lion which was looking at him with pleading eyes.
"Do you want me to pluck it out?" Zhang Yong asked the lion but then slapped his forehead.
"How can a lion reply to me?"
The lion didn't reply to him but to his utter shock he bent down and sat just in front of him, holding his paw out for him.
Zhang Yong raised his eye brows still not believing that the great lion was bending in front of him and asking for him to help.
Gathering up all his courage he looked at the lion and then said, "Okay! I will pluck it out but I have a condition. Once I pluck it out you will not eat me or hurt me then only I will help you."
The lion again pushed his paw in front of Zhang Yong, telling him that he agreed with his condition and.
Zhang Yong slightly nodded his head before moving a little back and turning to get up. He got up and went near him. His steps cautious as he still didn't know whether he should believe the lion or not.
Mustering up all his courage he bent down near his paw, he kept on looking at the lion from the corner of his eyes as he pulled his big paw towards him.
His paw was so big and heavy that it was difficult for him to even move it towards himself. He kept on pushing it towards himself with all his might but still wasn't able to. The lion looked at him for some time before keeping his paw in front of him so that he could easily pull out the thorn.
"Couldn't you do this earlier?" Zhang Yong gave him a disgusting look, "I wasted my energy on you."
The lion in return looked at him with a puppy face and he rolled his eyes.
"Okay! I am going to do it now."
With that he seized hold of the thorn and drew it out of the lion's paw, who roared with pain when the thorn came out.....
The lion roared with pain when the thorn came out, but soon after found such relief from it. He still didn't get up from the ground and kept laying on it as he kept his paw on one side.
As soon as Zhang Yong pulled that thorn out he backed away and tried to get away from him as far as possible, thinking that he might try to hurt him when he would get better.
He ran away and hid himself behind a tree. He peeked through the corner and looked at the lion who was still laying there and not coming towards him.
"Does he not wanna kill me?" Zhang Yong asked himself.
He stood there for some time, observing that lion's action but soon when he saw the lion not doing any thing but sitting there with a pitiful look on his face, he heaved a big sigh and again started to take some steps towards the lion.
His each and every step was cautious and he was still scared of what that lion would do to him. A part of himself was telling him not to go near him but the other part of him was telling him to go near him and help the poor lion.
"Look! Don't get up! I will.... I will help you with that."
The lion looked at him like he was waiting for him to do whatever he wanted.
Zhang Yong sighed as he went over to the side and started to look for some thing which can help the lion in reducing the pain.
He looked here and there for some time and after finding a little he finally found some useful herbs which he can use to heal the wound of the lion. He pulled those herbs out and then went back to the lion.
"Hey! I found these for you."
He shook those herbs in the air in front of the lion who still didn't give any reaction and looked at him while blinking countless times.
"Let's just get these on you."
He used some rocks to grind those herbs. He did so until those herbs were roughly grinded. The lion kept on looking at him all along with that fierce look which was making him a little uncomfortable still he kept on grinding those herbs. Soon he picked them up and carefully applied them on the lion's paw.
The lion again growled with pain and moved his paw here and there but soon the burning sensation lessened and he was able to take a sigh of relief.
The lion's pain soon started to vaish away. He looked upon the man as his friend.
Zhang Yong stood up from the ground and wiped the dirt off of his pants.
"Here you go. I hope you are feeling better."
The lion now only growled but this time it was like he was thanking him for his help.
"Aha. Are you....
